Thank you Oky! Loving the Christmas funnies.

You're right, I should be thankful that I own the Home One. And with that, a groaner.

LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion

The funhouse set looks considerably better than the rest of the Batman sets in this wave. I guess I'd like to see more villains' bases/hideouts as opposed to rehashes of the original Batman sets. It's also nice to see Harley Quinn again and to get the Riddler with a bowler hat.

Hi everyone, merry Christmas - and I'm back! Oky, your masterpieces just keep coming. I'm jealous of your talent and minifigures - mainly your minifigures.

Thank you kindly everyone, glad I reached level 11! I have to get my hands on a painter collectible minifig...the possibilities with that guy are endless!

George G, I love all of those! Really funny work, the groaners such as "General Knowledge" and "Paploo Picasso" are my favourite. Praiter, good work on your speeder bike MOC as well. I hope to get back to making more Funnies when I can. EDIT: Here's the latest one, featuring a Jack Sparrow figure from a set I got while on vacation in the States!

Hey everyone, sorry I've been away for a while. Cloney, I love crossover jokes so I love that one! I foresee more Pirates crossovers in the near future! Leg-odt, Geofferey Rush played speech therapist Lionel Logue in the Academy Award-winning film The King's Speech. He also plays Captain Barbossa in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Instead of helping the king with his stutter, here he's helping Lord Vader with his.

    MOC - ST-T47 Hybrid Fighter

Jaw-droppingly good work - you have every right to feel chuffed; well done there! The idea is really clever, and the execution very well done. A good "ugly" isn't about merely smashing two sets together, it's about integrating them in a way that looks weird but makes sense, like what you've done here.

    MINI Millennium Falcon (YT-1300 Transport)

I'm loving that transparent black conical piece for the cockpit. Really nice work, old-fashioned mini goodness!

I go away for a while and everyone gets delusions of smut-eur! Been busy with work and stuff, but hopefully will crank out some new funnies soon. EDIT: Just finished building my Indy Temple of Doom set today, and it looks most impressive.

    [MOC] Assault frigate MK1

Oh yeah, that's bad megablocks! I love the midi-scale - as long as LEGO themselves aren't doing it. MOCs like this put LEGO's midi-scale attempts completely to shame, well done sir.

Brickdoctor and Praiter, I could not be more proud - appreciate it. And, Praiter, I absolutley agree about the jokes the author likes best being the ones that sometimes are the least popular - after all, you may not find something that funny since you came up with it in the first place, and it's the element of surprise that works on the audience. Gotta love the selection of paraphenalia at Han's disposal - wonder what his alter ego Indiana Jones would think about using the whip as a sex toy...

DobbyClone, I am most honoured to be counted among the likes of Oky and Praiter. *bows* While fiddling with my Crystal Skull, a certain Admiral came to mind...

Praiter, I have to admit Han's naughty streak is very very amusing. Love Leia's expresion and the way she turns her head in disdain in that one. Thank you for the comment about that quip! Yeah, the song is a tribute to that tragic plane crash, and "the music" died along with Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper - but sometimes I can't help thinking like a standup comic. I do also want to ask your opinion on the Vader comic I just did - I'm personally quite proud of it!

Hey, thanks Leg Odt! Hmm, about the "Friday" phenomena - at least now we know what exactly "The day the music died" refers to in Don McLeans classic song "American Pie". The thing is, the girl's parents had paid gobs of money to Ark Music Factory in order to bypass an audition stage and immediately make a record - talent and other factors notwithstanding. Rebecca Black was given two songs to select, and chose "Friday" over the other, a love song. The song had basically gone unnoticed, garnering few views on the internet, until it was mentioned in an article entitled "songwriting is not for everyone" - the absurdist, inane lyrics, distinct lack of a melody, farcical music video and egregious use of pitch-correcting software AutoTune on the singer's voice drew attention, mostly of the "you-can't-be-serious" variety - but she was, she is, and she's famous now. Poor Don McLean, I feel your pain. Having recently acquired the Indiana Jones magnet set which included the Crystal Skull, I'm a happy man, and so more crossover jokes!

    The Adventures of Samurai-San

Hello all, Konichi-wa from Tokyo, Japan! I'm now on a family vacation in the land of the Rising Sun, and I thought I would take a page from Athos' book and bring a minifig ambassador along for the ride - and who better than the collectable Samurai minifig? I was very intent on getting this figure before the trip, and the first few times I saw it sold loose (with the guessing game element removed) it was too expensive - but I finally got a hold of him. I've named him Samurai-san (Mr Samurai), and by the power vested in him by the Emperor, he's off to explore the far-flung country of...his home country. My trip lasts four days more - look forward to more from Samurai-san!

    The Adventures of Samurai-San

I thought I'd mention that I arrived home from Japan two days before the earthquake and tsunami happened - it's really sobering and scary and I'm very fortunate to have made it back at just the right timing. Thoughts and prayers with the people of Japan.

If you could pick one Star Wars Set to own

The one that got away for me will always be Jabba's Sail Barge - I really wish I bought that set; seems it was too expensive even there. Around that time was also the newer versions of the B-Wing, and the Y-Wing. Similar case is the newer Clone Wars Republic Gunship. Dad was still sore that our original Gunship had been broken apart and scavenged for parts (big mistake there) and was unwilling to buy what was essentially the same set (still think it's better, though). In terms of the way out-there, "fantasy" sets, the UCS Millennium Falcon ranks pretty high, and so does the Death Star playset which looks just about perfect. The Cloud City playset looks like a great one, I've seen it in person and honestly it isn't that impressive, but for all those figs and for the sheer diorama power it would be nice to own. Jango Fett's Slave I as well - I'm trying to approximate it by swapping out pieces for ones of the correct colours on my 6209 Slave I, but I just don't have the right ones.

Brick Pig, that's my favourite flick-fire missile joke so far! Oky, really like the lighting on the Ackbar one, well done there.

Bickdoctor, you're right that a black hilt came in the Indiana Jones set too. This is the city set, and yes it's a new one: Praiter, a valid point indeed - I just plucked the figures from my Home One set since I couldn't really find other senator minifigs. I'd given Mon Mothma a hair swap and removed her cape so she'd be Ep. IV - ish Leia. Poor Wedge - but believe it or not, I don't think I've seen a fleshie frowney-face minifig head - where's that one from, or was it Photoshopped in?
  24. Jedd the Jedi

    Single Pane Star Wars Funnies

Hey, thanks Mr Man! I can answer both your questions - the black hilt is from a City police set (it's supposed to be a flashlight in that set). The head is Pippin Reed from the Adventurers Orient Expedition subtheme.
