  1. Holy this is so exciting and looking amazing!! Thank you Thorsten :)
  2. Yeaa that's really frustrating, I just double checked all my spares and not one is misaligned. It must be a very uncommon occurrence.
  3. I just checked all the pin styles and the hardest to click in by far is the single eyelet connector, it also has a slightly different sheen than the others making sense that it goes along the lines of what Blackbird and Grum64 are talking about. The pins despite use and style seem to be of a softer grade of ABS that the liftarms. I also used a michrometer to check the width and circumference and they're all the same. So from what I've concluded whether the grade of ABS, shape or style they all play a part in how that piece clicks with other Lego technic pieces.
  4. This is an amazing little piece of engineering, well done :)
  5. Wow, you work unbelievably fast and your work is outstanding. If I'm not mistaken the axle is a 4L or 6L but my brother will have to clarify when he's up. ( I'm the younger brother, the one who did the framework. And we are both very grateful for your amazing work, thank you :) )
  6. This is awesome, reminds me of command and Conquer Red Alert from back in the day. :) very cool
  7. Thanks!! I've been building for around 6 months now and still in the process of stocking up on parts. Now realizing that I have plenty of panels but not a large abundance of randoms, liftarms, connectors and so forth so for now I have to get creative with what I have! Hopefully not loosing what I've learned when I have more to work with haha
  8. This is excellent, between the looks and functions I think it's great :)
  9. Oh my, this is one very enticing build!! I can't wait to see the finished product and excellent job on the current progress!
  10. Thanks, it's an interesting truck in real life to say the least! :p Well in that case what's your next big build? You know so I don't go stealing your ideas :p
  11. Thanks for the input, 9 fingers, grum64, Paul B, and JJ2 I appreciate it :D It helps me know I'm going in the right direction with my builds! Thanks! I wish it was a dually at the rear too but I only have 4 of those rims and tires at the moment, also I was trying to copy the Iron knight truck which amazingly is only four wheels as well.
  12. What an awesome little 8x8 I love the eight wheel drive idea, very simple, compact and great tourque :)
  13. Thanks, I guess I beat you too it haha. It was a fun build and I only loosely based it on the iron knight so I'm glad it resembles it well enough :). Also there really is so much room under there for just about anything, oh how I wish I had those rc buggy motors though. It's huge, altogether I haven't counted the total stud length but it's probably in the 160 range. As for the wheels, I thought about using them but I wanted to keep the black rims matching the truck. Thanks, I'm glad you think so. That's what I was going for :) thanks.
  14. Thanks, if I'm able during the teardown I'll do a picture teardown of the motor so you can see how it's made.
  15. Thanks, everyone. I had a lot of fun building the chassis for this build, trying to recreate the original suspension, motor (the supercharger was just a bit of flare haha) and dimensions! The 42056 wheels worked perfect for build and I'm so glad to see all the interest/enthusiasm, thanks all!! :)
  16. You are dead on with that, we almost maxed out on our nearly 1-6th scale entry, it does give you a lot of room to play though! They went with the same chassis from 65-95 with only minor tweaks each year but all had the same roofline. They are the kings at keeping up a traditional look :p
  17. Oh how I wish I had enough orange to do the flare in Orange as well, getting down to it we were getting really low on parts. (I've only been in the technic game since January this year so I still have a lot of stocking up to do) as for the garage full of Porsche's, pretty cool right, I happen to work on them for a living and was lucky enough to snap some pics :)
  18. I'll give it a shot to see how it works before I tear it down, interesting fix!
  19. With keeping the truck 4wd the frame work can't be any narrower hence why I couldn't use any nine length rods as I had originally hopped I could use, as for the rack trust me it is in the only location it will work, the rods are running parallel with the wheel hubs where they need to be, I first thought I needed to lower it as well (so I know what you're getting at :p) but it's in the correct location, I don't know what more to say really.
  20. At full raise and drop due to the control arms being longer than the tie rods the tie rods end up on a steeper angle when maxed out :/! This was my biggest issue but with what I have I unfortunately have no way of correcting it. I'm need a tie rod that's one longer but I don't think they make one
  21. If it's one lower when the truck drops the steering no longer functions, I know from the pic it looks wrong but I went through every height possibility and where it sits is the only way it worked with the truck raised and dropped. I'll get some more detailed pictures tonight and get them posted up so you can see. I appreciate the help though! :) (with the rack one lower the ball joints pop out everytime when it drops) The only thing what would actually fix it is an in between length on the tie rods, they should be one longer which would eliminate the strain on the rods themselves once raised and dropped (if you pause the video mid drop when showing how it works you'll see that when the control arms are straight, that the tie rods are at the proper height)
  22. It's all good :) I like all the different views and reviews I get. It always gives me something to consider when working on another build. Thanks
  23. Thanks everyone, I appreciate the comments! We'll be getting some better pics tonight to show a little more of the detail. Yea the wheels are a little small but 1. I was working with what I have and 2. Those tires worked excellent on functionality but also keeping the bodywork proper. Unfortunately due to the massive raise and drop the steering rack is in the only place it works (trust me I tried haha)
