Wonderful set! Good luck for it on Ideas!

    "LEGO Ruins Creativity"... Again

A friend of mine has a kind of similar stance and I see where that comes from. For a good part its nostalgia Ok, there are now licensed themes with very specialized pieces, but that is only one way to look at things. The other side is that many of these pieces are now used for something completely different, as you guys already pointed out. And I agree with certain sets being much less likely to be taken apart again once they are assembled, but when I remember right there were already enough kids in the 80s who had absolutely no feeling for a good build and failed in getting something built on their own. Seems they got kids now by themselves But seriously: there are much worse and much less teaching toys around. Lego has changed its face a bit over the last decades, but in its versatility its still incredibly rich. I guess it really depends on how kids are brought up. If they get encouragement in being curious, or if they learn just stupid consumer mentality.
  3. This is - in the most positive of all meanings - a crazy build! Very impressive and, while I have no idea of the cloth-making business, it looks completely authentic to me. Hats (or comparable head-attachments) off! Wonderful MOC!

LDD MOC: 1960s in the UK

Oh what lovely builds! You get indeed the England-feel very well and I would love to see them as physical builds. Maybe in a larger city scene? would be fantastic!

    [MOD] 9500 Sith Fury-class Interceptor

Wow, now this looks like serious business :-) I like what you made of it. Looks like it just flew out of the big screen!

[Challenge4][Cat B] Busy Streets of Haven

I like the camera angles a lot too btw. They make the build very vivid and look less staged.

    [ESL-FB2] Crawling from the Wreckage

Looks very fun and dynamic. You captured the event very nicely and the building quality is excellent. Lovely scene! I can't help thinking though that the monkey is having a good time laughing at our unfortunate experimenter. And the knights armor seems to bend in laughter too just great!

    [MOC] Steampunk Emerald Knight

This looks amazing! And imposing! And damn cool! Great choice of colours and shapes - and the flags on it really do the knightly job very well! I love it

    [MOC] Mean Machine

A mean (as the name betrays) little Hot Rod. I had these exhaust parts (from 6646) kicking around for literally ages and finally found the ideal place for them. Enjoy! The driver is the female crook from High Speed Police Chase (60042). More about the car on my blog.

    [MOC] Mean Machine

Thanks everybody for the replies! It is the first MOC I posted at all and I am extremely happy (and quite floored!) it gets so much positive feedback. There is more to come where it is from!

    MOC: Neo-Classic Space - Podracer

Holy rocket, this is wild! Love the podracer! It looks fast and bold and pretty crazy. Also lovely detailling. More of this please!

    LEGO Ideas Discussion

I am not sure if there is a place for Johnny 5 after Wall-E. They are both sentinent robots with big cute eyes its for me like someone wants to submit a different version of the exo suit really. This said, I'd love to see the fossil museum going through though The fishing store would be great too. The council chamber could absolutely work, if made in a more simplified way, like built open and with more basic walls. Much more like the Dr. Who set than the Ghostbusters HQ. And i can clearly see the gingerbread house being made!

MOC - Haunted House Redux (modular)

I supported this on ideas! Simply an amazing build, with no "dead" spots (despite its inhabitants^^). Quite exemplary for how to build large houses in Lego - great!

    Lego and "Depression"

I think Lego would be a just as valid measure than, say, the traditional ones, like painting and pottery. In a way the accessibility might be easier though. After all the shapes already exist (or literally "in parts"^^),

    [OL FB1] Master Luhhans Forge

A very neat build and the roof is especially nifty indeed. So simple, yet very effective. I like that you didn't go the way of many and make overcomplicated rough stone walls. The sleek and smoothness is really refreshing and looks very good

[SR-FB3] The first settlers of Moray's Den

This scene looks truly amazing! The colours suit nicely and I love the camera angles. It really makes it come alive, despite being its small size. Or because of? After all, its very well arranged and dense in its amount of detail. Wonderful

[Challenge4][Cat B] Busy Streets of Haven

This build is highly inspirational. Very cool designs and awesome minifigs! The whole thing looks vibrant and colourful. Can hardly be done better

    [moc] Vile Blacktron Space Magics

Awesome builds! I am a big Blacktron fan and especially that speeder bike is just a pure joy For the photo-editing, I recommend to open them in gimp and adjust the colour-curves. I think especially the black and white-balance will do miracles. After that a slight increase in contrast and you are sorted

    TIE DEFENDER

Marvellous building! I know this ship from old Tie Fighter-gaming-days and you just got it perfect. Is it swooshable too?

    Proof of power

Very good build and you did a great job showing the fire magic!

    Lady Blackmore's Big Daddy

Oh! This is phantastic! The walker reminds me a bit on the 80s tv series tripods. Amazing look you created! And Lady Blackmore looks positively mad - a steampunk villain perhaps?

What Hilt of LEGO Lightsaber you prefer?

For a nice uniform look I go for metallic silver. It has a nice metallic-look without being too flashy and bling. Black for dark Jedi works pretty well too as alternative

    Unreleased/Cancelled LEGO Sets

While it is a pity, I can somehow understand why certain sets didn't make it. Europe, 18th century for example - that would have been the Pirates-theme without pirates basically The idea of a prohibition-era theme is quite hilarious too. Too good to have made it really!

Anyone into retrofuturism! Or well anything nuclear!

Hello! Well, your "failed" prototype actually looks pretty promising to me. I think the general direction is pretty good. the rest is honing, rebuilding, contemplating - and again rebuilding - at least that's how many of my projects take shape I would take a look at the aerodynamically shaped trains of the 1930s for inspiration. That designwise was in general a pretty progressive time with lots of elegant lines, smooth surfaces, yet still visible mechanical parts. Here is a very good example. I would also look at airplane design, zeppelins and maybe even buildings. Partwise curved slopes short and long and radar-dish-types would come pretty handy. For a rounded front, something like Luke's Landspeeder has, could work nicely too: click! Anyway. I hope I could help you with some input! Have fun building!

Troll War Machines 3-in-1 set (vs Wood Elves)

These look great! Like real Lego-sets, which I assume is the intention. God, I really miss having a medieval-fantasy-theme...
