    [MOC] Merkabah - Space Gunship

This ship looks truly amazing! It dwarfs the Slave II not only by size, but also by looks

    [MOC]-Tesla Industrial Mech

This looks so lovely evil and massive - and properly steampunky. Love it

    LEGO City-Town Photography

These look cool! The lighting is incredible. It makes the scene really look like a real-life street. Please more of that!

    Rebuilding old city sets...

So lovely to see a happy Lego-collection rebuilt from the depths of time! Personally I don't mind wear and discolouration either, as long its not too extreme. Some slight yellowing on grey castle or spaceship parts actually adds some texture to a build.
  5. Very cool lines. I like it! It looks like proper TIE and has this aggressiveness from the Interceptor Just the cockpit window doesn't really fits though.

Vintage LEGO 6061 Siege Tower ! Review !

A very good review of a very good set I always loved the look of this siege tower. It just appears authentic, unlike the stuff Lego was throwing at us in the recent castle-waves

    Some steampunk stuff

They look very cool! Sizewise they are fine too. They are steam engines after all. And certainly not bigger than what Lego officially releases, so what

    minifigs for mocs

I absolutely agree. Sometimes you just have to wait till you find a bigger set, with a minifig you have an eye on, reduced. Its tedious sometimes, but i clearly don't endorse "fantasy" prices. Better wait and focus on something else in the meantime, instead of making a bad deal.

    [MOC] Not your typical X-Wing

funny you say that. Its just what they say about the S.E.5a, one of the classic biplanes of word war one (and one of my favs too): So yes, I can live with that comparison
  10. Your review is really outstanding! Very playful and fun - just like a good Lego set should be More of this please!

    [MOC] Not your typical X-Wing

Oh wow - now that you said it, I looked that ship up and it really has some similarities! I was totally unaware of that, haven't watched the prequels in years or paid much attention to the designs in them in general. (What might be the reason for that? ) Lets blame the brutalist-design they have in common for that

    Some steampunk stuff

Definitely! Its subtle but gives nice accents

    Some steampunk stuff

Thats a seriously epic looking rendering. The roadmaker simply rocks! As for the car: since it is more aristocratic - what about applying some gold on it to break up the wood?

Megablocks (sorry) Star Trek The Original Series!

This is clearly heresy, but - at least for the TOS-era ships, its damn good looking heresy I'm not impressed at all by the minifigs though and the Enterprise-D looks simply wrong so blocky.

    Some steampunk stuff

They look amazing! I love the slightly mad designs. You really caught the essence of steampunk with them The raw mechanical technic pieces on the roadmaker machine make it looks significantly mean and over-the top - just what you would expect from it! However I would give the car, which is on the far right side on the 2nd picture some more varied colours. Especially the sides. Maybe some added piping?

    minifigs for mocs

I was "fortunate" to at least come out of my dark ages, to the last wave of LOTR sets. I also got a couple of sets from the hobbit, but clearly, in either case it was by far not enough. The LOTR theme had so incredibly lots of potential. The sets were looking great (mostly) and the minifigs were lovely designed and printed. It really should have got the appreciation Star Wars got, but the direct competition with it only knew one winner sadly. Anyway, I sometimes buy smaller sets several times, to increase numbers. More often though I look at bricklink for complete minifigs or pieces to customize something together. Since I'm pretty freestyle with my world building, I'm fine with exotic combinations

'Masterpiece' classic sets for Lego Ideas

I like the idea of a regular masterpiece edition. It would be a nice treat AFOLs growing up in the 80s and 90s to see their old favourites all poshed up with the possibilities of today's bricks. And as you mentioned, it has been done before with the Imperial Flagship, Benny's Spaceship, the Kingdoms Joust and the Market VIllage, but only as one-offs really. Of course there would be inevitably a number of people who would argue that the improvements ruined the sets, but there will be always someone who complains
  18. Cool review! Very well written and photographed! it just made me liking the theme a little more, despite the dolls instead of minifigs all this cute evilness really picks a string on me. As for the chocolate and the booze i think she simply likes to treat herself from time to time. Being evil can be quite exhausting! So cheers to her!

    LEGO Ideas Discussion

I really did expect the yellow submarine to be chosen. Legorizing the probably most famous band in history (and in a very good looking variant too) is just a winner. I am however surprised by the apollo 11, especially since they explicitly asked for smaller sets in the recent past. Maybe it was saved by being upright? Smaller footprint and all that. A shame that neither the nautilus nor the victorian christmas market made it. The nautilus is just irresistible really. And the market is such an awesome looking set. I would have been fine with a smaller version of it too. Anyway, for the next round i cross my fingers for the fossil museum and the fishing store!

    Stickers in Lego Sets (opinion)!

I absolutely loathe stickers and I'm also pretty bad in applying them. Let's agree on that they don't like me and I don't like them. Printed parts FTW!

    [SoNE Freebuild - U-Wing]

Simple but elegant! I like it a lot. Looks like it cuts through atmospheres like a lightsaber through... people? Very nice design

    New Bricklink Format

The new design is certainly a step into the right direction. The old one was quite dated looking and just not up to today's standards. A pity that the pages for the individual stores still look much like before, as well as the stores-list. But maybe that will addressed soon. And yes, there will be always the complainer who wants stuff as they are used to it, even if it has its quirks and limitations, but a more tidy and efficient look is really needed on bricklink. People will get used to it. Important for me is that it isn't a step backwards in terms of usability and accessibility and if there are certain search-features missing now, they better implement them

    [MOC] Herr Red Baron

Very good! I think that is the closest you can get to this legendary plane in Minifig scale. Love it!

    MOCs: LEGO Aviation

This looks just amazingly realistic! Great work! Also that yellow waterplane reminds me a lot on a certain cartoon series from the 90s

[MOD] Death Star II Housewarming Party!

Thank you all for the replies! Nice to see my stuff produces a grin or two Lego is just ideal for busy "where is Waldo"-style pictures and once I start, the ideas usually simply flow. Star Wars makes it pretty easy too. Everybody knows the characters and especially Vader and the Emperor radiate this super-seriousness that makes it so inviting to make fun of them As for Darth Lavaria (yes, its not Bikini Maul!): That is pretty simple. I took her Minifig from the Ultimate Lavaria set and just added a black cape - that's it. I would also give her a black-hilted red lightsaber or two or a double bladed one to underline her chaotic wickendness- I really like that Minifig
