I am really tempted to build a couple of planes too Just need more propeller - this said, my last bricklink order is over half a year ago now...

I am very looking forward to the film. Especially Kate McKinnon is hilariously funny and I hope they can transport that to the big screen. About the car: apart from a few things i don't really like (rear door, lack of interior space in the back), it seems to be a worthy legorization. I will definitely get it!

They look amazing! You caught the spirit of the episodes perfectly. Very iconic

Prices are always about what the customer is willing to pay for really. I wonder how far TLG can turn the screw until there will be a plunge in interest and willingness to pay the prices.

LEGO Ideas Discussion
Littleworlds replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I am also pretty happy with the new guidelines. After all it should be about ideas. Which means in the best sense of the word, something TLG or submitters didn't come up with before. Finally an end to the endless stream of sameish-licensed sets there. And also an end to the mammoth-scale vanity projects some people submit - so yeah: healthy changes, good news! -
A nice glimpse into the glorious castle past. And it clearly makes me want more of the oldschool stuff I find it quite remarkable btw. that until very recently the actual helmets and weapons barely changed. That speaks for the quality of the design!

Beautiful! This can't possibly be done better. A great achievement of taste and building skills! The minifigs also create lovely scenes and make it really come alive

The super-laser is installed, the bar has been equipped, party decorations hung up, the PA is ready and all invitations have been sent – the dark side really knows how to party! While the emperor and Darth Vader raise a toast on this new jewel of interstellar destruction, a Stormtrooper discovers the wonders of Karaoke! The Inquisitor rules the catering department. Daft Tron on the turntables, Darth Lavaria has a chat with an imperial officer. Always the same story: he drinks too much, takes over the turntables and starts playing 70s disco… In the meanwhile, Darth Vader realizes that mixing Saurian Brandy with Alderaan-Whiskey (rare!) wasn’t a good idea. Of course he will blame the music. And he will clearly remember the usefulness of this duct at some later point… More pictures and (a review of the set) on my blog! I hope you enjoy the party just as I do

It is my favourite rebel fighter too. So nimble. I did never mind the weak shields: you just can dodge everything anyway This said, I really felt at home with the TIE fighters though Your A-Wing is simply superb! Elegant, sleek, with nothing fancy and unnecessary - just like an A-Wing should be. Ashoka will be happy to find her ride waiting for her when you get her

External Resources used when Building

That means more difficult, more booze? -
I watched the Jangbricks review on the lighthouses and the treehouses today and they make an amazing impression! The camper is spectacular too. The creator-theme is really developing into an awesome direction. Very inventive, very much in the spirit of oldschool lego

I would love to see a Star Trek TNG and the movies 1-6 theme. Realistic? Not really

This reminds me on the joy I felt when I put the pieces for my pirate-ship together (the first one Lego did of course) and I discovered that I didn't only had all sails and the yarns for the rigging. but also the anchor and every single piece to attach the sails at. I was really proud of myself. Such a good child I was

Very cool! Can't wait to see it the context of a throne room. Very promising

External Resources used when Building
Littleworlds replied to andrewganschow's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The tablet I am writing these words for google image search - and thats it actually. The rest is putting bricks together and separating them again till I am happy with the result. -
For this build I wanted to combine the classical Ralph McQuarrie desgin with some dieselpunk aesthetics from the 1930s and 40s, giving it an elegantly curved and streamlined look. Just think of the wind-tunnel designed cars and trains – and of course airplanes – of that era. It was also pretty clear to me from the beginning that the only possible colour this fighter can have is red. It just works so well with emphasizing its lines and gives the whole build a vibrant dynamic I wouldn’t have gotten in – say white or grey really. Oh, and my affinity for the biplanes of the great war played quite a role too. So see it as the Red Baron in space basically! I see the landing gear as provisional, so it can be easier put on display (and to make it easier to find a place to land^^) I really want to make it more elegant, while not sacrificing its stability. Sadly there isn't really much space where it is - but I'm sure there will be a decent solution coming up Anyway, apart from that I am very happy with it. It is stury and very swooshable and is a nice display piece For more pictures and musings about its design and stuff feel free to visit my blog!

Oh yes, it does! And your organ looks absolutely stunning

For a spaceship I built last year (about 40x36 cm, no idea about the piece-count), it took me quite a few attempts to get the layout right: I started with technic-beams I planned to use as structural foundation, but abandoned that idea, since they would have taken too much space. So eventually I laid out its footprint with plate-pieces, to get its proportions right and literally built up from that foundation, which turned out to be a very organic process. This reminds me that I really should take pictures of it! My steampunk-inspired castle, which hasn't been documented in pictures yet either, I originally wanted to make it from modular wall-elements, a bit like the LOTR sets a few years ago. I was never happy with the stability though and the limitations the hinges put on the design. So I went for the conventional "lets-just-use-a-ground-plate"-approach and that worked pretty nice. Its not not foldable or anything like that, but the actual building and decorating went smooth and so very naturally. I think, generally speaking, my building technique is about having an overall idea to start with, then testing layouts and approaches, whichis basically my planning phase, till I find something that works. The actual building process just flows. I have an idea in my head how it should look like, but that's it. Many ideas get modified/replaced as the building process happens.

[ESL-FB1] The Old Stone Church
Littleworlds replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Amazing little church! You got the look just right - from the stained glass windows, to the belltower, to the interior. Everything just says YES! I'm also quite happy that there is a healthy degree of religious acceptance and diversity. That's how it should be -
Lego themes that we would like to happen
Littleworlds replied to YellowCorvette's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I wonder right now if the success (at least in China) of the Warcraft movie will tempt TLG to get the license for it. I suspect though that they are still weary of the fail of their LOTR/Hobbit series and don't want to get into another medieval-fantasy adventure anytime soon. Also the success of the Nexo Knights speaks against that too. Of course I would happily buy any decent medieval fantasy set, regardless the license. Issues like that can easily be MOCed away Anyway, my speculation time is over for now.- 451 replies

Creator Expert 10252 Volkswagen Beetle
Littleworlds replied to CopMike's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The beetle looks absolutely lovely. Nicely round shapes, as a proper beetle should have, and it seems they got the interior pretty right too. I think the engine has even the same number of parts as the real one I was never happy with how the front looked like on the VW bus, but with the beetle they did everything right. I'm sure it will find a lot of buyers.
