Anyone know where to get these in the UK? There's plenty on ebay, but just wonder where people are getting them.

Are far as I know the factory in Mexico had issues with the mould for neck joint that simply didn't hold the wait of the head. These parts are being re-made or sent out to customers. The European factory was unaffected by this. None of this changes the the fact that the head spins round too easily, and as far as I can tell, Lego has no intent on re-designing it, so you're better off doing it yourself.

Hi Phon (I'm willp2003). binuche - that was the first thing I tried and the technic pin comes out too easily when you start moving the head round. The technic beam will push down on the socket and start to lever itself out. It works to a certain extent, but it's not solid. You can use the crank piece above and just use a technic axle to connect into the ball, but it's only held on by half a length, so Phon's method is more secure. This is my method (until I get the pieces and update it to Phon's.)

Yeah it's a moustache, but it needs more colour to stand out. Just looks weird IMO. Despite that, I'm glad I picked this set up, but it needs a display stand to look it's best.

Yes very similar. I preferred the look of them to the originals and I also thought they we're a bit flimsy.

Sorry to bring up and old topic, but I thought I'd add my update to this thread rather than create a new one. So I finally got round to modifying the bridge section, removing all the white bricks (except technic beams which I mentioned in a previous post), and removing all the trans-green blasters and replacing the side guns. I originally just modified the bridge using the existing set up, but I then decided to build a whole new one. It's still a bit too wide and tall, but it's a bit smaller than the original. Making it smaller means you can't put a minifig inside unfortunately.

I can't see that many stickers - a few Ferrari badges and 3 black stripes for each the front corners, and one over the rear wheel arches. No worse than the speed champions sets. Will have to wait for better pictures though. Getting the smooth curves required was never going to be easy, but I like it.

Not really bothered about the box art - the boxes end up in a cupboard in my house, never to be seen again! I agree that it looks a little dull, but I'd guess that's a preliminary box. Getting the stickers lined up on the corner of the front bumper might be a bit tricky. Looking forward to a better picture of the rear and the engine. that's my birthday present to myself sorted out :) edit: can anyone make out the dimensions? 14 x 27 or 28?

I have 7965 and I saw a new one on ebay going for £130+ the other day (with bids on it), so if you can pick one up cheap I'd say go for it. The only thing I don't like about it is the angles/size of the front wings/prongs (whatever they're called), so I'm hoping the new TFA one will be better and I can then modify my 7965. I'd love a UCS version, but I live in hope they'll release a new version, but I don't want to start that discussion again!

Wasn't the Slave 1 late this year though? I thought it was supposed to be the sept release but it was delayed and came out this year instead. So let's hope they count that as last year's and it means we still get two releases this year.

Heads up, Amazon UK have the some of the new sets in stock. Shuttle and final duel are there. Just ordered the shuttle.

Yeah I think the human ones (Luke, Obi) look pretty terrible in the facial deptartment, but Darth, Grevious look pretty good, so hopefully Boba will look good as well.

The UK has had 10% off UCS sets in the past (I'm sure I got Red 5 discounted last year). The US don't seem to get as lucky.If there's 10% off the sandcrawler I may pull the trigger, but otherwise I don't think I'll be getting anything this May (waiting for the Shuttle later this year). It will be too soon to offer a discount on Slave 1 IMO.

They may just update the minifigs on the new Death Star. It's the reason I haven't bought it. I helped my friend build his, but I wouldn't want to spend all that money now to get some old minifigs, when there is so much detail going into new ones. Looking forward to getting the shuttle this year, but it feels like a long time to wait.

Yep that shuttle is first on the to buy list. Nice play features as well. No idea where I'm going to display it though!

If you look at the 3 pics you can see 21 mini build/figs, and then also R2-D2, C3PO and his sleigh on the middle display, making 24. Shuttle looks good and will buy that, and I'll also get the calendar for the new jawa and trooper. UCS TIE is a bit of a let down, but then again there's not much they can really do with a design like that I suppose. Quite a few good other sets from other themes that I'm interested in as well, but won't go into that. Edit: Oh, and the Luke action figure is horrible, but the Vader one looks better.

The shuttle looks great and is an instant buy for me. 4 new minifigs, so that good. The final duel set is less impressive, but I'm not a big fan of scenes anyway. Will need to see better pics before buying it. The new vader fig is the best bit.

I haven't watched the films in a while - but did Chewy ever have camo on? Either way, the Shuttle is the set at the top of my buy list. I'm quite picky now, as I haven't really got room for any more! edit: yep, same question as markw

Love these, and supported it last week. Prefer the r500 version, but they all look great.

Yeah if that is the UCS TIE it's a pretty easy pass for me. I'll wait for better pics/confirmation, but I thought 9492 was pretty good. Looking forward to the shuttle pics though.

Don't get me wrong I hate the inflated prices, but you would be annoyed if you've paid a high price for something that you thought would never be released again, only for an exact re-release to come out. I hate people buying up things only to sell them on at a profit, but that's the world we live in unfortunately.
