A picture would help, but I have a fake one (I knew it was when I got it) but the hands on mine aren't and the printing on the chest is slightly different. I'm guessing a real one should be chrome all over. Try comparing it to the picture that bricklink uses

I assume it's 10178. Brick link have them at approx £200, but not sure if that accurately reflects what you'd get for it. There's some on eBay but I think a lot of eBay listings are just priced high in the hopes that someone will buy it.

My UCS TIE arrived today. Bit of a boring build, but it's so much more impressive than the pics. It's massive.

That would do for me. I never got the last DS as I wasn't a fan of the play set style. Will certainly pick up the snowspeeder, and will wait to see how they do the DS.

I agree with this. With the animated TV shows showing off a newer version, and also Cavegod said one had been seen (whether this was just a MOC or something that would become a retail set is yet to be seen), I think it's only a matter of time. 40th anniversary next year, so I'm hoping for something big. I'm not a fan of play set UCS sets (ewok village, hoth etc), so would much prefer the big vehicles. R2-D2 was the first UCS I got, so I've also missed out on the big sets from the past, and would love a remake.

Couldn't agree more. Yes there's a lack of anything to talk about, but it doesn't mean we should be using this thread to constantly go on about what you want or think should be coming next. We expect parts of the year where they'll be no new rumours or leaks. Let's hope we do get some actual info soon, as that's far more exciting than guessing.

Can someone tell me what the height of the UCS sandcrawler is? Looking at getting some new display cases, and I've been undecided whether to get the sandcrawler or not. If it fits then I might get it.

I display my shuttle with the wings down so it looks a lot bigger that way.

That must be a mistake. They were over priced anyway! I'm holding off buying anything. Might just pickup up a few new minifigs off bricklink.

I hope it looks something similar to the one that's been in the animated Lego TV series for ages. I've been hoping they would remake it, but i dread to think what the price will be!

4 UCS sets in a year sounds doubtful, but I'm very happy if that's the case. I think I can pass on the Hoth one, but the other 3 would be immediate buys (assuming they look good!).

That book has been out for ages, there's a new one coming in May called "chronicles of the force", which will have a new exclusive minifig.

Looks good! A lot more elegant than my quick solution. I see you've added a few extra tiles to the shuttle as well.

I think if you copy the top section (it fits really nicely in the base of the shuttle) you can then do what ever you want with the shaft and base. Thankfully the shuttle is quite well balanced, so you don't have to be exact trying to balance it all. Top section is 6 wide on the edge, 4 wide in the middle, and 5 studs deep. I'll probably swap the middle technic beams at the bottom (to 8 long, instead of 6) next time I do a bricklink order to make it look better, but it's just what I had.

This is what I put together pretty quickly. The base could look nicer, but I've since added a few more tiles. It's a bit wobbly due to the height, but no worse than the UCS X-wing stand. It's tiled on the top section so it just sits nicely on the frame of the shuttle and less so on the hinged door. I wanted to fill the gap so it didn;t move around on the stand, but can be easily lifted off. Excuse the rubbish mobile pic. Also need to swap out that grey piece for a black one.

Just watch the latest animated Droid Tales episode, hoping to see some giveaways about the UCS hoth base, but nothing really. There was a new Hoth Luke and Hoth Officer, and it showed the Hoth rebel from the advent calendar. Hoth Han looked the same as the promo version. There were some other bits and bobs (new Lando, Dagobah Luke, bounty hunters etc) but these have never been a good source for rumors. The carbon freezing scene was nothing like the set pics we've seen.

Just because there isn't much to talk about concerning rumours, doesn't mean we should talk about random stuff. These threads have turned to garbage in recent months. Sorry to rant, but it's annoying having to scroll through pages of utter crap. While I think we need a thread for general chat, which is less modified, I understand why such a thread wouldn't be created, as we'd have duplicate info in different places.

I had dismissed this set, but I might pick it up with double VIP points in October. I assume you could display it without the stand, and just rest it on the wings to try and avoid it bending?

I'm really hoping we get a new Tantive IV/blockade runner at some point. With it being featured in a lot of the animated Lego star wars shows and a different coloured version in Rebels, I'm hoping it will be made (although I always get my hopes up when I see the UCS Falcon in the animated shows!)
