    HELP! ! !

Hi, I was wondering if someone could permanently delete my account? I deleted my email liked to this, but it would be great if it could just be closed. Thank you.

    2016 Lego trains

The winter train is something that would be great! But just because it's winter themed, doesn't mean it has to have a holiday feel. A snowy steam locomotive?

    Lego Grocery Store WIP

Hey, hey, hey! Theo here, with a work in progress! Today I have the opportunity to show you my Grocery store modular. This was made up of random pieces (mostly from the Pet Shop, Palace Cinema, and Parisian Restaurant sets) from my collection, and is my best attempt at a Modular building MOC yet. This post will be rather picture heavy, so I'll try to make things brief. Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr This creation sits on a 32x32 grey baseplate. I haven't I been counting the pieces, but it must be somewhere in the thousands by now. Remember, this is still a WIP. Here's a view from the front... Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr ...and the back... Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr ...sorry, the back is pretty ugly, but the plan is to have it butting up to a wall, so it won't be seen. The hole next to the doors is temporary. I was originally going to put a garage door there, but I decided not too, as it would overly complicate things, and it wouldn't really matter functionally. Sometimes, you have to economize. And now for some exterior shots: Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr The sidewalk is pretty straightforward. It isn't completely modular-compatible, but it wont be facing a street either, so it's all good. Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr One of the main features on the front are the French doors. Here, one of the employees, Greg, is opening up the shop. A top view of the French doors: Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr The SNOT bricks above the doors will hold some detail later, I just don't know what. Any suggestions for some facade details? Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr The flag is just a temporary addition. I'll try to work through all the European flags. In the meantime, this shop is in The Netherlands. Here are some window details: Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr The billboard/shop sign is a work in progress. Eventually I will print off some stickers to put on it. Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr I didn't bother to post the chimney here, as it's really ugly, but in time I'll fix it. And now for the interior: Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr The entire first floor is the grocery shop. I modeled this (sort-of) after my local Whole Foods. I'm not sure if they have Whole foods stores outside of the US, but the idea is similar to any good grocery store: healthy, nutritious food, with a good selection. Unfortunately, my store doesn't exactly have optimal selection, but again, this is still a work in progress. Some random shots of the inside of the store: Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr And now, to the second floor... The second floor consists of a small coffee shop, and the in-store restaurant. It has a small counter, a brick oven, and various appliances. Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr Here, Larry the Pirate orders a coffee, and a cupcake. Pirates need their energy at the beginning of the day, you know. Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr So that about wraps things up for now. I will be coming back with updates as things progress. Comments, Praise, and anything else is welcome below. I'd love to hear from you all. Thanks again!

Hello everyone! Theo back with another update! Here, I have added a counter, and fixed that gaping hole in the back. It has been replaced with a SNOT roll-up "door". Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr I have also added another produce section. Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr Stay tuned!

    sidewalks with modular buildings

I have two types of streets planned for my city: alleys (no cars) and regular city streets. For my alleys, I simply tile the sidewalks with 2x2 tiles so that they will overhang by one stud. This allows me to place a small baseplate in between two modulars, and tile that. For my roads, I either tile onto my roadplate, or I keep the existing modular sidewalk, and simply put greenery and barriers on the road plate. Greenery or bike lanes really help to complete the mood and environment.

    Hi, Brick City here...

Hi everyone! My name is Theo, and I hail from the west coast of the United States. Besides LEGO, my other hobbies are model railroading/live steam trains and skiing. I currently work as a HR and distribution officer at a port. I am particularly interested in trains and town, particularly the modular series. Currently I have stuck to building MOCs, but in the near future, I may start a layout of my own... In any case, I'm happy to be here, and look forwards to being in this community! -Theo

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Sorry, I meant two of the half-modulars would cost the same as 1 CC modular.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I honestly think that a good way to keep the price the lower would be selling half-modulars. I think that it would get high demand, but still satisfy, as I could get two modulars For the price of one of the newer modulars. They retail for around $160 in the US, so that could work out well.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

That wouldn't surprise me. Most modulars take an unusual piece from other sets (like the unikitty tails from DO) and use them in a new way.

    Lego Grocery Store WIP

Thanks everyone! Yes, a bakery and a butcher are planned for the future-and yes, I do think that the olive green looks great- it has a sort of natural look to it that I feel is great for a grocery store. I'm planning on finishing the roof and façade first. Once I have that to my liking, I'll finish up the interior. Stay tuned :)

    [Mod] Dedective Office & Laundry

Wow! I will say, the colors look far better than the original. I also think that this setup is more realistic, in terms of what you would find nearby a small bar. Anyways, I think that this is really awesome!

    Lego Flatcar MOC

Hi Everyone. This is my first MOC on Eurobricks: an 8-stud wide flatcar. I build my trains, trucks, and buses in 8 wide, as it more realistically represents the scale ratio between Minifg and the real thing. It also allows for an aisle way with seats on both sides in passenger cars and buses. Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr The car was built mainly of random bricks that I have in my (small) collection. Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr It is made up of a frame mainly of 1x12's with 1x6's adding lateral support. The low-slung center was made of 1x2 inverted slopes, with 1x1 and 1x2 bricks to fill it in. Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr Note the missing inverted slope on the left side. I have since fixed that (whew!) Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr The deck is made up of 1x8 tiles in light and dark bley. I did this because A) I couldn't find enough 1x8's and B) It (sorta) looks like the deck is weathered. The studs in the center hold any cargo that needs securing. Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr I neglected to take a photo of how I attached the wheels, but basically, I used a regular 2x2 brick, and attached the train base with the technic peg into the center. It rolls and turns pretty freely, and I haven't had any problems with it (yet). Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr So there you have it! Suggestions, praise, etc. all welcome!
  23. What about using 1x1 round bricks in place of the 1x1 bricks? That might allow for an even tighter radius. I don't know if the monorail body could handle the curve, but it's worth a shot.
  24. Interesting. That actually seems more efficient than I thought. Takes up less space. Lego, one; my math, zero!

The emerald mountain. Do you have a separate file that shows only the mechanism? It's OK if you don't, I was just wondering.
