  1. Two great deals for me. 15 Years ago 1998, I could pick out a gift for my 11th birthday. In the toystore I found a brand new 8459 pneumatic wheel loader. On the price cart there was a price (in Gulden, about € / 2,3) which said either ƒ 109,00 or ƒ 189,00. The middle number wasn't clearly vissible. Then my mom said, "If it is 109 you can have it". At the cash register, the clark looked at it and said it was ƒ 109,-. No barcode reader installed. So I got it as my birthday present. At home I looked at the label again and it was ƒ 189,00. Every year the toy stores in the Netherlands give out a new toy book with their latest bargains (not). Every year they also have an action to draw more people in the store to buy more. This year at the end of September they had a 20 % off on all Lego. Ones I realized that this reduction was not on the Lego ShopatHome price but on their prices, I quickly went to the store and baught the 42009 Mobile crane. It was 1 of only 2 in a radius of 30 km around my house. Lego SaH price € 199,- Intertoys price € 159,- what I paid € 119,- That is a total of 40 % off. I still haven't opened it, although it is now past my birthday. Maybe something to build during the Christmas holyday.
  2. That looks great. I would suggest you make instructions.
  3. Ahh, "Rudolph the red-nose Raindeer"
  4. Towards the sets of this year, I would have to say that I am very enthousiastic about the Crane and the recovery truck. Lego has done the same thing a I did, (build a tow truck with 3 mechanical functions driven by a motor, 1 compressor and a pneumatic lift), but in a smaller model (I used 8285). This could be one of the most complicated models, simply by the amount of functions in such a small space. The crane is a must-have for me. It will be a very interesting build, simply because of the enourmous amount of parts (probably 1500+ pins). @Porty, Towards the car, this would be very interesting. Most of the things you listed could be in this car. The only thing Lego wouldn't do would be the 4-speed transmission. The reasons for this would be that the gearbox would either be too weak to power the car (in forth/third gear) and a reverse would be stupid, because the motor goes in both directions. Also, to operate this gearbox via RC you would need at least 2 extra servo-motors, which would make the model even more expensive. If there would be a gearbox I would love to see Lego try a 2-speed automatic. That way, the model would automaticaly speed up without overstressing the motor and you wouldn't need an extra servo.
  5. If one of the 2H sets would be RC, I guess they would be the 42011 racing car using an L-motor (or 2) not as far geared down as in the crawler. That would mean that we would get a model that, given it isn't too heavy, could reach 3 to 6 km/h.(in scale speed maybe 72 or 90 km/h(1:12 or 1:15 scale) It would be fun to have a original technic model that you would have to do at least a brisk walk to keep up with it.
  6. I would still love to see a walking robot (maybe a Technic-Asimo) Also a model of a Chinook would be great (the blades exist, and there is going to be a B-model with interleaved rotors) Maybe strange, but a PF-garbage truck would also be fun (a reborn of the bar-code truck) EDIT almost forgot, a re-issue of the legendary space shuttle with PF and pneumatics would be a dream come true
  7. I wonder what would be a better drive option for the Unimog - A XL-motor without reduction - A L-motor with reduction (1:3 or 1:5)
  8. LOL I especially like 'The world's most useless Lego machine'. The only thing it does when you turn it on, is that it turns itself off again. Nice use of an wind-up motor.
  9. Are you sure you didn't just use the hamsters to power this mod ? This would give the expression 'walking the plank' a whole new meaning. Cool thing. Proof that we could use a new Technic boat. If this were an original model it would sell.
  10. nr 2 : 1 point (cool working omnidirectional propellers) nr 3 : 1 point (never seen such a jeep, but cool build) nr 6 : 1 point (very original C-model, love the waterskier) nr 12 : 1 point (nice build from Unimog parts) nr 14 : 3 points (wonderful plane with an enormous amount or functions)
  11. I like this B-Model. The only problem is that this model doesn't seem to be available in the Netherlands. Even the Lego Shop-at-home doesn't have it. Only on Ebay for ridiculous prices (€ 149,- and higher for NL lots, € 120,- for German lots, but with up to € 20,- packing costs).
  12. The Logging truck 9397 is still not available in the Netherlands. Not in the bigger toy shop nor at the Lego Shop site. What is going on ?
  13. That will probably mean that in the Netherlands the helicopter will be around € 110,-. At that price I will not be sure if I still want to buy that. It looks very steep for a set with around 1000 parts and no PF-elements. You are forgetting the transport costs and the import taxes.
