Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
InnerRayg replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
No offense, but since when does anyone care that much about Mad Hatter? I always took him to be a c-Lister at best. -
No offense, but why on Earth would Lego ever do that? It's essentially an identical mold scaled down, and Lego doesn't give two Hoots about accurate scale, they just want to give you dinosaurs that can bite minifigs. Literally all those ideas would work just as well with the indominus mold and a new head rather than investing in an entirely new body, legs, and tail.

I'm actually really disappointed that those old things are getting revisited, especially when I thought there was a chance for more Adventure Time and Doctor Who, but Nightmare Before Christmas is amazing!

How on Earth would they make a gauntlet that fits bigfigs and minifigs and have room for five of those stones on the front??

"Being lazy" doesn't make sense as a criticism. It's not like someone was on the schedule to make those prints, and they just skipped that day. If there's no leg prints or dual molding it's a business and financial decision, and has nothing to do with lack of effort. Frankly I could see two different arguments that would make sense, either because these are Infinity War sets, they know that they will sell no matter what quality they are, or they don't expect these to sell as well as people think they will, and so going overboard on expenses would be a detriment.

Pretty obvious they put their money where they expect the most return. That's kind of the key thing everyone in this topic seems to miss. They act like this movie will sell more toys than Lego has ever done before...but the company pays experts a lot of money to figure out what's going to produce profits and what won't in an unbiased way. If you want these highly detailed, super accurate designs the cost has to be justified. If they're not putting a ton of effort into these, it's because they don't see a reason to. And frankly, what a bunch of adults have been waiting ten years for means diddly to a company that's catering to people who haven't been alive for ten years.

Maybe we will be lucky and the Indoraptor just uses the old body with a new head mold?

It's always amazing to me how much AFOLS hate Lego's style. Simplified is kind of the defining trait of the design. Obviously this is real, just like the Black Panther ones that "looked fake" were.

Well, you know how five year olds are. Won't even play with a toy if it's not screen accurate.

I like your illustrations, but they do have one glaring problem. You seem to have a bad tendency to make the hair and headpieces really thin and low to the Head, when in reality the you'd need more thickness in the new hairmolds to make sure they don't break. I think this will also help some of them look a little more authentically "Lego". Finn and Gaston are particularly good examples of this; I doubt their hair would even cover the peg if they were genuine plastic. Your bodies are perfect so the hair stands out as an issue.

You uh...realize someone still has to buy the joker Manor for you to get that figure right? Working just as intended. -

It's not like he's going to be the main badguy, it wouldn't be a shock if he doesn't show up. -

Can you tell us if the Catwoman in the space shuttle set is the same as always? -
Weird, it's almost like there's going to be some kind of big media push for Harry Potter next year. It's almost like it's starting to make sense that there be some Lego sets.

The rumors are from a reliable source. The fact that this thread exists is testament to the reality of the coming sets; the moderators don't allow any old rumor its own discussion thread. In any case yes, if you take out the primary market of children, there wouldn't be as much demand for Harry Potter. You are certainly correct.

Why would you assume they'd prefer large rooms to the small vignettes? They did the same thing with the Batman mansion, can't see why they'd not do it here.

Boomerang is funnier than those guys. -
Oh, you're talking about AFOLs. Sure, they care. They also don't matter. They barely even register on the sales charts compared to kids, and kids do not care about leg printing.
