Honestly, I think this is a good sign, there may be set yet to come with those figures. especially if they're making a point not to put an exclusive Batman in the other set it really doesn't make sense that they would make these exclusive.

kind of sounds like you're just mad they're not doing one off sets for old movies you like, instead of doing one off sets for new movies you don't necessarily like.

Maybe not a Brick Built Rex, but I think the Fossilized Skeleton Rex is super possible.

No there isn't. If there was a set they'd have made sure it was on the shelves when the movie came out.

Lego puts the money where they think it'll do them the most good. Spider-Man is always the top seller. Makes complete sense.

I've never seen it listed in the annual report as a top seller, the amount of investment in prints and new molds seems to have gone down, and DC seems to be more marketed (the movies, the games, etc). I am inferring that Marvel doesn't do as well as DC and am generally a pessimist, so I find it hard to believe a good thing will last forever. Obviously this is just my speculation without any hard numbers.

What you guys really should be worrying about is what the lack of printing means about the sales for Marvel sets. They are gonna put their resources where it will serve them best, if they aren't seeing a good return lack of printing may be the least of our issues. I think that's what the big Spider-Man push maybe about, bring the money maker front-and-center to help keep the line alive.

You know, it's almost like the reason they keep redoing the same villains is because they're trying to reach people who haven't bought these sets before, like maybe not the adult collectors? Maybe children who are just getting into superheroes and weren't even old enough to buy sets 3 years ago?

Using the pencil tool will give you hard raster edges that will be unattractive zoomed in - the cleanest method is to make a new layer below the lineart, setting the lineart layer to multiply and coloring with your favorite method on the layer below. Magic Selection with a bit of a feathered edge would probably be the fastest way to select the areas needing color.

Is it not a possibility that they don't do much setwise for A4? I feel like they could be avoiding oversaturation since a lot of A3 sets will still be on shelves.

I think more than one running around would actually be totally in spirit of the Lego Movie. Its all part of his collection, and how many different Batman figs do kids have these days? Makes total sense that he'd have a few variations of each character.

Done a lot of market research to come to those conclusions have you? How many customers did you interview? Did you do online surveys? What was your methodology exactly? Whatever it was, it must be impressive to have so clearly shown what a billion dollar toy company couldn't figure out. Please, post your data!

All you really need to know is that they physically released Doctor Who sets. Then they stopped. It's not a case of the license not being theirs, or them never even giving it a shot, or even them just being ignorant to a phenomenon as the company sometimes is. They had sets, and now they don't. Lego is a business, and if they saw this massive desire for more, they'd have done something about it because businesses love money. Everyone complains about how much Star Wars stuff there is, but the reason is because the line basically prints money. If there was that kind demand for Who, it would have been supplied.

Lack of source on this info aside, There's a big difference between pursuing these licenses and having them. I don't think you can assume they have all of these, or even most of them. A lot of them seem like a huge stretch even for Dimensions. Cool, dunno why it's impossible to delete the unrelated quote but it is.

So the rumor is in the US the Groot keychain is available in Target, has anyone had any actual luck finding him there? I can't seem to find him despite Brickseek saying he's in stock.

I don't think there will be a lot of exclusives in the D2C, I wouldn't be surprised if there's only one or two figures in it
