I mean, no? They don't? Collectors buy those lines. Theyre completely different demographics...and what kid is going to turn away a sweet robot for "tony stark's office" or whatever? Call me crazy, but I still trust the billion dollar toy company to have a pretty good idea about what kids like. -

Thank you. The movie sets are popular when the movie comes out. Spider-Man is forever. Anyway I'm not saying they wouldn't have MCU inspired designs. They will 100% have some. It just won't be an MCU only "fill the holes in my movie collection" set. That's a pipe-dream. It'll be like the Avengers sets this year, with tweaked designs of looks inspired by the films as well as variants from cartoons and classic appearances. The majority of spots will be taken up by new variants of existing fan-favorite characters with four or five oddball choices to please the hardcore collectors. Just like the DC CMF. -

No, I'm talking a Miles Morales variant. Not to mention a Venom. There's always a Venom. You guys need to stop thinking like collectors and think like Lego. They don't care about filling the gaps in a collection, they want kids to see their favorite characters on the packaging. -

It's not mixed. It would be Marvel characters with designs from various eras. Just like the closest possible comparison CMF, the DC Minifigs. You had 1st appearances, famous comic variants, cartoon versions, and lots of fan favorite characters. I think an "MCU only" CMF is completely unrealistic. For one thing it's going to cut out 90% of the Spider-Man figures they will want to include. You have to have a Spider-Verse fig in there somewhere. -

It has nothing to do with Lego "liking" the video game designs. The licensor tells Lego what they want. Marvel wants to promote the videogame. Same reason you always get Batman Batman Batman in DC. That's what DC wants. Lego is not the problem. -

I would imagine it's a simple matter of branding. Those pieces are specific to the Lego Batman Movie characters. So you wouldn't use them in another set because that Joker isn't Lego Batman Movie Joker, he's just "a" Lego Joker. Think of it like how a blue spaceman figure isn't the same as Benny, even if they are "the same". Honestly, that's probably the entire reason they made those pieces. Each one of these versions of the characters would be special to the movie -

Lego superheroes theme in some variation or another has been going for almost a decade. That's almost 10 years of data on what sells and what doesn't. if they're only releasing vehicles it's because that's what sells. You guys keep bringing up all these sets from the past that were really good play sets and buildings. If those sets did so well, they would make more of them. They are a business. They follow what works. -

If Angry Birds had done that well they'd have made more of it, especially when Angry Birds 2 came out. That's how you tell if it was successful.

it kind of seems to me like they're very softly rebooting the entire superheroes line and have been since last year, Batman and Spider-Man got all their must-haves done last year, and now Avengers is getting the same treatment. Comic Mysterio and Venom are easy to see coming, they will always have characters that are in the movies on the shelves. this year it looks like DC is expanding out a little bit, with the collectible minifigure series, maybe the same will be true of the next wave for Avengers and Spider-Man? -
