So, looking at the Steampunk Star Wars mocs I've built, I realized I never made a model in Moodland (or slightly larger than Miniland) scale. This is loosely based on my Moodland scale AT-RT from a year ago, but, obviously, Steampunkified! Here's a close-up of the controls. I REALLY obsessed over adding as much detail as possible and adding detail to every part. And, of course, a parting rear shot. Apart from this thing not being poseable, because of the skeletal design of the legs, I'm really proud of this and consider it one of my best builds. What do you guys think?

[MOC] Steampunk AT-RT (Moodland Scale)

Thanks! I feel like I have a knack for Steampunk, especially walkers.- 15 replies

Haha! Well, they don't HAVE to be, but it doesn't hurt. And it certainly helps draw in fans and comments. My next set of figs will be Lady Vader and her Femtroopers, after I order some more parts. I do plan on Hannah Solo and Chewie-liscous as well.

Hahaha! Leave it to me to shake things up. I'm glad you like the face because that was actually the hardest part to design. Thanks for blogging me too.

Well, you'll be pretty disappointed, since I plan to build a series of female SW characters. Sorry. Ha! Nicely worded.

Thanks! I had fun with this one.

Another brilliant and super-detailed build! I love the stain glass in the church window, not to mention Palps at the pulpit.

Very nice! There're all kinds of nice parts usage in those engines.

These are great and incorporate some interesting pieces. The only thing that urks me is that there are no cannons on the X-Wing's wings. I wonder if you couldn't reverse those doors so you could attach bars to the the door handles?

Thanks, dude! Ha! Looking at the pics now, I agree: I should've made the smokestacks higher. Oh well. Maybe if I build a V2.- 15 replies

[MOC] Steampunk AT-RT (Moodland Scale)

Thanks! I guess I do tend to use a bit of specialty parts. I would be quite flattered if Lego used a similar design for their Miniland set up.- 15 replies

[MOC] Steampunk AT-RT (Moodland Scale)

Thanks! That's the main thing I try to achieve: make it look like it could work in real life. Thanks, Doc, and thanks for blogging this! I agree, in retrospect, I could've made the smokestacks taller. The most fun of this was taking aspects of the "real" walker and turning those parts into Steampunky bits like you pointed out.- 15 replies

I'm seriously at a loss for words. This must have taken months/years to build. Beautiful! -

Wait, aren't you already running things? Ha! Congrats, my friend! -
Really! After I've already said not to mention it? Plus we'd like to do something for this outside our comfort zones. I was joking, dude! The only problem I would see with building alternate SW things from a non-SW set, is that each entrant would have to have money to buy an alternate set. It wouldn't be fair to those who don't have a job or money (like me).

I actually like the black instead of dark red. The landing gear technique is pretty smooth, too. -

Looks pretty cool! I love that you were able to add the skull to the front. I'm thinking this might look better with some tiles added to the sides? -
Way to be a follower ISC! Ha! I love that you made the R5 variant.

Another brilliant (and quite funny) build! Love the Gungun getting roasted.

How about Steampunk? Well, I believe the next logical step would be an EU CB. Obviously, that could be split up into various timelines/time frames.

Thought I'd take a break from fig building to focus on what got me into moccing in the first place: mini SW builds. Also, it's been a year since I built anything in the Steampunk theme. As with all my builds, I tried to add as much detail as possible. Here's the furnace/engine. This ship includes rotating wings, front panels that open to reveal a cannon, and a moving ramp underneath. I do plan on building this in minifig scale at some point. Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks, man! Minifig scale version coming very soon!
