Ideas for New Action Themes
punkkid364 replied to Perry the Platypus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I had a thought similar to this earlier this week. It could be called "Great Detectives" or something similar, and be a team of detectives stopping steampunk super villains. Like a steampunk Agents series of sets. It has potential to be really good, I think. -

You can choose the gender, but the Old Republic series needed a clear canon version of Revan, so one was decided upon. Since wookieepedia uses ALL of these as a source, Revan is referred to as a male. I'm still glad he's getting made at all. -

I'm going to try and get my hands on one. A Revan fig is on my short list of LSW products I want. -
How about one of the Jedi Temple Guards from the last arc in season 5? Yellow double bladed light sabers for all!

Joker's Steamroller. Great figs and a unique build.

Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary CUUSOO set Discussion
punkkid364 replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think that it comes down to whether or not you could build a theme out of it. Once you do the DeLorean, where do you go with BTTF sets? Nowhere. CUUSOO is a PERFECT outlet for single set licenses like BTTF or Ghostbusters. I'd be a lot more upset with a set from say Star Wars or Batman getting approved than a set from a license we might not see otherwise. I disagree with the idea that licensed sets make them less creative. Finding the right bricks to match shapes or colors, or how something looks in a movie is definitely a skill, and I applaud that skill when I see it. -
Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary CUUSOO set Discussion

I'm stoked. I've been pulling for this one since I first saw it on CUUSOO. Doubly excited since Ghostbusters is my all-time favorite movie. -
The Batcave is still available at S@H, brand stores, and I've seen it at Target and Walmart both in the last week. I don't think you've missed it yet.

But, apparently, ONLY in the US. I changed the region setting a few times on the S@H site, and they were available everywhere else.

So I'm working on an MOC that, at this stage, I am thinking will be pretty detailed, both in terms of structure (the walls and things) and the furnishings. I was wondering whether people added details as they built, or got the broad strokes down and went back for detailing (which might require rebuilding or rearranging sections) or a combination of the two. I'm at a point where I'd like to get others' input on how they do it before I go any further.

Double Feature Review Part II: 75025 Jedi Defender-class Cruiser
punkkid364 replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I picked this one up at my brand store this morning. At first I was disappointed it wasn't on the shelf, but I asked an employee and he brought one out of the back for me. It was a good build with great figs. This review sold me on it. Great job. -
I bet what will happen is we will get a different version of Spidey than the SDCC one. Maybe he'll have plain dark blue legs instead of red with blue printing. That is, assuming we get ASM2 sets at all. I'm hoping we do.

He seems to be based on the Ultimate Electro (Earth-1610).

I've been thinking about sets based on ASM2, and I did a little research. Disney bought back the merchandising rights to the character shortly before the release of the first ASM...which probably kept the current deals in place for that film. Now that Disney/Marvel have a contract with LEGO, I wouldn't be surprised to see sets based on the new movie. I also wouldn't be surprised if we didn't get any sets either. Spidey is my favorite super hero so I'm trying not to get my hopes super high...but they are. :) Edit: I'm not sure if the SDCC exclusive fig is a good sign or not.

The new legs look so much better than the old unprinted ones do.

Actually, Nickelodeon bought the rights to the entire franchise a couple of years ago. The original writers are allowed to release comics through their Mirage label, but the characters and situations ALL belong wholesale to Nick. I think it's less likely that we'll see classic sets simply because TLG wants to ride the coat tails of what's happening NOW, as opposed to what happened 20 years ago. Think of when all the licensed themes were released, even Star Wars. There was new material coming to sustain those lines. If we were going to see classic TMNT, it would have been in the first wave, like POTC or Indiana Jones. And it hurts to say that, seeing as how every day of my childhood was ruled by Turtles. I'd love to see the Technodrome, Bebop and Rocksteady, etc. but I just don't think we will, unless they show up in the new show.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
punkkid364 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Since it's Norman Osborn in the Iron Patriot armor, doesn't Sony technically have the rights to that character? The other options that they can base it on the comics, like they did with this year's Wolverine set, or Doom showing up in next year's Spider-Man set, even though Fox has the movie rights to that character. My understanding is that TLG can't produce the versions of characters that appear outside of their contract, but can still produce the characters based on other source material. -

On some figs, maybe. Others, like Spider-Man, could use SOMETHING to break up too much of one color on it. -
Awesome. Thanks for doing it, I know it's a lot of work. I can't wait to build one!

All of these look great! Any chance of getting instructions or a parts list? I think I like the design and scale of your Tumbler better than any other that I've seen.

Actor With Most Minifig Representations Within a Span of LEGO Licenses
punkkid364 replied to tin7_creations's topic in LEGO Licensed
Actually, the Griphook fig is from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, where the character was played by Verne Troyer. Warwick DID play him in Deathly Hallows 1&2, but there was not a fig made from these movies. He ties at 3.
