I ordered the Homing Spider Droid, Carbon Freezing Chamber, Hoth Attack, and Droid Escape Pod on sale from TRU. I got a used 75038 Jedi Interceptor to go with Obi-Wan's Interceptor. I also picked up a used 75058 MTT despite all of the negative reviews. I can see why so many people are disappointed with it. It's too small. It has some cool play features with all of the compartments that flip open but it's lacking as a display set.

I used to keep the spare parts in separate bags but I eventually stopped doing that and now I just add them to my parts collection. Yesterday I was building the 75044: Droid Tri-Fighter and it was missing a 2x4 DBG wedge plate and I ended up with an extra 4x2 dark blue wedge plate. That was the only time a set was ever missing a piece. Luckily I had the missing piece in my parts collection. -

Does anyone know if the new Rebels Vader's Tie Advanced is in the same scale as the 2012 Eposode IV Tie Fighter, X-Wing and Y-Wing? It seems small. -
The Sandcrawler is my favorite set. I love everything about it. The Ewok Village is also a pretty sweet set but it's not UCS.

This thread is inundated with discussion of the cost of sets and minifigures. Can we open another thread for that discussion?

LEGO doesn't price their sets based on piece count. They call upon the dark side of the force to come up with a price that will extract the most money from their lowly customers.

It'll be the best $300 you've ever spent! -
[MOC] Display Stand for 75149 Resistance X-Wing Fighter
jdm44 replied to mediumsnowman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Good job. I like how the stand is simple and doesn't distract from the ship. I would also consider building it if you posted instructions. -
Picked up the 75085: Hailfire Droid for $17.99 at Target. I wasn't sure if I wanted this set but I'm a sucker for a discount and the Clone Lieutenant is worth more than half the price of the set so I figured why not.

How does one obtain a 20% off TRU coupon?

Ok then I hope it's just a sphere with no playfeatures and one blue astromech droid minifigure.

I really like the Tie and the Transporter. They're both really solid and well designed. The Tie is more swooshable and it looks better but the Transporter is a better playset because you can load it with troops. Takodana sucks. -
Or google lego rogue one and scroll through the images!

The minifigures look fantastic. I like how much variety there is with the weapons. The builds look good too. The black shuttle is the only one that doesn't really impress me. Hopefully the movie will change that, and hopefully the sets are more accurate than the first TFA wave.

Sixthed. There's so many good sets from 2013 & 2014. Just picked up a few used sets from ebay. 75040: General Grievous' Wheel Bike 75042: Droid Gunship 75015: Corporate Alliance Tank Droid

Modding Tie Advanced Prototype (75082) into Vader's TIE (75150)?
jdm44 replied to appiah4's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The rear end of each ship is also different so it's not as simple as changing the panels. Are you trying to make an exact copy of the new Tie with parts from the Prototype? If so you could compare their parts lists to see what else you would need. -
Wow you did a phenomenal job on this ship. I also like ep. 1. It's my favorite of the prequels.
-
That's what I was thinking. I'll probably still get it because the exterior looks good. Maybe a slight mod of putting some seats where the walker goes will improve the interior.
-
The lack of interior space in the new CTT is disappointing. I really like it when vehicles can fit a lot of minifigures like the Sandcrawler, AT-AT and Millennium Falcon. I think it adds an extra level of detail to the set.

The UCS Hype. What will 2017 bring? (40th Anniversary)
jdm44 replied to Major_Ton's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm really hoping for a UCS MF or ISD. Next year would be a good time to realease either one because of the anniversary and they're both featured in new movies. I'd be happy with a non UCS Tantive. -

I wouldn't get the Hoth set because it has terrible reviews and will most likely be discounted in the future. The decision between the UCS Slave I and the Millennium Falcon is close but I would give the edge to the Falcon. The Slave I is a better display model but the Falcon is more iconic and has a lot more play value. I bought the 75105 without minifigures and got the newest OT Han, Luke, Chewie, Obi-Wan, R2 and 3PO to go with it. It's my 2nd favorite set behind the Sandcrawler. -
Spectacular! I love it. I hope you do more.

Did you ship it back after building it or was it still new in box?
