    MOC - Lego Airport

This is awesome, I am a fan of this era of airplanes and airports too and had 6396, new aircraft are just way too big. With this era, you also had runways and this models shows that a decent airport takes up a lot of space. I can imagine when more space is available, the other side of the pier could be opened up for more airbridges and planes - never enough room!

What was your first major City/Town building?

Just signed up and came across this old thread. I received police station 6386 for Christmas one year under the tree - did not expect anything this cool to be there for me. I am now working on some ideas to refresh the model with a bit of an update.

    Happy New Year!

Happy new year all. Really excited about joining this lego community. I grew up in NZ in the mid 80s and early 90s with sets mainly from legotown and also some 80s space technic and early pirates. For years I have been constructing in my mind different town/city sets. Now living in Sydney, my major problem has been a lack of space - even for storage. Financially, I am in a good position to be able to buy sets and supplies. Last year (2015) I purchased for my infant son 70402 The gatehouse raid and 7094 kings castle siege. Most people realise that these sets were for my own enjoyment. So although I don't yet have a lot of room, I am keen to start working on developing some moc scenes. I plan to start with turning my recent castle purchases into some old city walls, followed by a monastery (so I can then have a brewery), church and town square. I feel I need to update my knowledge on building techniques, so am keen to purchase a modular set. Does anyone have a good idea on which set to start with? I recently returned from NZ with half my old sets, so will need to get down to some cleaning and organising, second half should arrive sometime in 2016. The future will hopefully see some trains and a subway system to be set below the town. I have never touched a lego train so have little knowledge other than what I have read to understand how these work. I am in London in February and plan to visit one of the lego shops, no idea yet what I should be purchasing! So here goes...
