Giving credit where credit is due... or not
Dazmundo replied to AmperZand's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think it is polite to give credit or perhaps more accurately state where you saw this used which inspired you to do the same. You didn't see whoever first came up with it and even if the moc you saw had credited the original that still wouldn't have been the moc that inspired you, the new one would have been! D- 9 replies

How do you store your instructions?
Dazmundo replied to ResIpsaLoquitur's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's exactly what I use, I have lever arch files with a mixture of A4 single pocket, twin pocket & 4 pocket protectors for the different sized instructions. http://www.staples.co.uk/filing-binders-organisation/filing-folders-pockets/punched-pockets/heavy-duty-embossed-pockets http://www.staples.co.uk/martha-stewart/martha-stewart-binders-accessories/martha-stewart-sheet-protectors/sheet-protectors-2-sections-a4-clear?r=rh http://www.staples.co.uk/martha-stewart/martha-stewart-binders-accessories/martha-stewart-sheet-protectors/sheet-protectors-4-sections-a4-clear?r=rh D -
Bit disapointed with the sessions, We'd have probably gone in the middle of the day as that would fit best around the kids, but that is not an option :( D
-
I don't understand the session 1, session 2 bit, does that mean if you go in the morning, you get thrown out at lunchtime? can you not stay all day? D

If you are going to get into collecting the modular buildings (Parisian Restaurant, Town Hall, Pet Shop) you should probably take into account which have been out longest too as they will be retired soonest Fire Brigade Grand Emporium, Pet Shop, Town Hall, Palace Cinema, Parisian Restaurant They are all great builds :) D
-
They probably can't remember how they packed it. It was almost 5 years ago!

PRINTED "UN" BLUE HELMETS
Dazmundo replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Over 3 years wait! I hope they are worth it :-) D -
My wife was in Asda today and picked up some of the blue suitcase junior sets for half price, will make very good birthday presents for my daughters friends. D

My sons are 21 months and my daughter is 4 next week. We have a box of Duplo that the boys can access when ever they like and a box of Lego that has a lid so my daughter can get in but the boys can't. However if we get Lego out the boys happily play with it and have done since they were not much more than a year old. I see the age on the box as a guide only, it is very much down to individuals. D

Not even available in the UK

Gutted! Just realised this morning that I hadn't entered :( Sometimes children really get in the way of my Lego ;) Good luck everyone who is slightly more organised than me D

A VW Beetle is one car I'd love to have driving round my Lego City (seeing as I have one sat outside on my drive) I think this is a really cute car but it doesn't shout Beetle to me. I have to say I don't think I've ever seen a Beetle in this scale that has, and maybe I'm being too picky. I'm not sure what they lack or what you could do to improve it but it's just not quite Beetle enough for me. It is a great little car though. D
-
Thia has got my interest. I always love looking at the entries in the WV contest each year but I don't have the skills or bricks to build something on that scale, where as this contest I am thinking I might be able to have a go at :) D

It is interesting to see who people think would be 'instantly recognisable' I wouldn't be able to pick Franklin, Washington or FDR out of a line up of photos so I can't imagine that a minifig of them would be any more recognisable, however I can see Henry VIII & Queen Victoria both being recognisable as they had very distinctive styles that are well documented. I guess the issue with something like this is, what is recognisable to one person may not be to someone else. D

Name Brick are UK based http://www.namebrick.co.uk/ Not used them myself so don't know anything about the quality or service D

Received a bricklink order today. Included an iron man minifig and a load of bits and pieces taking me one step closer to finishing my green grocers!

We went today, first time at a Lego event and we were very impressed. Had 3 small children with us so didn't get to spend the amount of time id have liked looking at each display but didn't really have much difficulty getting into a position where i could see what i wanted to. The medieval display was our favourite bit too, was 8 different people who built it, each section had its own info. Not sure if Brickish members get more access? Without kids\crowds D
-
Just received a couple of minifig orders from bricklink so i now have wonderwoman and 5 workmen in orange hi-vis just need some white hard hats then they will be ready for my wifes desk at work along with some train track and a road-rail vehicle, she is a design engineer for network rail.

Your entire collection (sets only) when you were a kid
Dazmundo replied to SheepEater's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This is a link to the sets I own http://www.brickset.com/search/?Page=1&owned=1 everything 1992 and earlier was from before my Dark Ages. Didn't get back into Lego till the collectable minifigs came out in 2010 but I do have some sets from the early noughties that I must have bought at the time so it shows I was dipping in even in the Dark times. D -
I am sat looking at that with my mouth hanging open. That is stunning!
