When Should Ninjago End?
Metanoios replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Sci-fi pirates is a cool idea, but Star Wars is kind of blocking the space/sci-fi genre not Ninjago. I hope that Star Wars tanks even more in the future (or gets significantly less shelf space) so that it opens room for other space themes again. The prices with the Disney license are becoming ridiculous. They will milk it till the last fan looses interest -
When Should Ninjago End?
Metanoios replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The new wave looks promising. They can go at least a few years. Also young children don't own any of the previous sets, so for a young mind it is still new and fresh. The problem is your skewed vision as an "older" customer. That is the curse of aging. Nothing is new, just a slight variation of previous ideas and concepts. I mean the wheel got quite repetitive after a few thousand years... Hollywood is making the same movies for 30 years now. Fast and Furious 25 is still gonna a be a big hit with the Rock as an old man -
It's tan or an overexposed dark tan

8 new moulds so far. In the first Harry Potter cmf we did get 12 (not counting the wands). So there is room for some more interesting pieces.
-
I see your point but for me as a castle-/fantasy-MOCer the hair piece with the ears is much more useful like this. Thy can still give him a mould down the line, because by the looks of it this theme could stay a long time.
-
They wouldn't let sellers like the one in the LUG forum order already if it was pushed till next year.
-
I think Hermione will be the winter version from Deathly Hallows or the cat version from Chamber. Firenze is likely because of the new mould from the centaur set. Cho in the Yule Ball outfit is unlikely because they could put her in the calendar. Kreacher is far more likely with the diadem Since they are revisiting Chamber with Myrtle, Dumbledore and Sprout, maybe Ron is in Slytherin Robes as Crabbe

It's the book "Advanced Potion Making" from HBP
-
Maybe it's an early mock-up and not the final design. Definitely doesn't compare to the normal packaging design we usually get in cmf series
-
The left shoulder of Kingsley looks weird. It could be a cloth render or this is photoshopped. I want this to be real because of Dumbledore and Sprout but it could well be fake. The compositioning with the mandrake and the monster book is also subpar.

The delay is propably because of the Corona virus. The Lego factory in Zhejiang is in a province which is currently under quarantine and is the 4th most seriously hit province by the virus. Most of the parts for the cmfs come from this plant in China. Because of the disturbances in the supply chain this might even affect other sets and licenses soon

That D-O is way to expensive. Even on the box there is mostly empty space... -

I think the picture of the Friends animal I saw was supposed to be a llama or is there also a sheep in one of the others? -

There is an alternative picture where you can clearly see that it is two pieces. The helmet fits over the old beard piece. -

The beard is a seperate piece from the new Viking helmet. Looks like the Santa beard in orange -
The display models at the Lego World Copenhagen show that these do have wires and are basically just rebranded kits from "light my bricks" (you can see their logo on the expansion boards). The images on the boxes are even the same ones from their website: https://www.lightmybricks.com/products/hogwarts-castle-71043-lego-light-kit https://www.lightmybricks.com/products/lego-tree-house-21318-light-kit The prices for the cables with a few LEDs attached are way too high. Similar components are easy to get online for a fraction of the price.

Chinese New Year’s Sets 2020 - Rumours and Discussion
Metanoios replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great sets! So many new recolours and I guess new prints, because some (like the printed red 2x3 and teal 1x2 tile) are used in both sets. The tan stud with bar is also a great new addition -
The torso is from 80101 Chinese New Year's Eve Dinner combined with a vibrant coral 1x2 brick

My purist versions of Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia: Petunia uses the face of Edna Mode from the 2nd Disney CMF Harry and Ginny before Quidditch tryouts (added the dual-moulded legs to the old torsos): And finally Young Dumbledore and Grindelwald:

I don't usually like to cut Lego as well and I am all for purist customization. But the diameter of the snake fits perfectly in the bar stud and I just don't see any other way to recreate the snake wand/staff of Lucius right now. If you have a better idea, please share. Maybe they will release his staff in the next Harry Potter Cmf series, but until then this is the solution I'm content with.
