The 80012 monkey king warrior mech set (1629 for 129.99) has almost the identical piece count and price and it is definitely a play set. Flower fruit mountain or bigger ninjago sets also have similar ppp for their big flagship sets so it is possible for a normal play set to have this ppp (just not a Disney Star Wars or Marvel set because you have to pay the mouse toll)
-
76395 with 264 pieces for 29.99 is a normal play set like the horntail or forbidden forest: umbridge encounter. The 39.99 for 597 is similar to the quidditch set which also had a very good price to piece ratio (500 for 39.99) or the Hedwig brick-built owl set (630 for 39.99)
-
Just a guess but 75392 (876 pieces for 69.99) will propably be a wizard chess set. Promobricks did a new article concerning the history of lego chess sets and if we take the previous chess sets (with side builds and minifigs) into account, they fall exactly into this price point and piece count. It would fit well into the june wave, as well as work as a new desirable chess set for Afols
-
The Hogsmeade and the Polyjuice potion set also do have a ppp below 10 ct. Only the sets with new creature moulds like fluffy (~10 ct) and chamber (~12 ct) are slightly higher

The price per piece ratio on these sets looks actually very good for a licensed theme. 597 for 39,99 and even the 876 for 69.99 are better than almost every other set that we got in 2018 - 2020 if we just consider price per piece ratio.

Most rooms are "boxes" if you think about it. Also the interior is better than the whomping willow set and bigger than the clocktower classroom. Also isn't it a good thing to release locations in smaller but connectable sets instead of one 100$ set which maybe would have 2 new rooms/floors and 2-3 repeats. That way (with the smaller sets) you can buy the rooms/interiors you want and just ignore the rest. Isn' t that usually what most Afols want? Same goes for trains with waggons sold seperately.

We are talking about Falconfan, Guyon or someone giving us a list of set names (for any theme) 3-5 months before release. Even with a current property like Mandalorian my example with "Trouble on Tattooine" as a set name wouldn't spoil any story, and Tattooine as a location was shown in the promotional trailers beforehand. The pictures that were released by the Italian retailer were sent to them by Lego (as they did to thousands of others). And more than one has obviously shared these pictures (albeit not posting them online on their website) with people like Falconfan, Guyon, promobricks, other discord and telegram channels. The retailers themselves know that they are ordering a Looney Tunes cmf series at least 6 months before release for example. If Lego cracks down on "leakers", they could already go after Guyon, Falcon or KA1 to get to their sources because they told us repeatedly in this forum that they obtained information and pictures from the sets. Even when they are not sharing them with us and only give vague hints and warnings, the fact remains that by their own admission, they have received this information somehow (most likely in the eyes of Lego illegally). They could get personal data like the email and with that their real name and address. For example Guyon and Falcon have both instagram channels. Lego can claim copyright infringement on those and request Instagram to hand over personal information to resolve the copyright case...

That argument is invalid for the upcoming Harry Potter wave because none of the sets are concerning unreleased movies. As far as I can remember Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets released 20 years ago. I don't think you can call that leaking or spoiling intellectual properties. Furthermore the movies are based on a "fringe" book series that was released 10 years prior and many of the movie-goers of Prisoner of Azkaban knew that Sirius was gonna go bye-bye two films later before they ever saw him appear on screen. The whole leaks/spoiler thing is a relative new marketing gag for remake franchises, that seems to be highly effective on some subset of the population. Because how can you "spoil" or "leak" an intellectual property like Marvel movies that is entirely based on plot points that were released in the form of comic book strips for a few dollars over the last 70 years? Thanos overarching plot with the inifinity stones was obvious to comic book fans the first time he appeared on screen. His eventual defeat after his big "snap" is also more than certain because they wouldn't wipe out half their franchise permanently (money you know). The new Disney Star Wars movies or Mandalorian series can also hardly considered to be "original" or spoilable through leaks. Episode 7 and 9 are essentially just modernised remakes of 4 and 6. Mandalorian is a paint by numbers episodic space western with fan-service cameos. How could a leak of lego set like "Trouble on Tatooine" spoil such a story when all the major plot points are retreads of what was already there (e.g. "reclaiming Darksaber to become ruler of Mandalore" or "defeat evil emperor" story line that has totally never been done before)? Your brain spoils itself when you watch the first few minutes of the episode or movie just like in a crime thriller when the criminal's face and deed is shown in the opening. Most "original" and truly new intellectual properties don't get lego sets anyway (like small experimental independent films or new book releases)

The old sand green one had printing on the curved parts and head (mostly dark green and silver lbg dbg). The new head mould will have printing and some of the curved body parts might either have printing or stickers to create the scale pattern. Since the lower jaw is tan in the prelims, I suspect that they will this time implement the accurate tan belly colour. The olive green is just the base colour which will propably have accent colours like dark tan, tan, dbg etc. to create the scales. Sand green is even brighter as a colour so I think olive is the better base colour of the two
-
Judging by the actual movie animatronic, they built for Chamber of Sectrets I think olive green is a good approximation for the colour. The lighting in this scene is very blue, dark and muted so that changes the colour impression on screen. Dark tan accents and maybe tan printing could be used to bring out scale detail and such. The head mould looks perfect imo. Some pieces will be exclusive new recolours like the 2x2 round brick in olive green.

Btw, in light of what recently got revealed about that game BTS, I hope they won’t release a single set based on it That is one person involved that has questionable views. A much bigger fear of mine is that the content and the quality of the game turn it into Hogwartspunk 2077. At CDPR there were programmers who both developed Witcher 3 (very good open world game) and sadly Cyberpunk 2077. Sets would be based on the story and location/art design which would be overseen by different people than him anyway.

Yes, I agree with that. Only one slight correction. The polyjuice bathroom set uses only 1 of the tan door arches (on the right). The left one is built with a normal tan 1x1 pillar and a 1x2 flat tile because of the toilet stall build in reddish brown.

The left underground section of the new chamber of secrets set has most likely the stone monument of the head of Salazar Slytherin in it (on the backside of the dark blueish gray rocks). The small rock mould between the candles can be removed. It is clamped in by two of these pieces on the bottom, which can be hinged back. This creates an opening for the basilisk to slither through and come out of the mouth as a play feature. Size-wise this would mean that the head of slytherin covers most of the inner wall under the Great Hall and is the backdrop of that room

It could be a store exclusive and therefore wouldn't be in the Italian retailer catalogue.

I know, I already posted this fact a couple of pages ago, that the connection pin positions are exactly the same as the previous 2018-2020 modulars and that promobricks were wrong about it not being easily connected to the former sets. The other leakers like guyon have by their own admission not even seen the pictures of the August wave themselves, but only heard descriptions of the sets by their source. So they don't have actually that much to share anyway and the hearsay could be inaccurate or wrong

Not wanting/having to buy as much Lego sets during an economic depression in the scale of the 1920s might actually be a good thing for many people in the coming months. When live gives you lemons, make lemonade
-
But that would ruin the connection to all other sets or you would have to buy and build custom rock work for the clock tower and astronomy tower as well. Fluffy isn't ruined. I own the old moulded one and the new one is better in more than one way. First it can actually be lying down or move it's feet, the old one was just static. The old mould could only open the mouths of the heads which had no printing at all and you can only open the middle head or the ones on the side. The new one also has more detailed head sculpts. Additionally the black feet part on the old one just looks bad. Regarding the size of the chamber: If you combine all 3 "underground" sections of the 76389 new chamber of secrets you get a roughly the same area stud-wise like we would have gotten under the old 2018 Great Hall set.

Botched Poly-juice potion is better than "Harry Potter and the Girls' bathroom"

What if it's a "Hogwarts Mystery" (mobile game) or "Hogwarts Legacy" wave (the new game that originally had a 2021 release but now got pushed back to late 2021 or early 2022)? I think if the Legacy game is a hit and it looks like WB is putting a lot of assets into it, we might eventually see sets for that. It's Hogwarts in the 1800s with new (and old) characters, creatures, a new villain that isn't Voldemort or Grindelwald and so on Lego did a 2 part tie-in wave for the Marvel Avengers game (that game flopped horribly) and the Wizarding World is actually a more profitable brand considering the toy sales for it right now.
-
It also allows them to release seperate classrooms, library or common-rooms in the future without them being squished into the bell towers. The 8x16 or 8x24 format allows for larger interiors than what we got in the astronomy tower or the 2018 great hall (which had a large great hall but the tower rooms were small)

The signage is pink like on the set recreation in universal studios. The door is dark green as are the windows
-
The wall colour of Honeydukes in the set is not brown, it is nougat (accent colours for windows/doors are dark green and sand green). The pics are oversaturated and dark, so the colours are off in comparison to other set images. Nougat fits as an approximation for this:
-
Do you mean the third floor of the tower in 76389? That window uses a reddish brown recolour of a curved new for 2021 window frame It first appeared in this years Friends line. There is no black gap it is the curvature and lattice of the window frame
-
@Guyon2002 You could use the Marvel and DC Cinematic Universe to describe the quality and content of the sets. Like 76389 is the Superman 2 (Donner-cut version) of the wave. The D2C for example could be like the Dark Knight movie (hopefully) or if it's controversial either like the Joker Movie or the Ultimate Spiderman cartoon (the former being adult oriented while the later is oriented at kids). Or if it's a rather original take on the source material you could say it's the "Into the Spiderverse"-movie.

The torsos are mostly preliminary as can be seen in the hogsmeade set. Exclusive prints would not be finished at the time these preliminary set photos were taken last year. Colours of pieces might also change if the recolour is new for this set The figs would look silly with yellow heads and the rest being pearl gold. It is kind of acceptable for ninjago because they wear masks that cover most of the yellow. But Wu got a golden head and is the best golden legacy figure, while Llyod is the worst imo (although the new hair piece is cool).
