  1. Hello everyone.^^ Here is my new Lego MOD creation, a german shunter locomotive. It's based on the DB MaK 600458 (first pictures) mijasper had built a really similar shunter MOC 14 years ago. I had no clue about that but now that I know it, I want to give him credits. I made 3 different color versions (there is a 4th one, but it's basically the same as the "dark blue / tan" one, just in "red / tan". All of them were used, and some are still used by the Deutsche Bahn. Also the model comes in 2 different width, on 6 studs wide (better for playing) and one with 8 studs width (looks better). I've built the red / light grey version with 6 studs width for my tracks. Btw., it comes with a 9V motor because a battery box would ruin the look. If somebody wants to build it with the old or new PF, I would recommend to use a seperate wagon to store the batterie box. I hope you like it.^^ Please check out my Lego Ideas post for this locomotive (and my E103 Rheingold Express) and support it if you like it. Thank you so much! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/3720176b-b0dd-41f3-8600-1c624b602abe https://ideas.lego.com/projects/f439453c-ecee-4c44-a5de-8c010a3dda56

[MOD] German shunter locomtive MaK 600458

Well I can understand how they feel. And I'm not the guy to fight over something like that. He got a similar design first, so, also I didn't knew him or his build, I give him credit. What I really care about is getting Lego to build it, no matter who did the design first. I'm not fighting for getting credits. All I want is showing my designs to everyone, so everyone can build and enjoy them.

Well, all I can say is, that I am absolutely honest in this case. Also I changed the topic to [MOD] and gave credits to mijasper in the first post. I'm really sorry for not checking if that design was there in the first place. I never expected to be that similar with another model getting inspiration from 3 other shunters, but not his one. For posting it on Lego Ideas: I would delete it now that I know that, but it's not possible. If you have any suggestions please tell me.

Oh ok. Actually I've never seen that one before. I've built the 6 studs wide shunter first without even had in mind an 8 studs wide one for a while. I've built a the 8 studs wide one because another guy told me it would look better. And you're right, it looks almost the same. I took my inspiration from 2 or 3 other MOCs for specific parts of the 8 studs wide shunter to be honest, but not from this one. Seems like you had the same ideas with nearly the same result or the other MOCs were I took my inspiration from took their inspiration from that specific MOC. That's a bit embarrassing for me now, cause I had no clue about that. But I think that's how Lego is. Some times people have the same ideas without knowing from each other. And with limited parts and building technics that can happen, especially when you build a model with Legos that exists in reality. Thank you for telling me. I hope you all don't mind if I still say that it's my creation because it is, but I will change my first post to give you credits.

    [MOC] Intercity Rheingold

Ok, all Parts are here and I've taken some nice photos from the final model, as well as some rendering pics showing how the train should look like in brandnew condition with all parts in their right colors.I hope you like it.^^

    [MOC] Intercity Rheingold

Hey everyone. I wanted to show you one of my own train creations, the Intercity Rheingold from Germany. It's an iconic train from 1970. Hope you all like it. Please check out the Lego Ideas page and support this wonderfull train if you like it. Thank you! ^^ https://ideas.lego.com/projects/f439453c-ecee-4c44-a5de-8c010a3dda56 Update:

Sure I could do that, but it's more about the look and not for extra tourque. I like those silver wheels.^^

@*thomas* Good idea, but I would need to use 2 motors then, because a two axle bogie with normal train axles is not looking so good. Maybe I consider it when getting my hands on another 9V motor in good condition.^^ @Xris Thank you.^^ You're really blessed to see such a train nowadays. The last complete Rheingold I saw was in my childhood 30 years ago.=P

Finally, most parts are here. Let's go...^^ First part of the build (some parts are still not here) And almost done! Pantographs are still missing, same as two 1x6 dark red bricks and two 1x2 dark red plates. Edit: Oh, and the round technik connectors in black on the lower sides. I'm really proud of the result. Only thing I don't like but cannot change are the black 3L bars and the black droid arms....they should be red but they don't exist in red. <.< Also I did some prints of the DB logo as well as the 103 number.

    [MOC] Intercity Rheingold

Hey everyone, thank you for all your positive support! I made an update to the design and finaly bought the parts for the E103 locomotive. (Yes, only for the E103...did cost me around 150€ with 9V motor, LED lights and a modern batterie box.) Bricklink is nice, but a pain in the megablocks when it comes to parts with rare colors. And those shipping costs are hell if you have to buy the parts from 7 different shops. >.< So, I will post some new pictures when the parts are here. Please tell me if you like to have pictures from the build process or only from the finished model.^^

    [MOC] Intercity Rheingold

Jep they did. But I think my "updated" version is a lot better / accurate in shape and color.^^ I mean, 7740 was from the 80's, so for that time it was a really good model and I still love it. Thank you guys for your support.^^

I would if I had the money right now. If I build it from Bricklink parts, it would be around 500€ without shipping costs. Too expensive for me right now and some parts are not existing in those colors. That's why I posted it on Ideas, to get a chance to get it from Lego cheaper directly. But yeah, somehow everyone wants trains, but not the people that are active on the Ideas site. So, chance is little but that's how it is.

    [MOC] The X-Wing Strikes Back

    Sure, hope this helps.^^

    [MOC] The X-Wing Strikes Back

Sure thing.^^ So basically I replaced the white 12x1 plate with a 6x1 plate and added another 6x1 and 8x1 plates at the inside. Then I added the white 6x1 tile on top of the 8x1 plate. On the outside I added a white wedge plate which is covered with a 3x1 white tile and a 1x1 red tile to get the Red 5 look. For the canons: You can see all the parts in the following picture. Ideally it would be one part with a 13 studs long technik axle but Lego gives us only 12 and 16 studs long axles, so I had to make 2 pieces with a 8 studs axle with stopper and a 5 studs axle with stopper. It's pretty solid for a 2 piece canon, so it shouldn't be a problem. If you want to have it as one piece, you have to cut down a 16 axle to a 13 one. But cutting Lego pieces is out of the question for me. Especially when such a piece is expensive. (The 16 axle is around 1-2€ each at Bricklink.) If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.^^

    [MOC] The X-Wing Strikes Back

Hi everyone. First of all, I have to say thank you to cehnot for sharing the .ldd-file for this awesome model. I tried to build it for myself and with a few modifications I succeeded. As you can see, I've decided to have round canon bases. Think it looks much cooler than the ones in the .ldd-file. The canons also have the blue stripes like the original Red 5 X-Wing. Also I reworked the side panels in front of the nose a bit so they don't need to be bend as much as in the original design. The slopes on the wings are from the 75003 A-Wing and the engine covers are from 7468 - Saturn V Moon Mission. Hope you like my version. Thanks again.^^

    Voltage Question

Hello everyone. I'm new here and I have a question regarding the possible voltage for 9V Lego train motors. First of all, I'm from germany and 34 years old. I've played and build with Lego since I was 4. I loved the 12V trains back in the 80's and their advantages over newer systems. But the 12V system had a big disadvantage: the middle power tracks. I absolutely hated them because of the looks and that they bend up often so the trains got stuck. I love the 9V tracks and currently I run every train on 9V and use my 12V transformator for trainstation and town lights and for remote the railroad crossing. So I use 2 transformators, one 9V and one 12V. It would be nice to use only one of them. And that would be the 12V because the 9V is not strong enough to power the lights and has no seperate connection that is always at full power. So remote the railroad crossing is impossible too. But it would be possible for me to connect the 12V transformator to the 9V tracks. Now my question: Would a 9V train motor run at 12V? Or will it get too hot or even burn? I hope someone here can answer my question or has any other ideas. Thanx^^
