  1. Well, stopped at a couple of Targets and one Toys R Us. Neither Target had minifigure polybags, but both had tons of polybags of both TIE prototypes and TIE Interceptors. At Toys R Us, the stormtrooper was a give-away if you spent $30 or more on a LEGO construction set, but they were all out of the troopers. They did have a bunch of the red-armed C-3POs to purchase, so I picked up two. Really wanted that stormtrooper, though.

Thanks for the suggestions, Lobot. Very helpful!

Do all the sets that include lightsabers give the option to remove the blades? I know that seems a silly question, but I haven’t actually ‘built’ a Star Wars set since returning to LEGO after many years. I was hoping to be able to just purchase a standard (red) double-bladed lightsaber, like Darth Maul uses. But do you have to purchase the components separately? I guess that’s fine, but I agree with you Junior Shark, Bricklink can be a bit overwhelming to navigate. Thanks for the suggestions.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

Bricklink is a great site for buying all sorts of LEGO items (including Star Wars). But I will admit, it's a been vast and can be hard to find things (at least for myself). Anyone know where to look to find Darth Maul's double-bladed lightsaber? I looked under lightsabers, and under Minifigs, weapons, but nothing that I could find. The closest I've found is buying the lightsaber itself and buying the colored blades, but just looking for a whole double-bladed lightsaber (red). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  5. Wow, sorry, but I thought I had a bad memory. So what do you do with the Death Star sets after you bought them? Store them out of sight? Just curious, because it would be kind of hard to miss the Death Star if you built it and put it in area you traversed often enough.

Only thing I worry about is this, and the Han Solo origin movie, are the last movies Lawrence Kasdan are going to write. Hopefully they will be able to continue with the same quality writing for Episodes VIII and IX.
  7. Actually, I called my local LEGO store and they said they will be open. I assume it will be the same with the other LEGO stores, as well.

    Do you save your box?

I haven't bought all that many sets yet since returning to LEGO, so have saved all my boxes so far. But as buy more, I will probably go along with some others and save only the bigger boxes, more collectible (like UCS) sets. Right now I just have the Final Duel, Death Star, Ecto-1 and just received the 2-in-1 Ghost and Phantom set.
  9. Ok. Well, I haven't bought any sets from 2015 yet (or any polybags), so I wasn't aware of that. Like I said, it's not that big of text (fortunately), so not a big deal in the end. Edit: Scratch that, I did buy Final Duel, but it was less noticeable with that.
  10. So it appears everything is going to have "Disney" from 2016 on. Grateful to them in regards to Star Wars, but really wish we didn't have the name plastered on the boxes. In the end, I guess it's not too big an issue, at least it's relatively small text.

Depends on when his tickets are for. Like I mentioned above, I don't have tickets until for January 2nd, so it is going to be 2+ weeks for me.

Ouch! Sorry man. Not sure on your situation (and really none of my business), but there is no way I can pass up seeing Star Wars on the big screen. Will be seeing it in IMAX. Ok, that's good. Enjoy the movie!
  13. Actually, it's clear now. You were just calling me out on saying "TIE Fighter pilot", instead of FO Special Forces TIE Fighter pilot. Sorry for not being specific enough! But, got it now.

Be sure to confirm the policies of the theater you are going to. A lot of them won't allow any outfits that cover your identity (face) in any way. Face paint, helmets, masks, etc. I'm assuming you would run into that issue if you have a Chewbacca suit.

My tickets aren't until Jan. 2nd.
  16. No worries. Plenty of Targets out where I live, if I am in the area, will stop in and see if they have any. So to be clear, were you discussing only the TIE Fighter pilot from the FO Special Forces TIE set, or a TIE Fighter pilot in a polybag at Target, as well?
  17. Oh, I got the Hulk one, but it is being given to someone else. had purchased a Junior set for a friend of mine's daughter about a week or so ago and TRU had special going where they were giving away a Hulk figure (polybag) if I spent at least $30 on a set. So there are no Tie Fighter pilots at TRU? At the least, will be on the look-out for the C-3PO or Stormtrooper Sargeant. Thanks.

So would you say it was better than Phantom Menace? Obviously, not looking for any spoilers. Does anyone know if there is any word on a new Star Destroyer? As I believe the current one is going to be retiring soon.
  19. Ok, thanks. I may be stopping at Toys R Us today. So if I do so, I will take a look.
  20. Are these polybags usually sold over by the normal LEGO sets? I will be honest, I've never seen separate minifigs sold in polybags, but then I guess I just could have missed them.

Another way to look at it, and how you should be viewing it, is the minifigures 'without' the arm printing are the normal variants, not a substandard variant now because TLG decided to put some extra work with a select amount of minifigures. How many minifigs do you see that have printed arms? Not that many. That's why they are special. It has nothing to do with the cost of only "printing on a small plastic minifigure" (although there is some extra cost as it's an extra step in the process), but more to make these minifigs more unique and special, and to get you to buy their UCS sets (like Slave I). This is something you see in all collectibles. It's not new for TLG, and shouldn't be something that is viewed as TLG lessening their QC, it's something they are doing intentionally.

What 2016 Themes/Sets Are You Most Hyped For?

Definitely looking forward to that Ghostbusters HQ. Will be purchasing that day 1 (January 1st).

    S@H site is terrible

I have Firefox at home and Google Chrome at work, and have this exact same issue, as well, being redirected back to the main page. The other problem I have with buying from LEGO and having it shipped to me, and this isn't a bug issue with S@H, but it's that LEGO won't send to addresses that are freight-forwarding. I use a UPS Store for all my deliveries as I live in a secure, condominium building, and don't want the packages left outside (UPS/Fed-Ex always show up in the day while I am at work). So I have a mailbox for deliveries at a local UPS Store. Well, LEGO refuses to deliver there because it has the option of freight-forwarding. I know their intention is good, but it makes it very inconvenient as if I want to have anything delivered, I have to do so through work, which I really would prefer not doing. So I try to buy at actual LEGO stores if I can.
  24. My feelings, as well. This is the version I like the best, also. If I do have that big set-up that needs a lot of troopers, this will be the ones. The helmet on those Rebel troopers...
