Best order to build Castle lines?

Maybe I’ll switch FE and Kingdoms, but build MMV with Kingdoms...I don’t have the shelf space to have the whole FE Line displayed at once anyway. Thanks!
  2. Hello all! It’s been a long time since I’ve posted, but I haven’t been idle. Over the past few years I’ve managed to collect the most recent Castle lines, and I’m ready to start building them. I like to build complete lines at once, going from smallest to largest (or most interesting, if different), but I’d love suggestions on the order to build these so that I save the best for last! Here’s the order I was pondering: 1. KK2 (I don’t have the whole line, but all the larger sets) 2. 2013 Castle 3. Kingdoms 4. Fantasy Era Thanks for your input!

    71040 The Disney Castle Discussion

I would agree, except there's the possibility actual fans will feel alienated and stop even trying to get lucky and find the set in stock because the scalpers buy them up so quickly. The long-term damage to customer goodwill could be worse than the lost sales. It's why performing artists hate ticket scalping - they're not happy their concert sold out when potential long-term fans can't get in. They have tools specifically designed to prevent it. The best solution would be for no one to buy from the scalpers, which might happen if TLG could tell us when more sets will be in stock...the only reason I can see for people to pay a 50% or more premium on a set that's so early in its life is fear of not being able to get one in time for Christmas...

So what, if anything, do you think TLG should do about the scalpers? Search "Lego Disney castle" on eBay and you'll see dozens of listings of this set at $450 to $1800. I don't mind of someone wants to buy one or two and then flip it for a profit, but some of these people are hoarding them (one listing has a picture of 18 sets!). Either the 2-set limit isn't working, or they're buying from each other. Anyway, this is going to make the supply issues worse when TLG eventually has more in stock...I'd say the solution is to dedicate more production capacity to the set to "flood the market" and remove the incentive for the scalpers until the set is closer to retirement, but they can't do that without wrecking their plans for the next year. So do they start tracking shipping addresses to tighten up the buying limit? Reduce it to 1 set per customer to at least make it more tedious to stockpile?

The S@H site appears to have sold out their stock within 2 hours of US release...

    Kolobrzeg Lighthouse

Very impressive! So you made the outer wall round just by flexing the 1x2 bricks? I assume they must flex a little more than standard 1x2s (I've never tried them). Overall the effect is beautiful, and very faithful to the original. Great work!

    [MOC] Mini Tirith

Very nice! Always good to see great LOTR MOCs like this one!
  9. He actually asked whether we will get a "historic castle" theme, which Roman or Greek would not be (although I'd love and collect either!) I don't see another castle theme during NK's lifespan unless it becomes evergreen, but that's not what I'm hoping for anyway. I'd prefer castle/medieval sets aimed at older fans, TFOLs and AFOLs, in the same vein as the modulars or Creator Expert sets. Maybe the designers that previously worked on classic castle can be temporarily assigned to some big projects like those while the Chima/action designers keep churning out Nexo? BTW, I do have all the NK and enjoyed building them, but they're just not the same...

    LEGO LotR - general discussion

I agree, 3000 pieces doesn't sound promising for Minas Tirith, so Pelennor Fields it is. Although you could do just gates of MT with a mumakil and Grond as the battle scene...

Summer wave sets are on S@H in US now (not for sale, teasers).

Thanks for sharing these Rakrondewl! They're all great, but I'm especially excited about the Silmarillion designs...there's tons of great material in there for MOCs, and yours are great examples!

    [MOC] The Ring Goes South

Looks great! As others have said, the rocks are fantastic. Very faithful depiction of the movie scene.
