Hmmm... while I feel like a dingus for believing a lot of the rumours, I'm not surprised many of them are false. Part of me almost believes that Abrams could perhaps be feeding false rumours to keep people of the scent of actual facts about the film. But thats just a funny thought. It seems to me that whoever this person is claiming these rumours to be false isn't necessarily debunking everything outright. He's more just saying that everything we've heard has equal potential to both be or not be part of the film, with the exceptions of the casting of Billie Lourd and the inclusion of Inquisitors. There are also a few other rumours that he didn't touch on, which I found surprising. http://makingstarwars.net/2014/08/star-wars-episode-vii-rumors-post-endor-ewoks-dooku-connection-leia-hutts-lucas-vision/ Again, these are all just rumours and could easily be Bantha crap like the rest, but some of it is just interesting to think about.

Yeah, this is LEGO Star Wars we're talking about. The single most popular LEGO theme ever, and perhaps one of the most popular toy lines ever in recent memory. TLG won't hold back when it comes to making the sets for Ep 7. We'll probably get 8 regular sets and perhaps even a D2C set right away. Its really the first time that there has been completely new material since 2005. Sure, we had the Clone Wars sets, but a lot of those were vehicles and characters we'd already seen from the PT. My main hope is that we get a Battle Pack with both regular and Incendiary troopers, so we can mass our new Imperial forces. Also, I'm assuming that since this is technically the 2015 rumours discussion, its permitted to discuss the rumours regarding the plot of Ep 7 that have been popping up over the past few weeks. There have been many interesting things that I've heard that already have my head swamping with potential set ideas (even if they are based solely on what few plot rumours we've heard).

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Fives replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Is there any place to talk about the licensing agreement currently held for Star Wars? Over in the Hobbit 2014 discussion people were talking about the chances of a Hobbit CMF series, and it seems the license for that line is quite similar to Star Wars in that LEGO holds the rights for construction toys, while Hasbro holds the rights for action figures. So I was wondering if this is the place or if there is somewhere else to discuss what the future could hold for LEGO Star Wars now that Lucasfilm is under new management? -
The license allows for building toys only. Selling individual figures without a brick built part as well would breach this agreement. Currently Bridge Direct holds the license to release individual 'action figures', which is what the CMF blind bags are in the eyes of Warner Bros. As for the whole Dain debate, I feel that if LEGO is unwilling to give us a generic Elf warrior as opposed to a pre-existing Legolas fig, why would they give us a generic Dwarf when they could make a named character? LEGO always seems to prefer to give us named figs because kids, I think, would rather have named heroes that you actually care about and can relate to when playing instead of some random background soldier. The whole army-building thing really seems to be a AFOL-only phenomenon. I bet that there are very few kids who care how many grunts they get. Just as long as they have the main heroes to play adventures with, they're happy.

FAN EXPO Canada 2014 Exclusive: The Ghost Starship

I'm gonna be there! She's mine! -
I agree with everything Deathleech said, and I'll build on from that. Some people were discussing the popularity of Star Wars in comparison to some other themes such as Indiana Jones or Harry Potter. Apparently, and particularly in the case of Indy, the designers have a tremendously more difficult time creating sets based on location- and character-driven stories and scenes. With Star Wars, its easy to make a fun toy based on a ship or other vehicle, and include characters that generally make sense along with that vehicle. However, when the sets have to be based more around locations and such, its harder to decide how much of the location should be included, and what needs to be there to make it recognizable, while still staying within the parameters of the rules (price, piece count, minifigs etc.). When you take all of this into account, LEGO really has done a fabulous job with this theme. Sure, some of the sets have felt a little lacklustre (thank goodness for MOCing), but overall we've had a fantastic go of it, especially for the Hobbit. The only real misstep I'd say LEGO has made is not making ANY Gondor sets. Gondor is just such a vital part of the story, so to ignore it (for whatever reason they did) is a crying shame. But alas life is imperfect.

Yeah, Camie. I know she was ultimately cut, but it could be really cool. Luke talks about how he bulls-eyed Womp rats in his T-16 back home, so it would be cool if they made a set based on that. Give us Luke with his goggled hat, Biggs in his poncho, and Camie. And a moisture evaporator. While a Bantha would be awesome, I'd rather a cheap way of getting Tatooine Luke. A Bantha would drive up the price of an otherwise simple set.
-
Oops, I completely forgot about the Skyhopper. I think this actually has more potential than what it sounds. It would be really cool if this came with Biggs and that female friend of Luke who were deleted from the beginning of A New Hope.
-
I bet Vader's suit was treated much like Grievous's body. There were lots of multiples to account for times when they would sustain damage.
-
I like the look of the villain. I also think the idea of him having an eerie fascination with Vader is another cool link to the OT. But the thing that catches my eye most is how most sources that have shared the image and info seem to all say that these Sith Inquisitors have been around a lot longer than we know, and how that will be a big deal once revealed in the movie. All I know is that with this many leaks, there's a bunch of people likely getting fired this week.

I'm really excited by the new Stormie helmet. I love the design, and I'm glad that we're now pretty much guaranteed new moulds and not just reprints of the existing helmet. As for the set names for the January wave, here are my thoughts: Micro fighters: I have no particular interest in getting these unless they have some really cool figs, and judging from the list, I feel like there is potential for that. Ezra's Speeder Bike: Obviously this will be a smaller set based on the new white speeders we've seen in the 7 minute preview clip. This could easily have one fig, and be a new, single fig set that could become a new staple of future waves. Hopefully Ezra will have dark blue hair, like how they fixed Kanan's hair in the Wookie Gunship. Troop Transport: I'm very excited by this set. I have a feeling it will be a Battle Pack, yet not really included in the official battle pack category, much like this year's Utapau Trooper set. Either way, a cheap army builder for basic Stormies is something I've wanted for a very long time and plan to buy a good bunch of these. AT-DP: Pretty straightforward. I'm expecting this to only be 20-30$, with 2-3 figs. If two figs, I'd like to see an AT-DP driver and either Commandant Aresko or Taskmaster Grint. If it has three figs, I'd say throw in Sabine or Zeb for fun. TIE Advanced Prototype: This is obviously the Inquisitor set. Perhaps this will include both the Inquisitor and Kallus, or perhaps one of the two Imp. Officers I mentioned above. Either way, I bet this won't be too expensive. AAT: Finally! This better be a Phantom Menace version. It would make sense as a counterpart set for the MTT. I hope we see a Boss Nass fig, and maybe a new Maul. Also, a Padme in her red battle outfit would be really cool. I just hope we don't get too many droids. A couple BDs and maybe a Droideka, but I want more real figs. I also expect this to be a little more expensive. Now, the two sets that really catch me off guard are the Geonosis Troopers and Shadow Troopers BPs. Geonosis Troopers: I have a weird feeling that this will be based on the second battle of Geonosis from The Clone Wars. If that's true, I'm disappointed. It just seems lame for LEGO to make a set based on such old material. Shadow Troopers: This sounds cool, but I'm worried these will just be black Stormies, which is neat, but ultimately kinda boring and pointless, especially now that we know we're in store for some sweet new Imperial stuff with Episode 7. I'll lei key still get one if it's not too bad. But if it exceeds my expectations, I may get a few. Regardless, this wave sounds a hell of a lot better that the 2014 wave was. I think it's because there's just so much completely new stuff, instead of just a bunch of revamped old sets. I'm very excited.

I really like your ideas here. I like the idea of a story driven Fantasy Castle theme, like a mix between Knights Kingdom 2 and LOTR. Detailed sets and figs, with a child friendly story.
-
I just noticed that the Bard in Lake-Town has scars and dirt on his face print. That's pretty cool.
-
I really hope we don't get another Daisy (that's what Manu Bennett called his Warg while filming, so I use that name as well). I'd much rather another brown Warg or maybe Beorn. Beorn would be ideal.
-
Wait, you're unsure as to whether there will be EP 7 sets? There's never been a more guaranteed thing in my life. We'll likely start hearing rumours by next SDCC.
-
Just realized there's no Gandalf! That's a plus!
-
I think there is more to the ruins than we can see. Both Legolas and Bard aren't visible in the pic we have, which makes me assume that they are past the steps on the rest of the ruins. I have a good feeling about the ruins. I think they'll look great.
-
So I was able to find the images finally. Here's my rundown on the sets: Witch-King Battle: by far this is the best set of the wave, with Erebor coming in close second. I think the reason is, above everything else, this feels a lot like an LOTR set, particularly because it has LOTR characters. Plus, all of the figs look amazing, which makes this set a rare gem for this theme. Lake-Town Attack: I'm actually pretty ok with this one. I'm glad we're getting Bain, but that hair is wrong. Hopefully the Luke hair gets some colour variants in the future so I can remedy this inaccuracy. I'm also a little disappointed that the Black Arrow isn't a flick fire. Yes, I realize that overall flick fires are pretty bad, but in this instance it would have looked so much better. Plus, we could have the Black Arrow right out of the game, which looked great. The main pluses of the set are the Bard and the two new orcs. Even if they are to completely new, we now have new Orc hair, which is really cool. The building itself is fine to me. I really like the bridge, and I feel like this will look nice next to the other Lake-Town set. The Battle of the Five Armies: ok, so this one is where most of my cries of anguish come from. While the build itself is fine and looks pretty cool, with an interesting war machine, LEGO messed up so badly in the Minifigs department. First, swap Azog for Bolg. Second, swap the eagle for Beorn as a bear. Then get rid of one of the orcs and give us armored Thranduil, and lastly get rid of the Orc and give us an armored elf or dwarf, or at least give us a new armored Orc. Pretty mad at LEGO for this one. I desperately hope we get at least one battle pack, but the likelihood of that is so so very slim. EDIT: I forgot about the Legolas and Bard in the Battle set. What a waste. Here's my ideal fig line up: Armored Thorin Dain Armored Thranduil (get rid of Leggy) Armored Elf or Dwarf (get rid of Bard and put him in Lake-Town) Bolg (no Azog) New Gundabad Orcs in Modorian armour Beorn instead of Gwahir LEGO really let us down with this set.

Is there any place where these pics could be? Does anyone know? I seem to have missed some big news and now the images are gone.
-
Here it is. It has a very distinct Disney feel, but its also a lot like A New Hope. I feel like this mix works very well.
-
Ah, that makes a lot of sense.
-
When was that seen in the game? The DLC content shouldn't be out yet.
-
So I just picked up the two Rebels sets, and I'm pretty unimpressed by Zeb's weapon. I've been trying to think of ways to create a more accurate version of his blaster staff thing, but I can't really seem to figure out what works. Any suggestions?
-
Picked up the Ghost and Phantom sets from my local LEGO store. Haven't had a chance to build the Ghost yet, but I'm very pleased with the Phantom. I've always had a soft spot for compact one-man fighters.
-
I feel like a lot of those are likely, however we likely won't see too many grunts. Its a shame we're only getting four sets. It would be nice if we could get two sets focused on the battle. One with all the main characters, and one with a bunch of generic soldiers.
