Obviously only a madman would deny this awesomeness… however until you have the hilts in each colour… 🤣

Is there anyway we can create a separate thread to distinguish between legit and custom monofig parts? Am I alone in only wanting alerts when new official parts become available?

This set IS meant for literally everyone (the clue is in the name of the set), and I think reading anything more into it is very much just an extension of individual opinions/beliefs... I hadn’t even considered a pride connection until reading your comment, the rainbow was adopted by the pride movement, and I think it goes without saying that not every product featuring a rainbow has an LGBTQ agenda. also, brown white and black are not traditional rainbow colours so I’d say it shows more of a colour spectrum. A fantastic way to get started into monochrome though (just trying to forget the time/cost of putting some of these colours together now ;P).

. Latest update... really wanted to display them compact so found a really cool transparent 16 x 16 base plate, leaves 4 more spaces... hopefully for GID (New nearly-headless Nick) and any others in the future. Still needing: 1. Dark Turquoise head 2. BL Yellow head 3. Pearl D Grey hands 4. Yellowish Green hips 5. Lavender hips and legs 6. Coral head, arms, hands and legs

I can't see any 'Lavender' legs on Bricklink only 'Medium Lavender' which were used for the Ninjago Goblin-like minifigs... are you sure that there are legs in Lavender? (I'm be delighted to be wrong on this)... Lavender hips were released with one of the latest Luna Lovegood minifigures but that's all I can find.

That’ll be another monofig complete, Bright light yellow WtP Rabbit on the way so just waiting for the BL yellow head now and that’ll be another one. it’s the colours that only need one part to complete like pearl dark grey hands and dark turquoise head that are frustrating, but I’m still shocked that the light flesh hips are coming.

I have considered it, I just don’t think it’s necessary given the huge range of colours currently in production. May change my mind in future tho ;)

A quick update on the collection... I’m not yet ready to display them but after the last round of sorting I wanted to check on whether a decent single linear order was possible... which I think it is (a bit of a tone jump from light aqua to dark turquoise... c’mon LEGO, where’s the regular turquoise?!). If anyone’s interested my rules/process are as follows: 1. Only currently produced colours 2. Only colours that have minimum three minifigure parts currently in production (e.g head, torso, arms, hands, hips, legs, hair/headgear. 3. CMF parts and printed parts are fair game, however I keep track of which these are and replace with regular and non-print parts as they become available. 4. I use white parts to fill in any gaps 5. Strictly no bootleg, knock-off, night shift or any other limited access parts... I’m more than happy to wait for those flesh hips ;P 6. I ummed and ahhed about whether to include headgear but I decided I love the way it adds some extra character and reminds me of my many favourite Lego themes. This has allowed me to have a load of fun collecting without getting in too deep (time and money). I use Quixx plastic polish which is perfect and does not discolour or leave unpleasant residue or odour (I don’t use Brasso!!!) Mon-o-man this is satisfying!

Off the top of my head ‘Mera’ from one of the Aquaman sets, she’ll give you legs assembly and torso and arms in DTurq. Pretty sure The Ron Weasley from the new HP astronomy tower set has a DTurq torso also. Only minifigure with coral that I can think off is ‘Kitty’ from one of TLM2 sets, but only hips and torso I think. Been delayed on posting pics, will try to get these up tomorrow :)

    Monochrome Minifigures

Okay, so no pics as of yet (one day all of my work will be done and I can get to the fun stuff, but it isn't today!) but I have now finished collecting the parts for most of the currently available colours. I was originally on the fence about whether to wipe parts, but after testing Brasso and Quixx (and seeing how beautifully Quixx works, no smell, no scratches), I have decided to wipe any printed parts and then replace them with 'purist' parts as and when they become available. I will post some pictures tomorrow, but I now have all parts for the following colours: Yellow Bright Light Orange Orange Red Dark Red Magenta Bright Pink Dark Pink Dark Purple Dark Blue Sand Blue Bright Light Blue Medium Blue Blue Dark Azure Medium Azure Light Aqua Lime Bright Green Green Dark Green Sand Green Olive Green Dark Tan Tan Reddish Brown Dark Brown Dark Orange Medium Dark Flesh Flesh White Light Bluish Grey Dark Bluish Grey Black Pearl Gold I also have all currently available parts for the following (full minifigs not yet available) Lavender Coral Flat Silver Pearl Dark Grey Yellowish Green Light Flesh I'm no expert, but I have purchased all new parts, and together with parts from my own store I have tried to keep costs down by buying the fewest minifigures that together combine into the most complete monofigs, and would be happy to share this info with anyone interested.

Hi BrickHat, tgere was with Brasso, but didn’t notice anything with Quixx. It was the smell, and potential for discolouration that also put me off the former, let me know how the Eucalyptus oil goes... should have some pics to post soon.

Update: I just tried both Brasso and Quixx, and can definitely recommend the latter. A little longer to work, but no smell, and leaves the plastic untouched (I used the cloth provided in the kit).

    Monochrome Minifigures

Hi All, Long-time Lego collector, newbie to the world of monochrome. Will post some pics of current collection/parts, have found the whole brasso/quixx discussion useful, tried brasso once and while it worked a treat I wasn’t a fan of the harsh chemically smell that seems to have been absorbed into the part... am going to try quixx next before I commit to whether I am going full purist with my collection. I am normally purist OCD to the enth degree when it comes to lego, however I think I’m coming down on the side of “removing prints is not a ‘illegal’ move, but a restoration to the original pre-printed part” with it not being an ‘unofficial’ product or bootleg of any kind. That’s how I’m feeling today anyway. is it just me or does anyone else get a great amount of pleasure looking into which hair/headgear accessories would go with each colour? also... is that a dark turquoise torso and arms on Ron in the new astronomy tower set? Might be cheaper than Mira? keep it up peeps ;)

    Harry Potter 2018 - Rumors & Discussion

Not always, they can jump about a bit, often sets can be delayed or take longer to be released (Betrayal on Cloud city is a good example of this, it was several numbers behind many previously released sets).

I'm in the UK also... I made the decision a month or two ago to bite the bullet and buy a few packs on Bricklink for Europe (cost me about 50 euro each including postage. Was able to keep one and sell the others to allow a few others to get them at a cheaper price than the scalpers on eBay. I would do it again as I do not believe that they will ever become available in the UK.
