This is the most impressive MOC I've seen in a long time in terms of both creativity and execution. Do you know an approximate piece count?

Never. We used to get end of year discounts but they all but evaporated a couple years ago. -

It was reported somewhere else that there has been a short delay. Some Big W stores even put up signs apologising that it wasn't released when anticipated. I think there was talk of it being available in early December. -
Blue Midget is in it a little but it's incomparable to Starbug. It's a pity that the focus of this otherwise well done project is not what most Red Dwarf fans' first or second choice would be. And as Artanis I said, the scutter is way out of proportion, it should be closer to mouse droid size.

I just noticed my member number here is 1497, and I was thinking how cool it would be if it was 1499 as it would be a rare classic space set, my favourite theme as I grew up with it. Anyway, I decided to check out what set 1497 is, and it turns out it's a cute pit stop and crew, perhaps I'll have to get myself one now http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=1497-1. So does your member number match a set you like or dislike, I want to hear about it!

I'm not sure that was what he was saying. I think he was trying to drop a hint about the set being able to be opened up with his use of the word "divided". Maybe it is covered so can look like the death star and it opens up to reveal the scenes and play features.

That sounds like the best of both worlds. I appreciate the info and would definitely trust someone that has been here for years with a few posts than someone with 100 posts that joined yesterday. I have my fingers crossed that this info is true.

Gorgeous. With the low 122 number I was expecting something small. Boy did I get a nice surprise! If Lego ever decided to re-boot the Classic Space theme I think that buggy would fit in beautifully, a modern take on an old style.

Yep, it works with the exclusives, according to other websites at least. I haven't checked for myself. -
Many thanks for the review. I like the set more than I thought I would but those wavy lines along the side because of the misaligned printing are so jarring. I'd rather use my own limited skills with stickers than have to look at that.

Check this out In a set that's being released this year us space nuts can get our hands on new red classic space minifigs! But it looks like the helmet is the new style, but still, new classic space torsos is fantastic!! Get the feeling I'm a little excited?

I don't know if they're still there, but try Newton as there were plenty on day 2 of the sale. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Hewman replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
In all seriousness some of the small Friends sets are great for this purpose. You may or may not want to substitute a few colours. -
Would you open 34 years old MISB Lego?
Hewman replied to MaasEffekt's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Open and build. I did this with a few classic space and Fabuland sets and don't regret it at all. -
I have a few and they're pretty good. The maker is a really good guy and quite willing to take suggestions or even special orders. I think he was thinking of doing some about 10 degrees off the horizontal too so that ships could look like they were flying up or down. I've used them to display all sorts of sets for things like dragons or even boats to oretnd sharks are in water below them rather than at sea level. I think I've just convinced myself to buy some more.

Pretty sure they're all stickers. 9 classic space logos all up I think, plus the logo forms a small part of one other sticker. Brickset has recently posted high resolution pictures. Set 41128 for those interested. Edit: Actually on closer inspection it looks like 6 classic space logo stickers as they skimped on stickers and only put on the outward facing side of the tail fins of the spaceships.
