Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Alexandrina replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Do we ever even see the exterior of the Ministry? I'm not sure it has enough to it to justify a minifigure scale set at that price, but micro? No chance. -
While it would be nice to get a new Space theme, is this current landing particularly big in the public consciousness? It seems like every few years there's an event like this - a rover landing or something - which gets big press on the day it happens but is quickly forgotten about in the grand scheme of things. I doubt this will capture the public imagination until there are habitation domes on Olympus Mons or something.

When you log in to Bricklink, at the top of the page on the menu with "price guide", "colour guide", etc. there's a button called "add or change". From there you can select the option to add a set. Beyond that, I don't know - never had a set to add myself, so I've never run through the process - but it'll probably walk you through it.

Now that would be an unexpected set. Especially if it's the choir as when they sang In Noctem, rather than when they sang Macbeth -
Even then, it's been almost a decade since Kingdoms ended. There's going to be lots of people who don't have any suitable torsos.

Help with identifying parts/sets!

Your best bet is identifying uncommon sets then seeing what common parts are there. I can see most of the 7668 Rebel Scout Speeder at a glance though -

Fabulous! The head is imo the best looking set in the entire series, so the bigger the better -

Sounds dirty The head was one of the standard City selection for a decade, so it won't be easy to pin down where it came from. Even then, do you know for sure that the head and torso are from the same source? -

As I understand it, Warwick Davis in Goblet was cast as a different character. It was only later that they decided he was Flitwick all along. -

The music at the end of the maze trial before everyone notices Cedric is absolutely on point -

They're the ones from the other day. I don't know if the image quality is the same or not -

Are you sure? I can't find any on the hash tag. Is it the ones from the other day reposted, or something new? -

My mistake. That's even more egregious, since both Louis Doyle and Charlotte Skeoch were in Goblet Nd had one line between them To you they're pointless. To others they're not, and like it or not they are part of the HP Canon -

Except Cuaron had to invent the characters Bem and (I believe) Nigel because he needed minor characters to say certain lines. So why not use the established characters? -

Don't get me started on Albus D. -

You would probably care more about them if they'd actually had scenes! In any case, the story is best served by keeping every character, not ignoring the ones that you find boring. Had I been the director, I would have been tempted to cut Lupin out, since I find him boring. That wouldn't be service to the film though. -
The moulds in this set: The woman in the yellow house is wearing the hennin which was still relatively commonplace in sets at the time, but the two women in the lower left have new headgear - whether hair or headdresses is hard to tell because of the lighting and the white horse behind them. There are loads of other new moulds in that image, and some (like the beret) which we didn't get for many years to come.

It's also the point where things from the books start to be ignored, as Cuaron essentially decided that his vision for Azkaban was more important than a cohesive world. Hence why the uniforms change, why half the supporting students from Chamber of Secrets disappear despite there being multiple lines given to generic students (characters Cuaron invented). Hannah Abbott, Ernie Macmillan and Justin Finch-Fletchley are entirely absent - and both Charlotte Skeoch and Louis Doyle returned for Goblet of Fire, so it's not like the actors were averse to being in Harry Potter again (I don't know about Edward Randell, since Justin makes no return). Parvati's debut in the series is boiled down to one scene where she's identified by name and a few more scenes as background extra (she's not even the most prominent background extra in Harry's year in Gryffindor). The costumes outside their uniforms are less 1990s fashion and more 2004 fashion. And that's not even getting onto the topic of story aspects cut out - for instance, explaining who Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs actually are. I respect Cuaron as a filmmaker, but he should not have been allowed to touch Harry Potter. -
Even in the classic era the representation wasn't nearly the same. It pains me every time I come across the old pictures of unreleased Castle sets from the 1990s with all the fabulous minifigure moulds which never saw the light of day.

Lupin died offscreen though, so the reader is left to fill in the blanks. All we get from the mouth of Herself is the barest confirmation that he's dead -

Your Tesco is still selling them? I haven't seen any Harry Potter CMFs in any supermarkets near me since October, which is a pity since I was having good luck getting unique ones from Morrisons especially. -

I think that's probably what killed my ability to read the books. When I was younger (probably around the time Order of the Phoenix came out/a bit after) I used to read literally nothing else. I once read through the series over and over to see how many times I could get through it in a year, and then the following year I had a go at beating my record. It's definitely been too long since I read the books, though, since last time I read them I didn't imagine Yaxley as blonde (and I always borrow TV/Film adaptations for my mental images of characters). Happily, my rekindled interest in Lego has rekindled my interest in Harry Potter. Maybe I'll start those books today... -

Oi, stop thinking of exceptions to my comment, you're making me seem like a fool. In all seriousness, I definitely need to read the books again, I've clearly forgotten a lot! -

I suppose that would be very affecting for readers who liked Dobby, actually. Personally I always found him too annoying to care that he'd died. Plus every character death was one less person to take time away from my girl Hannah, who should have actually had something to do in the last book rather than just being the girl Harry thought of in the graveyard -

Obviously I'm overdue a reread! To be honest, it's probably been close to a decade since I last read the whole series. I tend to start them with great gusto and tail off during Prisoner of Azkaban (it's werewolves, that's one of the easiest ways to kill my interest in something!) I'll go more controversial though and say that I don't think there's a single death scene in either book or film that's genuinely sad, with the sole exception of Most of the genuinely powerful deaths happen off-screen and are just mentioned in passing, which makes me wonder if JK struggled with actually writing the moment of death
