Unfortunately many of them are better suited to nobility than peasantry. The Legoverse has too many queens and princesses and not enough lowborn women to populate their realms! :p

LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Alexandrina replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've never watched any of the animated series (bar a handful of Clone Wars episodes) and probably never will. I'll be watching a future live-action Ahsoka series and I have no idea what to expect in terms of characters appearing. I also didn't know she was going to be in Mando until she appeared - if anything, I assumed she wasn't, since a figure was included in the AAT and I would have thought Lego would try to avoid putting the same character in two different sets so as not to cannibalise the two sets' market. -
This comment itself will be a time capsule in ten years time when the thread is next dug up!

If a girl can't dream, what hope has she? Still, there's no reason the Potter Stinks torso can't be real one day. Maybe in CMF 3. -
That's true, but it's still only one print, and a good print that only appeared in a Collectible Minifigure from nearly a decade ago isn't a good argument against having more peasant women torsos. We need more - and a repeat of the barely-period-appropriate torso from the PoBB/Blacksmith is not sufficient.

I hate that particular hair piece, so I'll be using the standard male one in tan for my Ernie custom if I need to make one. I'd rather have a new fig with a new mould for the hair, a new face print and maybe a Potter Stinks badge on the torso! -

As long as they don't end before they release an Ernie Macmillan fig! -
I've basically bought every Medieval female torso I can get my hands on (bar a small number that are too expensive or impossible to find). Very few are suited to commoners, the majority are either warriors or nobility.

Only from comments where people quote me and say stuff like "what he said" or whatnot. It doesn't happen often but I'd rather it didn't happen at all.

Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I doubt that will be profitable for Lego. Parents buying for their kids aren't going to want to buy multiple seemingly identical carriages when they could buy a Star Wars or Marvel set that's complete, and your market is capped anyway at people who have the original train. Which won't be on sale forever. And then they release a new version of the train which no longer quite matches the carriages, and those carriages become essentially dead stock because the market for them is dry. -

This is some very careful wording you've got going on. Makes me wonder if the assumptions people have made about the August wave based on your warnings/the June wave preliminaries are inaccurate after all. -
The only question that raises is what parts go into the bags? Is a bag of 1,000 just 1,000 of the same brick? 1,000 different bricks? How does Lego determine what goes in? I don't think Lego will ever move away from having at least an idea book with a Basic set now, if for no other reason than to determine the contents of the Basic set. There are too many unique parts and colours now to sell bricks the way they did in the 1950s, and too many AFOLs used to the wide variety for them to ever condense their range to a core of fifty different shapes again.

I'm not convinced that tag is still available for people who don't already have it. It definitely shouldn't be mandatory - but I think it's something really good to have as an option should people want it (I myself am hoping there's still some way to get it, since having it be inaccessible while still visible for the users who have it only serves as a sort of 'pulling the ladder up' to those who didn't join the forums in time!) Even with my username and my profile picture, people still assume I'm a man on here, which isn't super pleasant. A lot of the OP suggestions are at best asking for trouble (I'll echo the sentiment of many who think things such as religion, disability status, etc. aren't especially relevant to Lego and actually provide one more stick for the abusively-inclined basement dwellers of the Internet to hit people with, which is 100% a bad thing). As for being a SOFOL - well, apparently simply by being in my mid-twenties I'm a super-old fan of Lego? That seems way too short a time for me. If there's such a thing as a super-old fan of Lego it's surely somebody who was an AFOL even in the days when the Galaxy Explorer was not even a glint in its designer's eye.

A couple of posters have said that the Technic connections are compatible with the existing parts of Higwarts, which would make it easy to combine them. As for the roofs, it depends on what colour you think looks best. Until we can touch the sets and physically play around with them, it'll be all guesswork and hypothesis as to how to combine the two waves. Perhaps use the new stuff as interiors, hidden behind the facade of the existing modulars? -

I suspect if Lego think Deathly Hallows is too dark for sets, they're unlikely to make a set where a character who isn't even shown in the films has her mind irrevocably ruined by a dark wizard. It would almost be like having a set of Bellatrix Lestrange torturing the Longbottoms -

I'd go so far as to say I'd be surprised if they included Hagrid in such a set. He spends most of that scene off on a jolly with Ron and Hermione, so unless the whole trio are being included there's no reason for Hagrid. And if they're included, you'd have at least seven minifigures on a set which would have a really hard time finding an interesting build big enough to justify being priced like a seven-minifigure set. Because the build will not be the highlight of such a set. What would it be? A couple of trees, an out-cropping root for Harry to trip over? Careful what you do around wrong trees. Bertha Jorkins wasn't careful, and look what happened to her! -

A new variant is one thing - and it's why it doesn't get boring having the main trio so often, since there are lots of outfits for them to cycle through. But the same outfit is a bit... eh. If the Great Hall Hagrid comes in one more set, a hypothetical collector who had exactly one of every set ever made (excluding like-for-like rereleases) would then have more of that specific Hagrid outfit than they would have original Phase II clones from Star Wars... -

I swear I'm not trying to fill this thread up with hot take after hot take but does Hagrid really need to be in every wave? He's in the Great Hall, Diagon Alley and Hagrid's Hut sets, which are still available on Lego.com (I just went on and checked, in case one had been discontinued without my realising) as well as the just-discontinued Beauxbatons Carriage. On top of that, there's very little possibility in the way of variants - given the figures in the Clock Tower set, we're not likely to see Yule Ball Hagrid this year, and other than that he's pretty much the same throughout the series. Putting Hagrid in a set for the sake of it is just going to stick another of the same Hagrid on the market, and the Hagrid torso is already less versatile than a bog-standard minifigure torso because of its size. What would people do with a dozen identical Hagrids? Next year is a different argument. Presumably the Great Hall and Hagrid's Hut sets will be off the market by then, and kids just getting into Lego will need a way to get Hagrid without having the big D2C set. But for 2021 specifically I think Lego would be better putting in a different figure. -
And that's if you can even find one. There are currently none for sale from UK sellers (and international shipping on top of the already high price rules out buying from elsewhere), and the torso is not available individually either. Even the set she came in is not in any UK stores at the moment, so unless I want to import my options are paying £350 for the whole set on eBay or hoping I get lucky and find the torso/skirt in a random job lot.

On top of that, a build might get improved but it's not like Lego are going to take the license and do something different with it. If Star Wars had never been licensed, and an X Wing got into the review phase and got approved, sure Lego will fiddle around with the design of the X wing but they're not gonna release a TIE Fighter and pretend it's the same idea

I have the torso of the woman in the yellow building and it's still in pretty good shape. There are some decent torso's you just have to look around. The prince of persia sets from years ago had some nice female torso's. The harry potter line has some usable ones. The problem with the licensed theme torsos is many of them have exposed areas of fleshies skin, so they don't look so hot with yellow heads. I only have one PoP set, but I find it hard to use the torsos because they don't go with the rest of the minifigures that I use

At the amount you would have to shrink things down to fit everything in, the playground would probably only be a single 1x2 tile with a handle! -
