Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Alexandrina replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
It's gotta be Gringotts then surely. For all the in-the-knows who have spent so long on these boards downplaying the summer wave, who know exactly how much we all want Gringotts, to suddenly hint at a change in the summer wave - and for none of them to disavow Gringotts... Well... I don't want to get hyped up. Someone tell me not to get hyped. -
Have I missed something? The set definitely exists, right?

As long as it is double sided. He isn't very smug after the basilisk got him -

Life size snitch would still be fairly small though. Like, the Star Wars planets were a similar size to the snitch and they were like fifty pieces total. -
There's never been a mitre piece, right? I can definitely see why Lego would avoid the risk of controversy, but dammit if I don't want a piece for the full brickfilm adaptation of Les Misérables I dream of making

The point is that Lego are not producing vehicle-based themes at the expense of other themes - as evidenced by the sheer amount of location-based sets.

Fair point. I just Googled pics of the two together - and like you say, Hermione's hair seems to be that little bit lighter in Half Blood Prince -

Blimey, I've missed a bit. Buildable figures? Not gonna lie, I'll pass. Chess set? Same. (Unless they have a new crouching minifigure mould for the pawns). It's weird, since unlike most people here I love the June wave. Not so hot on the August one. At least I'll save me some pennies. -

Lavender and Hermione have very similar hair, don't they? -

Blimey - take a day away from the forums and it all kicks off! I doubt I'll personally buy a chess set - far too many other things out there - but it has the potential for some useful parts. Maybe I'll end up grabbing some off Bricklink. And I'll save me some money in the process - win win! -

Who's the character between the Death Eater and Narcissus? -
Is that still happening for you? I'm having no trouble opening the topic.

So unless there's a big wedding tent set with plenty of minifigures, we can safely assume we won't get him then. -
This isn't something that emerged after Ninjago though. How many location-based Star Wars sets have there been other than the very clearly adult-based UCS/D2C sets? Going back further, Alpha Team for instance was a fair few years before Ninjago and is pretty much entirely vehicle-based sets (plus one big base set where the vehicle is secondary). That seems to be a standard theme template Lego follow.

The biggest appeal for Barty Crouch Sr would be to finally get a Roger Lloyd Pack face print, perfect for people planning on MOCing The Vicar of Dibley. Percy is inevitable I reckon, simply because he's a Weasley who's in more than half of the films. It would be madness to miss him out. Lee Jordan could come in a Quidditch D2C but I'm having a hard time seeing where else he'd fit (maybe a Moments set?) Katie Bell and Blaise Zabini have obvious scenes that spring to mind - locket and fiendfyre respectively. Does Elphias Doge do much in the films? -

Would it not make sense for Lego to release this as a minifigure set? I've not seen Frozen so maybe I'm wrong, but by now all the major characters have been done in minidoll form, no? There'll be plenty of kids who love Frozen but prefer the minifigure over the minidoll, and I suspect the majority of the AFOL community that would buy big D2Cs would take a minifig over a minidoll. Releasing a big set with all the cast in fig form would allow people to choose their preferred medium for the characters. -
Since the thread's been dug up, might as well comment on this little pic. The woman in green seems to be wearing a green hennin (though that might be the picture quality) and the hennin piece was never made in green. (It could also be black, which wasn't produced until 2000, a few years after the rest of these minifigure parts). That to me points to this being a real prototype.

Studio too hard to use compared to LDD.

What popup menus? I'm genuinely confused as to what you mean. Unless we're talking at complete cross-purposes, to move the camera you just hold space bar and drag the camera along with the mouse, and I'm having a hard time thinking of a more intuitive way of doing this. I've also not experienced issues with subassemblies - what sort of bugs are we talking about here? (Ignoring the fact that the images aren't embedded in high enough quality to really see what parts are coming up short of opening Stud.io myself and finding the same menu) the only Bionicle parts that are popping up under the Technic, Connectors category are parts that fill the same function as other connectors not exclusively Bionicle-parts. There are lots of Bionicle-specific parts which don't fit in the Technic category in the dedicated Bionicle category. This is just a case of you not understanding the categorisation system - understandable, since you're migrating from LDD and the systems are different, but not an inherent failing of the software. -

If I could guarantee that we'd get useful parts in it, I'd like to see a red ochre - which would probably fall somewhere between rust and medium nougat. Very useful for sprucing up terrain builds -

Fabuland Orange was supposedly only used for one piece, in one colour - being the half-barrel in set 3710. Though any resurrected Fabuland colour would be welcome. That's got to be something in line for the future, right? Why else would they put a sleeping print on Gabrielle's face? -

Perhaps that was just me then - but I was never able to see any colours in LDD. It only takes like two seconds to learn the keybind for Studio. That seems to be you not being familiar with Studio's/Bricklink's categorisation, not an issue with the categories. Someone who knows the Bricklink categories well but isn't familiar with the LDD categories will have the same issue finding pieces (case in point: I wouldn't have known where to find the piece in your example). I'm fairly sure they do. Bricklink definitely does, in any case. -
You say you can't compare with other MOCers, but it sure looks to me like you can. So what if you've kept it simple? It looks great. There's plenty of SNOT techniques and they're combined well with the studs-up. I'm a fan of the little details - that brave peasant drinking on the beach while the Duke is watching on. I'm a little curious as to where those apples have come from - is that what's just been rowed in? If I had one minor critique, the crenellations of the big tower are a little too high - that guard's going to need a step-ladder to see over the side. Enemy soldiers could creep right up on him!

I was actually thinking of Goldenface - I've been on a bit of an Office kick lately! -
That's genuinely incredible. How have you managed to make deer so recognisable with such a small footprint? And is that a bird's nest I spy in the tree? Love it.
