Want to get into MOCs but.....

I say just jump in and start building! There's always Bricklink or Peeron to help you recreate your official sets. I was like you not too long ago and was very reluctant to dismantle my sets just for some parts I needed. But because of those resources, I was able to let go of that....plus, I did buy some doubles!

    REVIEW: 7696 Private Jet

Great review! Like others, I wish these sets were available for people who aren't flying with British Airways.

    MOC: Food Truck

Hehe, yeah I need to start going to LA (Legoholics Annonymous). You know it's bad when your wife gets mad about your legos! As for the coffee and hot water, it's not a hard rule that they're at the front; I've only noticed it on few trucks and based my model off of that. Really, it could be anywhere or not there at all. Ooooh french fry trucks! That sounds good. My wife says there's a french fry truck in Los Angeles, but I've not tried it yet. My very first attempt was via LDD, but I didn't get far. I found that using real pieces was faster...and funner! The bummer is trying to find a brick that I had to dig out a box or dismantle another model for; in that regard, I suppose LDD is superior. I think I will try to recreate the model in LDD now that it's pretty much finalized. If I do, I'll share it. Will definitely check out your MOCs! I can't see the pics for your Space Truck right now; I think it's my computer though...will try to check it out at work. Yeah, I can't believe Space Police is over. At first, I was like "that's cheezy", but then I got the Smash n' Grab set on sale and I really liked it! I like how they sort of made futuristic versions of today's vehicles - the tow truck, the lunar limo, the big-rig with cargo container. I was also able to the Galactic Enforcer for 50% off and that just blew me away with all of the play features. I can't believe the shelves in my area were clogged with such a great toy at 50% off. Thanks!! Wow. Never thought I'd see my MOC on the front page! Thank you! You totally gotta try Kogi if you can! I usually get the bbq short rib burrito, but if it's your first time, you should try all the different types of tacos. I have a feeling my 8 wide version will look a bit like your UPS truck! I'm trying hard not to look at your city photos because I really want to figure it out on my own, but dang! You've done such an awesome job on your vehicles (and everything else) that I may have to "borrow" some ideas. The food truck is also at MOC Pages now. Pretty much just copied and pasted the text, so there's nothing there you haven't seen here.

    MOC: Food Truck

Thank you everyone for the kind comments! I was debating whether or not to wait and make some stickers before I posted it, but I got anxious! I'll get around to it and post the results. Sweet! I'm in Gardena. This was originally based on the Kogi taco truck (www.kogibbq.com), but the design ended up being a combination of many different taco trucks. I tried to incorporate the details that seemed most common. Pink's is a good idea! The look and size would fit in well in a Lego town. I'm a Star Wars fan (I think I recognize some people here from the Rebelscum forums) and I've been buying Star Wars lego off and on since they started making them. Last year I asked my wife to get me the new Slave I for my birthday and things just sort of spiraled out of control from there. At first, it was just the new Star Wars sets, but then I saw the Toys R Us truck and the awesome small car and I thought I'd just pick up a few of the City sets to see how they were. Needless to say, I was impressed with what Lego was doing and I ended up buying nearly every 2010 City set. Series 2 minifigures came out around that time and I got caught up in that frenzy. The sales at the end of the year didn't help either; from there I got into Space Police (which I really like) and then some Power Miners (ok) and Castle/Kingdoms (not bad). For the most part I'm a City and Star Wars type of guy though. Haha! I thought about that when I was taking the pictures. Surely it's illegal to block the entrance to a fire station! Unfortunately it's my only modular building, and i wanted a nice looking sidewalk in the pics. I may put condiment dispensers in the back, but the coffee and hot water dispensers are usually built into the counter area itself, so I think they should stay at the front. Here's some photos of the Kogi truck (not my photos).

    Target exclusive town set?

The bank is definitely a Target exclusive in the US; just saw it the other day. Was so tempted to buy it but decided to get a Space Police Galactic Enforcer for 50% off instead.

    Target exclusive town set?

The ones in the blue circle definitely come from the Target exclusive sets (City House, City Bank, Off Road Fire Truck with Fireboat). The other ones probably come from the regular Police and Fire sets, but I'm not sure.
