I'm more into Clone Wars from these series and a big minifig fan, so I'd have to go with either 2010 or 2011. All the cool characters from the series that were released in these years ... but I think 2010 wins it for Aayla and Bane!

Being a plastic modeler myself I like to see things made as realistic as possible. What I don't like at modeling is the stench of colors and all the dust from sanding. Therefor LEGO was the obvious solution for me. Also there from my answer is known - I prefer the newer animals, but mostly because of more accurate and detailed printing. The plastic curves don't bother me at all. Someone mentioned that the old ones go better with the detail of buildings, but I think the newer ones go better with the newer minifigs. Though their shape hasn't changed, all the detailed printing + back and legs printing gives them a lot more realism. And I think it's better for animals to follow that then stay with the buildings. Anyway buildings in some MOCs are pretty well detailed as well! But another interesting point was made about the horses. I don't mind the old ones. They all have an eye print (which is most important for me - holes for eyes just looks odd). It will really be interesting to see what they make with the new LOTR horses and how compatible they'll be with the old ones. I'm just very picky about these things, it's something like I hate mixing fleshies with the yellow figs ...

This set really looks nice and I can't wait to see all the details on the minifigs! Though it's quite a bit pricy - by the size I think it should be around the 100€ (it looks just a bit bigger than the POTC Whitecap bay to me) but guess all the figures lift the price up more than I thought they will ):

It seems that the astromech only has a 3 stud wide "hat" on top of normal body and legs ... just like the one Embo has in Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship (7930).

Since I mainly collect Pirates and Clone Wars sets my choices come from there. I'm all into licensed themes and only have a fev newer classics. So here's my pick: from Clone Wars I'd pick Shaak Ti and Luminara Unduli - The only thing better than a cool jedi character is a cool female jedi character! And yes I'm one of those who like the Clone Wars style! from POTC I'd pick Barbossa (any version) and Bootstrap Bill though it's really hard to make a choice with such beauties as Jack, Davy Jones, Hadras and others. I do agree that Nya and Anubis gaurd come very close after these, but I don't have any of those ... In general 2011 was very rich with minifigures and my wallet already hurts when I think about this years minifigs - and they're mostly licensed ...

Yes it was a masterpiece, but even if they made new one with same architecture but different scratches and moss positioning + some computer graphics, you'd never notice the difference. Besides, the ship that spends most of her time under water is supposed to change after time if not fall apart ...

The ship "playing" Black Pearl was also reconstructed into the QAR, but still I think that in 5th movie they both might appear. At least I hope so since Jack will somehow get the Pearl from the botle and Barbossa has the QAR. I doubt they'll skip Barbossa - one of the best characters in the movies! So the FD being destroyed is no big problem at all!

I still prefer this concept to ending with having 9 Jack Sparrow figures after buying the whole theme. Glad I didn't go for the polybags as well ...

Sad news ... I sure trusted you Derfel on the FD set, as I did on LOTR. But seems you were looking at the Spongebob set after all :D Still the word exit can be interpreted in many ways, hope it means with another set or five, but for those other two themes in the same line I see it very unlikely :(

Finally ... a theme I'll gladly pass on ;) I really didn't believe this is becoming a reality and as said I can't imagine where they'll be going. I must say I'm probably at the minority here that hasn't actually played the game and also don't intend to, but have seen things and I don't imagine them as sets. I guess if they want to sell this, they either have to make something extra special or it will be the cheapest licensed sets ever! I thought it took them so long for the response to find a nice way to say that this idea is just lame ... guess they didn't find it :(

As I'm alot into minifigs, I knew this theme will be a must have for me! They all look amazing, only Gandalf feels a bit unfinished to me. I think he should really have a new hat mould with hair sticking out, they were quite long ... or at least the beard should have the whiskers like the older Merlin mold or even better, like blackbeard the hair being part of the beard and the hat fits to cover everything.

If the Nnjago vs Pirate thing is real (I hope not), I still think a lot of us will get them. At least for some new weapons and minifig parts to make more distinct pirates in MOCs ...

I wish your thinking is true, Pong Krell would make another great CW character. Though I'd prefer if they did a separate piece holding the head and covering the body part - something like Chevy or the new Minotaur, but with the possibility for an extra pair of hands. Also they should be lower than Lord Garmadon's and leaned more outwards so the "shoulders" are closer together. As for the Palpatines arrest set, I really hope it doesn't turn out another "Hoth base disappointment".

The last you needed needed, or needed to complete the theme? :D I too bought the Captains Cabin today and there with completed my POTC collection (9 sets - not counting the battle pack and the poly bags). Now eagerly awaiting the next wave, if there is one :S

The Endeavor is a magnificent ship but it has some real problems for getting into a LEGO set. It is too large - if TLG wanted to make it at least in a minifig caricatured scale, according to the BP and QAR it should be around 5-6 middle hull sections long and therefor also a lot wider - around 22 - 26 studs I'd say. This means a lot of new molding. It would also be quite boring minifig-wise. Unless TLG decided to include some characters that would make no sense, there would only be Becket his right hand (forgot his name, but he's already killed by Jones by the time of the last battle) and then there's only a bunch of red/blue coats. And there would never be enough of them to sail such a ship - sets with more than 10 - 12 minifigs are really rear! Not to mention that all this would lead to a 3000+ pieces set and not going to cost under €300. I definitely would not buy such set ...

I think that for 2014 it's more probable for another wave of POTC if their license agreement is really for multiple years and a new movie is coming. Especially if there is no second wave in 2012!

Very nice idea, I enjoyed the reading and the comments from members that have been here for a longer time. Love the koala thing and it's good to know I was not the only one. I was 100% sure there's a firefighter helmet with a black line on the floor, but I didn't recognize the animal from any set. :S Also thanks to KimT + all the bloggers and keep up the good work!

Haven't you noticed yet that flick fire missiles are of every Star Wars sets ... Glad to get the CW Padme, but I really hoped for the new look of Ahsoka! Are these descriptions really accurate?

The helmet does look a bit big. I also think they could use an ordinary motorist helmet from city. That one doesn't look so big and bulky. They could just put the details on that one. Puting the eyes a bit lower - where normal minifig has them would help a lot, so that the forehead doesn't need to be so high ... But I don't have a problem with big heads since I mainly collect Clone Wars figs :D

So, no one got the misplaced Eeth Koth head yet? Hope not all of them go to the States ... Even if someone did or does get one and is not willing to trade, please tell, so I'll order one myself.
