Congratulations!A more historic focussed Asia theme would be awesome, especially when it's tied to feudal japan or chinese legends, similar like the Vikings theme. (just without too much reliance to technic parts) Maybe some good dragons and other things, it'd be a excellent opportunity to give some additional understanding of eastern myths. (Maybe that's what ninjago is about, i don't know i have no idea about ninjago, lol.) As much as i'd like to see it, i can't imagine they do a castle-elves theme or any other castle theme in the forseeable future as long LEGO still has the rights for Tolkien movies. I'd 100% support a dark ages theme, maybe some mythology themed, like King arthur, celtic (stonehenge?) or another Vikings line would be nice too. They could also revive the Fantasy theme (that would be my personal fav.). A antiquity-mythology theme (hercules/odyssey/+much much more) would be truely great imo, but i don't see LEGO doing it. It's just not hip enough among the kids at the moment imo. Another possibility would be to get another license, like D&D or some other fantasy setting (which would be really nice on on hand but also pretty bad because it means expensive sets again.), but again it depends on what the kid want, not what AFOLs would love to see.... Realisticly, i think they will continue doing Hobbit/LotR sets for some more years (idk how long their contract runs), then there will be one or two years no castle themed stuff at all. (Depending on how well Nexo Knights is received by the kids) Sorry for the bad english today.

That'd be perfect as a tavern location for my game. I wish i had enough resources (and talent) to build similar things. Excellent work!

[MOC] Hanging gardens of Babylon. (WIP)
Murrig Icehammer replied to KlodsBrik's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It looks already beautiful. Keep up the nice work! -
I couldn't agree more! I really loved the Fantasy theme, especially since it wasn't so much over the top that it would restrict ones options to make it either more down to earth or even more high fantasy -like. PLUS it wasn't bound to a specific francise so it was much more open for interpretation and could be filled with the builders own imagination IMO. PLUS sets where less expensive! If it where up to me they should have continued that line until now and longer. :) EDIT: On Topic - I never really cared about the factions when i was a kid. (i didn't even know they had names and a backstory before the internet, lol.) And now since i'm a old geezer, i couldn't care less about any canon differences ppl have on the internet (i was too long engaged in Star Trek stuff to let my fun cut by other ppls opinion again.) To me Lego always where just a tool for my stories, not the other way around.

[MOC] Shiptember: Mantrisse-class Exploration SHIP
Murrig Icehammer replied to Veynom's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
That's a beautiful and very unique design! I wonder, how big is this ship, if build in real life? (it looks pretty big but i don't see any visual reference point to estimate how big it is)- 9 replies

Classic Space builds - Real life brick builds

I'm pretty impressed with the look of the Cosmic Explorer LL929! -
Should LEGO bring back a dedicated space theme?
Murrig Icehammer replied to Arctic_Ace's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Neo Classic space would be amazing!I think the 6929 Starfleet Voyager - set is still one of the best designed Spaceships Lego has ever released. (at least best looking) It'd be great if they would reimagine those sets and expand the theme with microscale Cruisers and Explorer Type ships and Bases. That would be seriously awesome! Hmm it's funny, but even as a kid i never knew what to do with a Space police theme. -
That's interesting. At least there will be a Star Trek theme, even if it's Mattel doing it.If i think about it, it'd be appalling if lego had the Trek license and released a series of Trek Video Games... Just imagine a Lego Picard or Sisko jumping around shooting at lego bricks and solving infantile puzzles, or a Borg cube filled with cute/stupid Lego Borg doing all kinds of slapstick. That's a really frightening and heartbreaking idea. But on the other hand they already did Lego Batman... so i'm afraid Lego wouldn't be afraid of doing all this and even more, if they had the rights to. So maybe Star Trek fans should be grateful that Lego does NOT have access to Trek license (yet), it's already terrible enough that Trek gets butchered by certain Video games companies.

Nexo Knights 2016
Murrig Icehammer replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yeah, it would have been the perfect opportunity to introduce a "improved" type of minifigure for those who want one.(ball joint shoulders and legs, different proportions and so on) That would have been the only reason for me to buy some NK sets. -
Sady the adult oriented sets like Medieval Makret Village and similar things are just (expensive) exceptions. And even the Temple is based on Ninjago. Don't get me wrong i'm not against Lego Cartoons, i'm simply not interested in it. I think they can't expect every AFOL to watch their cartoons only to understand what they are about and what's going on. You see i think these themes are too narrowing and restricting, even if you don't intend to immerge to it. It's like buying Star Wars sets without ever have seen one movie, you can do that of course, but it doesn't make much sense if you don't know what's going on and what everything is about.

This is a absolutely fantastic build!

I think the problem with the classic castle theme is, they made the same old sets over and over again for how long? 20 years? (big castle, smaller bad guy castle, tower, Siege machine, prisoner carriage, and so on) With the success of ninjago and chima and similar themes over the years i think it was foreseeable they somewhen going to make a castle-techno theme. The "problem" i see is that there is almost no way to go back to a non-silly castle theme (without the techno nonsense). Classic castle themed sets will never be as "exciting" for the kids as this awful techno-castle theme. Especially if they can make cartoon shows of it. (i still wonder what AFOLs think about this.) Sure there will be horrible expensive licensed sets, for every next big fantasy movie (if there will ever one). But i'm pretty pessimistic when it comes to affordable new castle themed or (comparable mild) fantasy themed lego sets in the forseeable future. Bad time to start caring about lego again, lol.

I voted Dr. Who, just to encourage more "classic" sci-fi themes (hoping for Some Star Trek things) being added.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate your friendly words.

Nexo Knights 2016
Murrig Icehammer replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I hate to do this, since this is my first (non introducing) post, but i have to say that i was really dissappointed when i first saw the Nexo Knights line. I can imagine many ppl here like the Lego Movie and mixing up themes and stuff, creating "funny" things, but i'm really not a fan of it... Don't get me wrong i really loved the Lego Vikings and later the dwarves and orcs fantasy line, but this new NK line is EXACTLY what i was always hoping lego would avoid doing.
