  1. I meant 42056 Porsche GT3 RS. I thought all its panels will be available in medium-blue but just realized that the smallest panels aren't available yet
  2. My wallet winced when i saw those pictures, i love the Mack Truck. I like the shaping of the rallye car but am kinda disappointed that the first alternate color for the Porsche will be some kind of baby-blue @Jim, could you edit your first post in this thread to include the current pictures? With those rapid discussions i'm always losing track of them

On the first look it reminded me of 8448. Really nice work, i dig those small, functional models
  4. LEGO QA unfortunately doesn't seem to be that much concerned with bending for assembly or disassembly :-( I disassemble such constructions by moving the gear and axle connector a fraction of a millimetre while torquing the other part to keep the axle in place. It takes time but doesn't damage any parts.
  5. Only half a year later, here are reverse video instructions, as amateurish as the model itself:
  6. Do you have instructions or LDDs of your models? I love lego models of complex mechanical devices. They really help to understand them thoroughly.
  7. I realize now, that i formulated my question in the worst possible way What i was aiming at is the following: If i try to rebuild your rear beam Construction in LDD, the green axle intersects the half-beam: Now my question is how this behaves in reality. My guess is the 3L half-beam bending a little bit.
  8. that's a really great model. I personally find the yellow half beams for windows on the bridge a bit much, have your experimented with the number of frames in your build process? Is the connection of the transverse beam of the rear crane working without bending? I'm with jotta here. That's a lot of cranes for very little space. Maybe instead of the cranes, put something on the platform above the engine for the one crane to pick up.
  9. This vehicle looks crazy functional. A video would be nice. Is the yellow block in the back a counterweight for the conveyor belt?
  10. In a larger scale this would be the ideal project for the myriad of 62.4 x 20 tires most lego technic collectors have :-)
  11. I'm blown away. This model has such a finished look about it, at least on par with the Claas or Porsche. A property that's enhanced by your clean videography. Bravo.
  12. Do we have any new informations regarding this? It's strange to keep looking into the 2017-discussion thread when we already have preliminary pictures of the 2018 sets
  13. The front outriggers really are ingenious. I love such compact builds. I minor problem i see is your rear axle: the axles holding the half-beams are orthogonal to the ground. Over time or with big loads they will get pushed out.
  14. This is a superb set of models. Reminds me a lot of "Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak". I really dig the artstyle
  15. If i remember correctly the Porsche rims were exclusive to the set.
  16. The dynamic stability of this suspension is an interesting question. Here a simple sketch depicting the centre of gravity and steering axles: My thoughts on cornering: here, two forces are interacting: - the centrifugal force, pulling the centre of mass outward, increasing the steering force - gravity, pulling the centre of mass downward and decreasing the steering force. This setup depends on the grip of the tires and the centre of gravity. I'm not so sure with the high speed stability, my brain just locks up thinking about the whole axle turning
  17. Those lights are a nice addition. For me, the first version looks more like a creature, the second more like a buggy.
  18. That's a great idea, i love such images. Have you uploaded them somewhere for us to download or should we screenshot from youtube? Could you make images of the mechanics too for your next video?
  19. This is awesome, i have 8257 too and i think they were the most played with models in my collection. I love the idea of boxing any car on the side away
  20. That's a nice minimalistic car, love it The back screams for nice big exhaust flames I remember building something in this style with the System Spring Wheels Holder and and Hinge Bricks.
  21. Hmkay, guess i just was hyped for such a massive Technic model
  22. Thanks for clearing that up. Do all those gears and linear actuators do anything? And do you have any more pictures of it from your trip?
  23. That's a good point i haven't thought about. Thanks for explaining!
  24. This is great. Although i'm always a bit put off by the friction fitted precision parts, clocks are my favourite type of technic model. I'm still hoping for an official model PS: have you tried using a pull-back motor as energy storage?
