What wheel covers are you talking about? -

Should be here, but I don't know if that's with or w/o the stand. -
I know, you're right, but I don't think they would have 2 reveals that close together, let alone 2 licensed reveals.
-
I think all those accounts are the same guy, and now he's covering his a** with a "good" account, but maybe I'll be proved wrong on that one.
-
I think it just comes from people using caps on MOC, and assuming it should be caps for mods too.

42055 - Bucket Wheel Excavator
Kman860 replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'd say for what ever strange reason, they list them later in Canada/USA, maybe because of less interest in them in North America? Either way, I'd say not to worry, if they don't have them listed by the 29th or so....then start worrying. -
Even if it has 5500 pieces, the day I see it, I won't get anything done at work. I'll just be bouncing off the walls (or something else because I mostly work outside) all day.

So probably somthing like $350 CAD/$300 USD? -
So does that mean less pieces, or better price per piece?

I know TRU usually has sets out a couple days early. -
Yeah, I'm sure I can find some somewhere.

Does this guy have any credibility? That's his first post.

Well, as inspector Clouseau said "I will now bring you up to speed. We know nothing. You are now up to speed".

Smaller and cheaper versions of large vehicles for smaller budgets

Another thing, because I feel like this is subtlety complaining about price increases, with average american inflation since 1999, the year of 7140's release, it would be about $41 USD anyways. -
Well, I did some math (mind you, these are in CAD) and here it goes-the average Canadian inflation rates since 2008 is 1.6%. So if we look at a 1.6% over the almost 9 years since it's release if it was released today with the same price per piece (ppp) it would be $572 CAD today. If we add an extra 10% to that price for new/extra demand because of new movies that becomes $629 CAD, which using TLG's CAN to USD price points, roughly translates to $600 CAD, $500 USD, which would be in line with the highest priced set ever (10179) although that was 9 years ago. That's all assuming they went with the same amount of pieces. Now if we go to say, 4500 pieces, at the same ppp, it works out to $592 CAD, and if we add another 10% to that number, it becomes $651 CAD. Looking again at TLG's CAD to USD conversion, we're probably looking at $650 CAD, $550 USD. So to sum it up, looking at a couple different ways to do the math, we could very well end up with a price in the range of $500-550 USD, which wouldn't really be unprecedented, or we could just get a smaller set, which throws all that math right in the water.

Technic 2016 Discussion and Speculation

Well, I'm in Canada and I'm sure we have the same release dates. -
Well, the way you worded it, it just sounded like you were saying "they put their effort into other things, so we will for sure be disappointed".
-
That's the only issue I have with that set.
-
How can you say we'll be disappointed? Have you seen the set? Also, how can you say it will be better? Have you seen the set? It's comments like this that cause too much speculation.

Did you build it wrong? I don't mean that in a mean way, but maybe you missed the 1x2-2x2 brackets? I have mine on the wings with zero issues with it. -

I don't have inside info, but I think August 1st is still a pretty safe bet for a couple reasons. 1-It's been August first for a couple years, so why should they change it now? And 2-The Porsche is a special set, SW UCS sets are listed a month ahead of time too. If I remember correctly, last years 2H sets weren't on S@H until maybe 3 or 4 days before the 1st.
