I wouldn't worry about it. Although yes things are noticable, and when building the set can annoy to some extent, once built the thing looks spectacular. I don't notice it anymore, and infact I've stopped caring. It's an awesome set!

I used to love TinTin when I was a kid. There's a really awesome limited edition boxed set in HMV right now, with all of the cartoon series which I've been meaning to buy for a while. Might need to get around to doing so!

How many copies made of each set?
Mr Hobbles replied to BearHeart's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm curious to know this myself. Does LEGO use the old batch method of producing product, where they make say...100,000, sell them, and then do another batch of 100,000, and so on? Or do they stick to the limited run method, where they make maybe 250,000, and once they're gone they're gone? If they did this they would have to produce enough the first time around to last them until the next collection of sets came out. -
Nice reviews, and nice pictures of the sets too! The large truck and garbage truck are already on my "to buy" lists, as is the cement mixer. Oh, and the petrol station. ...and the train station, sea port, container crane, etc...damn I'm gonna be so broke. :-/

I've made a few observations: 1. I bought Cafe Corner, and yes, there are slight colour variations between bricks of the same colour, but it doesn't annoy me at all. Also the circles on the windows are pretty common now, ie they are on the new Fire Station and on the new Police Station (My copies anyway). Again, it doesn't bother me so. 2. The bricks don't "seem" like they are made out of a different plastic than they used to be. They don't seem any more brittle or soft, and they certainly still have the same amount of stay, maybe more. 3. Having just gotten out of a dark age, prices have pretty much remained the same since I was a kid. I remember small police cars costing

Cool idea with hiding half the windows, but doesn't doing this ruin the wallpaper patern inside?

It looks very impressive, but I agree, 18 floors looks stupid. I would have left it at 3 or 4, as demonstrated on the back of the box. At any rate, a hell of a lot of money went into that.

10181 Eiffel Tower this August confirmed by reseller !
Mr Hobbles replied to agrotic's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If it's remotely close to minifig scale then I'll be buying it (ie. If it looks alright next to minifigs). Not a bad price; slightly cheaper than Cafe Corner, nice and tall (Even taller than 7905 Building Crane, by 40cm!), and lots and lots of pieces. As I said, I just hope it'll look alright in a minifig scale town! -
Should Aqua Raiders have a separate forum?
Mr Hobbles replied to dillthepill's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I voted yes as the themes are completely different. Also I think there have been enough underwater themes over the years to warrant their own forums. Aqua Raiders, Aqua Nauts, Divers, Aqua Zone, etc. -
Aww, as a City fan I was almost quite happy to hear this as I assume LEGO would then focus their efforts on City, Castle, Space etc! Unfortunately I fell for it hehe. :-$ Ah well, 2007 looks to be a good year anyway. :-D

Anyone? I'm in love with this plane... :-$

I'm looking for 4032 Promotional Plane, specifically the SAS Snowflake version. Does anyone have it? Doesn't necessarilly need to be boxed, but complete with instructions and the Snowflake stickers... Cheers :-)

I really really like the Metroliner, if only I could find it somewhere with a decent price. I myself bought 4512 World City Cargo Train today from Bricklink for

It looks like two of the new Fire Station's with a ton of white window frames and other parts, very nice. As said it looks almost the size of an actual fire station.

This looks promising, but am I right in thinking that those buildings are minifig scale rather than miniland scale? The first set of pictures look like they have minifigs rather than miniland figures.

Hey there! Welcome! Another townie, I see you found your way to town forums. Have a great time here Nathan

At the moment it's definently construction, purely for the big crane. It's gigantic. However if there was a "Civilian" theme it would be that because of Cafe Corner.

Usually I write my messages on my Acer TravelMate C302XMi Tablet PC. Other times I use my PowerBook G4 15 Inch. When I'm in university I use their iMac's.

I received mine this morning. I have to say it's the LEGO set I've been waiting for since I was young! I always hoped LEGO would release something like this. The whole building is very well made. Before my set arrived, I was wondering how the 45 degree corner was done as I'd played around in MLCAD and couldn't get it to fit without pushing the outside walls away. However now that I've built it, it's really quite simple. The containing walls where they touch the corner are actually either round or log cabin pieces. I really like the way the hotel sign is made. It's fairly normal up until you get to the E and then they use a SNOT technique. The only bad point is the tediousness of placing all the tiles for the CAFE part of the pavement. 1x1 tiles never sit exactly square and if you don't take your time it ends up looking like a dogs dinner. But that's the price to pay for such a high level of detail. Also when you're building it, make sure you're on a flat hard surface rather than a carpet. If you aren't, then when you build each level it won't sit exactly flat ontop of the floor below.

LEGO theme in the bbc coverage of the budget
Mr Hobbles replied to stan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's brilliant! Looks like it was filmed at Legoland Windsor. The ambulance was cool in the first video, but the car and tank were just really quite rubbish. :-D -
Do you have dreams about Lego when you're asleep?
Mr Hobbles replied to popkids's topic in Community
I don't think so...I have been thinking about LEGO a lot before I fall asleep, generally what projects I can make. I don't think this really counts as dreaming though... -
This morning I received my S@H order: 7905 Building Crane 7890 Ambulance 10182 Cafe Corner I also ordered 7242 Street Sweeper, but it's backordered until April 4th. :-( A friend of mine also persuaded me to buy 7237 Police Station from Toys R Us when we were looking for a present for her sister... The ambulance is really cool, and Cafe Corner is only like the best set EVAR. *y* The Building Crane is really impressive too, and much more robust than I was expecting. I love the Portacabin and Portaloo. Awesome. :-D The police station is ok...the van and motorbike are cool. It's generally a great horde of pieces for your own projects in my opinion.

Got 7942 Fire Pickup from Tesco today...was gonna buy 7237 Police Station but Toys R Us was closed and Tesco didn't have it. Also bought three Stanley organiser cases...big stonking carry cases with 16 organiser slots each. Gonna use them to keep my bricks in.
