But futureproof. So buy as many as you can? ;-)

Yeah, but I have the same problem on my copy of 4512 Cargo Train. Although the wire with the Metroliner is longer (Some would even say too long!) and so it's not so bad. I haven't had any derailments or anything from it. Where did you get the club car from, and how much did you pay for it? I've been looking for it everywhere and I'm not willing to pay over $100-150. xwingyoda - Damn you! I really want that gas station. Monday?! :'-(

I personally don't see why not. RC trains will run on both 9v and RC track, so where's the disadvantage in buying it? If LEGO stop the 9v line then you can just start buying RC track instead. If they stop the RC line, then you can just keep buying 9v track. On the other hand if you buy RC track now, and they stop making RC trains in the future, then you're a bit out of luck.

I must admit I was disappointed with the truck purely because of the red flatbed at the back. Why couldn't they have made it black or grey? It looks like a toy in red imo. However I must disagree about the rest of the set. I really don't mind that the boat hull is one piece, it's good for the kids as it floats, and it has a decent enough shape for me as an adult. There are quite a lot of studs ontop to build onto and nice little compartments for engines and such. The pier and the crane I like too. The pier looks really impressive, and I love the detail in these three pictures. In this set the lack of brickwork doesn't really bother me, after all, you wouldn't find much brickwork in a real crane either. :-)

Yes, those pictures actually belong to xwingyoda, and are on this very forum as part of his reviews. :-) You can find the threads at: http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=9359 http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=9365

What would you pay extra for the box
Mr Hobbles replied to Bonaparte's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm not sure. I do like the whole experiene of popping open a box, pouring out the bags of bricks and the instructions, and looking at the pictures on the back while I build. I guess it really depends on how much I love the set. However, if I really wanted it with a box I wouldn't pay more than 50% ontop (ie. $75 boxed instead of $50 unboxed). Instructions on the other hand is a must. And I wont pay extra. What good is a set if you don't know how to build it? Also I'd rather have a paper copy than have to rely on Peeron. -
Yay! My Metroliner arrived! When built, it looks awesome next to my favourite set, Cafe Corner. :-) I think Metroliner is now my second favourite set ever. I can tell, I wish we had a store like that in the UK. Oh how I'd like to live near that shop in Paris. *sweet*

Very very nice. I really want this set, even though at the moment it would have no place in my town. I love the boat, the crane is really cool, and the pier is just awesome. Add the 10 tonne loader onto this set and it's perfect. Cheers for the review. :-)

I really want this and the port. Thanks for the review! I think the price may be a little high, but then again it is a very unusual vehicle with an unusual colour. I also like the two containers that it comes with, I was expecting just one.

Very nice read. As someone who is just out of their dark ages I don't know what LEGO was like a few years ago, but I'm loving them right now. Although looking at old 99-01 catalogs shows vehicles made out of 5 pieces... I'm glad to see them back on track. Viva la LEGO! :-D
-
I think it might even be one. If you look at the new'ish Passenger Plane it has a back fuselage piece which looks like it should be two pieces, except it's one because they're screwed together. The way you can tell is with the sink holes for the screwes which the congrete mixer looks it has on the top.

That was me Today. And Monday. And it'll be the same this coming Friday. Not so much the studying, but three exams in one week. *n* Nice vig though, sums it up perfectly. :-D

I think they would need to release 48x48 roads if they did that, the normal 32x32 just won't fit those vehicles.
-
Damn the gas station already, that's the one I've been waiting for along with the garbage truck. Do you know when the official release date is?

A little update on the Metroliner, I got a letter from ParcelForce this morning saying they had held the package back as customs had added a

USPS tracking said they tried to deliver my copy of 10001 Metroliner today...there was no card through the door, and at the time it says they tried I was still in. Me angry. >:-( What with no "failed to deliver" card I don't know who tried to deliver it, and consequently I don't know who to call regarding arranging redelivery. I just have to hope they'll try to redeliver tomorrow. I'm willing to bet it was Royal Mail. They suck.

I don't think it does, if you look at the first pic it has no doors, just like all the preview shots we've seen. I think he's put doors in himself for the second and third pictures. :-(
-
Actually it's been confirmed there's gonna be a 4th: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,269355,00.html#2 I haven't seen the third one yet, but everyone I know who has seen it reckons it's not as good as the first two, and a bit dull. I hope to see it sometime in the next week myself.

Yeah, it's another airline promo. Same set with stickers. I've never been a fan of the plane that comes with the latest airport, it seems short and stumpy to me. And in my opinion it looks even worse with the ANA stickers and no red striping.

Some pictures of the new garbage collector truck: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=251674 PS: I love the new scale, I much prefer it to the old 4-wide everything. :-)

Just saw this picture of the new City Port set on BrickShelf: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/CMNed/Ri...ijswijk_026.jpg Looks awesome. Also you can see the small building for those of you that are interested. Looks like nothing special personally, but a nice touch. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/CMNed/Ri...ijswijk_012.jpg This one also has pics of the new Gas Station, Cement Truck, and "Big Green Truck". :-)

Can a lightsensor be used with set 8479?
Mr Hobbles replied to simonwillems's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm not sure if it will to be honest; I seem to remember the light-sensor from the RIS 1.5 reporting a value between 0 and 255 instead of 1 or 0. -

Mr Hobbles replied to legomilk's topic in General LEGO Discussion
June, not too far away! Where are you guys getting these info and pictures from? Or is it insider knowledge? ;-)
