I’m looking to sell off some of my collection. I thought this forum had a market section but can’t find it now. Is eBay my best option?

https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/forum/16-buy-sell-trade-and-finds/ I have used this before.

But personally I find ebay to have worked out better for me - it probably depends on location - I imagine if I was near to London maybe it would have been different but not being that close to other members meant it was never really that easy to do.

If your selling off any MOCs then there are some things to be aware of with using ebay - IP protection has long arms.

Any opinions on the best U-Wing MOC? I'm looking for something that is roughly minifig scale and as studless as possible.

I'm considering picking up the instructions for the Brick Vault version as they have a sale on but

wanted to see if anyone had any other suggestions.

    My recommendation for you.

    Hello Hold,

I'm also very interested in your PM to get inputs to paint my legos in silver. Your result is fantastic ! It looks like some tiles are still LBG as well which makes the result pop out really nicely with different light angles, is that correct ?

I googled plastikote and they seem to have been bought by Dupli-color, is it still any good ?

Thanks a lot for any advice !

    Cheers

Welcome to Eurobricks!  PM sent to you - you may find some limts on your account as a newbie (check the new member FAQs).  Nope no difference at all that I have noticed.

You mean buying the parts in silver? That would have been incredibly expensive! Is there even a seller that offers such a wide variety of silver parts?

Yup expensive and nope not many!

Well, not all of them of course but different parts, different metallic colors... But after the n1 (which was quite expensive relative to part count) I'll just throw in a few flat, metallic, pearl silver parts here and there and spray the rest. That'll be fun, actually looking forward to taking it apart and rebuilding it again.

And no there aren't enough parts and sellers... the problem is usually that even for just one lot you need several sellers as they usually only have pieces items....

PM'd - yup echo your comments on parts and sellers, throw in the odd lego part and it helps with the shading and patina and keeps costs down.

@Hold0511 soooooo.....now that I wanted to Update the BLO parts, I am reconsidering the the spraypainting. First i thought i'll just buy parts....but after having done that for the mando n1 i quickly went back to the painting plan :D god, these parts are expensive... can you tell me which spray you used exactly, i remember you mentioned plastikote.

Yup I found that's the best balance between a realistic finish similar to Lego's own drum lacquered parts and it being non destructive and removable if you so desire.  I can drop you a pm if you want more details to avoid upsetting anyone in this thread.

The original painting is supposed to be a squadron of WW2 "X-wings" about to be bombed by (what look to be German) "TIE fighters." Note the rebel insignia on the sides of the rebellion craft.

Ah with you now - thanks - great looking beast regardless.

  7. First BL order of BLO parts arrived and so far looking very good I have to admit - I was a bit sceptical but you can see from the remaining tan parts that it does make a positive difference.

Now I have to wait for the final parts to arrive for the remaining tan replacements then sort out that nose alignment.....

As @Jerachas given his approval to share it, here is the link to the list of parts needed to convert Tan to BLO in xml wanted list format for Bricklink

    https://mega.nz/file/XxFCSbZR#ylf6tYRfnoo6qsIdeRvc06lUq95gQ87x7KjpWUc385Q

The pieces "Plate, Round Corner 3 x 3" if you want you can use the ones you already have in tan color, since the are not visible when mounted inside the panel, but I have included it so that the conversion to the BLO color of the front panels are complete.

It is not a bad idea to buy some extra 1x1 and 1x2 plates, in case you want to modify the decoration in BLO by personalizing it. ;)

Fab thanks muchly - orders placed.

I have made a wanted list in bricklink of all the pieces that originally come in Tan color to order them in BLO, excluding those that are not visible because they are part of the internal structure of the ship.

If @Jerac doesn't mind, I could share it here to make ordering easier.

That would be most welcome - I was just looking at Jeracs RC wanted list which I kept to see what parts would be ordering in BLO.

1: I didn't make a list - but I've had to build out price out similar parts in bulk and it was not cheap (IE: my TIE Defender)
2: I'm not parting out any of my sets

3: The majority of parts are tiles and smaller parts - and in bulk - that gets pricey. The more parts - the harder it is to keep the price down. not to mention other rare/unusual parts all around. I could build a list out but I think it safe to assume its going to be more expensive than the UCS Lego set - easily.

    No worries..

As I said, I have the MOC and the parts list - its just over £510 including the stand, the rare parts and not parting the first RZ - given the current exchange rate from a UK view that's about $565..

Looking at 1.5-2K USD in terms of estimation for Jerac's mighty fine MOC - been debating for some time now to build that.

With this new UCS model - while its not as great? It's vastly cheaper.

May I ask if you have Jerac's part list to get to that cost? I'm surprised at that given the US is usually cheaper than the UK with a far larger number of parts and sellers on BL.

I have the MOC and still have the BL XML wanted list - if you just run straight as it without any messing/fiddling/an not using Lego parts service its (with stand) £511.91p on 9 orders (new/used) - so P&P of course to add.

Its a lot less if your willing to part your 75292 in as that gives you some of the more expensive parts like the canopy and the two carbonite "figure" parts (they are £47 alone for the three).

So to me its a good place to be as a customer - you have a number of options and can pick which you like best, mine is a lovely metallic silver, landing gear up and I'm very happy with it.  If you not interested in the sourcing of parts, want a pure UCS set with what that offers - great you now have a cool looking set from Lego.  Everyone can have the RZ they want.

I think the Razor Crest is awesome.  I’m loving that Lego is giving us the non mini figure/mini figure scale ships with full fleshed out interiors.  Hopefully this can continue, maybe with a Star Destroyer or Invisible Hand full fleshed out interior and a big one for me would be Slave 1.

I know a lot of people may say I’m picky but I would of loved the bed to be slightly left more so it could include the toilet facility to the right. And maybe even have a little shutter that comes down like in the series.

EDIT: If they can do the Razor Crest in this colour there is no reason we can’t get Naboo Royal Starship like this.

Sorry I don't follow the edit comment - its in LBG so what's the reference to the Naboo RS?

@Falcrum You’re not wrong. I was comparing the pictures to the original flat light grey MOC, the silver rally stands out and I thought the reflections and bright sunlight helped, but on its own it’s hardly noticeable… maybe like you say a little bit dusty! I’ll have to work on showing the silver off better.

I went down the Plasti-kote path for Jeracs RZ and Azanderk's N1 - same problem with the light/sun and taking pics - half light or indirect sunlight is your friend in being able to see your shiny silver N1.  (https://bricksafe.com/pages/hold0511/jeracs-razor-crest - you would not believe its the same ship...).

If you get a chance to do some more pics that can show off your paint scheme that would be great to see - I love seeing the different N1s and how the panels all work out.
