  1. I'm a bit wary of buying used as some people's interpretation of condition differs greatly from mine. White parts are always new and even then you can get variances. The only time I don't worry about it (too much) are for internal technic frames that can't be seen or if it's a rare part that's nigh on impossible to get hold of new. For K-2S0, I brought virtually all the parts new (the only exception was for part 41680 which I couldn't get new from the UK). The droid looks great, despite being all shiny, as there's enough colour texture built into the body to show the worn aspect of K2. From my point of view, the stickered bits definitely needed new parts, especially the 2x2 slopes round the arm sockets and part x224 used for the shoulder plates (the slopes already have a rough surface and the shoulder plate stickers have to be wrapped around the 3 sections of the windscreen).

Bricklink functions do not work - editing wanted list

@LateralusArt From personal experience, the "only one item / colour combination is allowed per wanted list" usually crops up if a part number you are trying to change already exists in that colour/ part combination. (It won't, for example let you change Red 2x2's into Black 2x2's if the wanted list already contains Black 2x2's) If you do a "sort by item number" so all the same part type are grouped together you should be able to alleviate the problem by increasing the colour/part you want (by tapping on the screen where the want/have count is) then deleting the colour that you were trying to change/no longer want.
  3. I wasn't sure if the original MOC page was going to be updated or if a new page was going to be assigned for the updated version hence the reason I asked. If the original page was just updated there would be no second build page to compare it to. If a new page is going to be created then that's a bonus and that will make it a hell of lot easier to decipher what's what.
  4. @Cjd223 when this is all finished is there any chance of there being a comparison sheet against the old parts list? I ask as I've been slowly obtaining the parts for this (from the Rebrickable parts list) and it would be handy to know what extra bits I need on top of the original parts list.
  5. Evening all, First up, if this is in the wrong place, I apologise and feel free to move it to the correct category. This is my first time posting a MOC as I generally build sets from varying themes or spend time Bricklinking large Star Wars MOCs that other people have designed. Because of this I generally spend most of my time lurking around in the Star Wars forums looking at what others come up with instead of broadening my horizons with other stuff. Due to very limited space constraints I generally have to build a set, display it for a bit then disassemble, bag up and store. This build started out life as a bog standard #70615 Ninjago Movie Fire Mech and everything on it came out from the parts in that set. It was whilst the disassembly bit with the Fire Mech that I got to thinking how many cool parts the set had in it and started to wonder what I could come up with to build from the dark recesses of my limited imagination. The mech itself had already got me thinking about the old puppet show Starfleet with the big red mech in and this then meandered into the style of ships these old shows had which in turn started me building. Not sure that I entirely got to the finished style I wanted, but pleased with the result nonetheless. So without further ado, my first ever large(ish) MOC. (And the second one below) Full on top view The bit no one sees. Head on Side View The back end (would have liked to tart this up a bit but ran out of small pieces that would work) So there it is, be gentle but comments and criticism welcome. Updated Edit, After finishing the first build above I set about disassembling #70613 - Garma Mecha Man and decided to try the same sort of thing and add it to this thread instead of starting a new one. Once again, this is using only parts that come in the set itself. The Top. The Bottom Front End. Back End Side View. This time I will apologise in advance for the rubbish photography as I still don't have a proper set up to take pictures.

Ninjago Mechs - Alternative Build Space Racers

@Jerry McGlade, thanks for that. Had another go at a Ninjago alternative build spaceship in the same sort of style but it wasn't a mech this time. #70735 Ronin R.E.X. I found this one a lot harder to make into something else as the cockpit screen is huge. Went for a two seater cockpit in the end so the pilots wouldn't raffle about in a huge empty space.

Ninjago Mechs - Alternative Build Space Racers

@pombe, my apologies for the crappy photography. My 'set up' relies on white card on top of the kitchen cooker (I really don't have a lot of space in my place) and I do intend on getting a proper lighting box at some point in the future when other things become less essential. Thanks for the kind words on the model though. Muchly appreciated.

75252 Imperial Star Destroyer HELP PLEASE!!!!!

@lowlead, at least you've built it so have more insight than I do. I was just guessing.

75252 Imperial Star Destroyer HELP PLEASE!!!!!

First up, I haven't built the set so anything at this point is going to be purely speculative based on the instructions and what you've said in your post. Firstly, I wouldn't worry about the designer video as he has it built as separate modules for ease of construction on the video and I would imagine the designer has had the build put together and pulled apart more times than he cares to mention so probably has more insight than most as to short cuts to take when building. As for you question, from looking at the instructions, have you double checked the spacing on the two end builds of the middle support strut to make sure that the gapping in between the technic beams and the plates that hold the right angled end plates is correct? If this is out on one of the ends this may cause the problems your dealing with as it may have meant the black hinges are in slightly the wrong place which in turn could possibly bend the support strut when the bottom rear panel is fitted which could mean the top one won't fit without undue stress. Also you mentioned two of the four hinges popped out. Shouldn't it be connected by six hinge plates (two on either end of the support strut and two in the middle hinged small panel which is connected to the bottom large panel)? As I said, haven't built the model myself so this is purely guess work but from stuff I have built, if a section appears to be over stressed in any way, I've usually made a small error somewhere. Hope you get your issue sorted even if this doesn't help.

    SB00401 K-PROJECT (MOC K-2so UCS)

Seriously impressive. Definitely one to build when instructions become available. Love it, your best yet IMO (and the others were exceptional).

What is your favorite UCS Set of all time?

Haven't built my Falcon yet but to make me part with that much of my hard earned cash it's definitely something special. At first glance the SSD was an impressive sight but after taking my rose coloured specs off (as it was my first completed Bricklink project) it has a few too many issues to make it a brilliant set. So I'll have to agree with a lot of others for the top spot (of sets I've built), it has to be Slave 1. It's a great build and an equally impressive finished product.

    [REVIEW] 75256 - Kylo Ren's Shuttle

Excellent review of a vastly superior version of this ship. I appreciate not comparing it to the previous version from a build point of view but it would be interesting to know which parts in DBG on the old shuttle are replicated in Black for this version. Being one of the many that does own the previous incarnation, comparing parts to modify the old version into a DBG new version would be something to consider for those on a budget (myself included). Failing that the old ones going to become a box of parts right after I get the new one.
  14. It appears these are Rip offs as the same seller has the @cavegod Sandcrawler and the @mortesv Nebulon B for sale as well.
  15. One of the biggest problems with getting a half decent interior into the Tantive is with the shape of the ship. If its made to the correct proportions (big engines and slim body), the cockpit and main body will be too skinny for anything substantial to fit inside but if its made to fit any sort of 'scene' it's going to have to be bigger/bulkier than previous versions to keep to the correct proportions or end up looking like a hybrid of 10019 & 10198 to include the play features. (10198's 'interior' was at best minimalistic and wasn't really recognisable as any part of the film I saw).
  16. Just a heads up for anyone thinking of doing this in the near future, there is a Bricklink seller (nicematacz) that currently has 27, 10188 sticker sheets for sale at approx £4.50 + p&p. Considering what they have been going for, even with the p&p to the UK it worked out a reasonably good price.

    Inside Tour 2018 - 4000025 Ferguson Tractor

Loved the look of this but as some parts are not available in the correct colours yet I decided to build my own version. Obviously the chromed bits are customised Lego parts and I'm not entirely sure if it's built 100% the way TLG intended (built from pictures posted on Brickset) but it's sturdy enough to be handled/played with so I was happy with how it turned out. Have to say thanks to Brickset member Stlux for posting pictures of his set built (and a bit of assistance with making sure the parts list was correct) otherwise this wouldn't have been possible.
  18. @pandazerg I have to be honest, I had the same issue with the above. To cut a long story short, I cheated. I fitted the first set of plates, the first set of bricks and the second set of plates individually onto the shaft without the rest of the block, the second brick to go on the underside was excruciatingly tight but did go in with some force (which was when I decided to give up on the two sided bricks) and then changed the bricks with studs on both sides on the bottom part of the shaft to bricks with studs on 1 side only and slid the whole lot over the shaft (you do need to keep the ones on top of the build to keep the whole thing square on the shaft. It also doesn't matter what colour as you use as you won't see them when it's finished). The clutch between the first lot of bricks and plates and the remaining brick and plate assembly was strong enough to complete the build and as the bricks will eventually be held together with the plates that make up the top, bottom and side panels of the build it should hold okay (hasn't caused me any undue problems). Hope this helps.
  19. I don't have comparison pics next to any UCS sets myself but there is a picture of @ScottishDave's next to his UCS Falcon Here about 16 comments in.
  20. Finally got round to building mine. First time I'd attempted something like this from PDF instructions, I did run into a few minor issues but most is that was because I've got 2 left hands the size of shovel heads. Great fun to build and thanks to @Cjd223 for all his hard work on the instructions and to @mortesv for building it in the first place. (also a shout out to @EKae and @ecmo47 for the LDD files that originally set me on my journey).

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

@OCD_Chad Here's a link to the Brickset Ultimate Collection list. Although looking through the box art for these only the list below actually has the words "Ultimate Collectors Series" on them. 75181, 75192, 75144, 75098, 75159 (although I don't think 10188 does), 75060, 75095, 75059, 10179, 10026, 10030, 7181 & 7191 And of these, only 7191, 7181, 10030, 10026, 10179, 75192 & 75181 actually have it written, the others have the Ultimate collectors series gold badge.

    Building Mortesv's Nebulon-B Thread

@Darth Max Not sure if it's of interest but part 85941 is available from the Bricks and Pieces side of the Lego Website at 0.71p per brick (UK price). There may be cheaper on Bricklink but for the quantity required, all brand new and if you bung in some other parts to take it over the threshold for free delivery, no extra cost.
