    Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

Has anyone placed an order today (within the last hour) and gotten the GWP added? I'm not even seeing it in the list of offers/promotions on the site anymore

Fairground Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I think this is definitely one that I would get two copies of and set up with the other, bigger fairground sets.

    Ease of mirroring official sets

I've also done this several times w/ building sets. One example was the Toy Shops from WV series - I have both the original and re-release, so I build one the regular way and one mirrored. I didn't have any issues w/ substitutions, just looked at the instructions and did the mirror/opposite of whatever step was called for. Let us know what you end up doing!

    REVIEW: 71043 Hogwartsâ„¢ Castle

Has anyone ever found a solution of sorts to this? I'm trying to think of something that will set the female microfigs apart, so they will stand out on display, and am coming up short. I feel like TLG really needs to come up with something for this.

    [MOC] Modular: Metropolitan Courthouse

YES THIS EXACTLY. Love the detailing. Your photography is amazing. Perfect interiors - the chain pull on the lav! Courtroom! Gavel!

    [MOC] Winter Village Cafe

I like the aesthetic - seems to be a build you could do from existing WV sets if you have spares. I like the brick built coffee mug out front. I agree w/ kokkie20 that the instruction set seems to be a bit spendy, but otherwise I think it's a fantastic addition.

    MOD 10224 Townhall

This is very good work. That front door on the original has always felt cramped to me. I know the official modulars have a consistent depth there on the sidewalk, but here I think it would be fine - people can walk under the covered area on their stroll down the sidewalk. Nicely done!

    REVIEW: 75955: Hogwarts Express

Hello all! My almost-9-year-old wants "Harry Potter LEGO" for his upcoming birthday, but when asked which one will say "all of them" I plan on collecting them all myself, but have held off for economic reasons - it's both a blessing and a curse that so many awesome sets have come out in 2018. I'm considering the Hogwarts Express for him, for playability - other option would be Quidditch. For those of you that have one or both of these sets, which do you think would be better for a kid this age? TIA!

    MOC Modular Travel Agency

I missed this the first time around - love it! I love modulars that incorporate a built-in walkway (detective's office, assemly square, etc), and I really like the way yours came out. I also think you did a great job w/ the back of the building. I feel this gets neglected often times.

    Insuring your LEGO collection?

Resurrecting this topic, rather than starting a new one. Has anyone had experience insuring their Lego collection through their homeowner's (or similar) policy? My collection is worth less than this $50k limit mentioned above, but is probably getting up there in terms of what I would be able to easily replace if there was some kind of break in or weather event. Did you itemize your larger/more collectible sets? Save receipts (including eBay)? Keep a running estimate of current value?

    Buying order

I have a wishlist on Lego.com, and I tend to buy the oldest set on it in any given price group. I have a few small things on there ($10-30), a few medium things ($40-80) and a few bigger ones ($180-300+) Depending on the promotion (double VIP points, gift with purchase, etc), I look at my list and see what will fit. For GWP, the least expensive set that will get me the gift - for double VIP points, whatever money I've saved up and then which set has been out the longest/about to retire. Limited edition stuff gets bought sooner, of course. Your list seems fine. I don't think there's a "right" way to do it, and given what's on your list, I think the brick bank (maybe the ferris wheel) is the most likely to get retired first. I bought the Parisian Cafe when it was on sale; I think the modular buildings go on sale before they retire (at least, that one and the Palace Cinema did).
