Space Police XVIII replied to whitswj's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi

Very neat. Nice use of the cruch parts.

Hao Gao Le according to the seller, the packaging or minifigs don't have any brand markings. Anyway, the smell went away quickly, or the nerve damage got so bad I don't notice.

I just got these, here's a minireview. They literally stink. Right out of the bag, this harsh chemical smell that gave me a headache, lead poisoning and probably seven different kinds of cancer. Their quality is pretty inconsistent, some have pretty tight limbs and some a bit loose, and you can see the printing is misaligned here and there. Some arms and almost all helmets needed a razor blade to remove excess plastic flash. Each included an extra hand and minifig base, and one of those arrived pretty mangled. How do you say quality control in Chinese? Trick question, YOU DON'T The heads are white plastic with chrome coating that will probably start flaking and wearing off as soon as I finish typing this sentence, with the particles inducing cancer number eight, but it hasn't happened yet. Even with all that, I like them. The blue matches Lego blue exactly, parts aren't falling off, they're alright. I'm going to get some black Ninjago masks, swap out heads, make a squad of mooks and then a Rattler.

So far I've liked everything by Dan Abnett - especially the Inquisition books - and Sandy Mitchell's Cain series. I need to catch up on those... I'll keep the Space Wolves in mind. Though the 1d4chan description might've colored my impression of them a little bit. Any recommendations for Tau?

It's Yellow Light the Scarecrow! His powers include beating people with a fire extinguisher and sometimes putting out small fires.

War 40k novels. And not the decent ones. Definitely not the decent ones. I hate everything and pray for the cleansing flames of nuclear annihilation

I like it. Nice parts use, especially on the zipline bits and spy backpack. Those wrenches in front look a bit naked though. In your place I'd add a hose nozzle piece to each side, holding a yellow triangle sign vertically.

Absolutely. It's almost 100% space over here, but I've got a growing collection of reference pics and a pile of gray bricks... I want to build a castle, some huge towering thing surrounded by greenery that's slowly creeping up the walls. If it ever happens it'll get converted into a Classic Space base five seconds later.

Survey: New parts and new colors

I am very curious why Lego never went ahead with those, though smaller sizes would be even better. Mine are from Wange. Set JX001 has 25. -

Wange brand, set JX001 came with 25 of them. Good quality, exactly the same thickness as a Lego plate. -

These would be nice. -
Thanks for the review! I'd been curious about Megablocks and now I know to stay away!

Nice shape, especially the beak in front. Hawk's a fitting name.

me, I found them by looking for the individual minifigs, kl036 had a few results. Searching by manufacturer name also works. Hao gao le

No, got the set. The stores selling them individually priced them too high. Aliexpress is weird. Anyway, if you want, cover postage and I can send you that one.

I couldn't resist Cobra Commander, now to wait six to eight years until the package arrives...

LEGO Sci-Fi 2017 Pictures and Rumors

That IS a nice look. With mine, I'm not even trying for the old style. A neck bracket and 1x1 tile makes for a decent modernized life-support pack, too. -

Here's hoping it continues for a few more years. Actually, I'd love to see it become eternal like Ninjago, and we never see classic castle again. Nabii, in that brickset thread: -

One Tyco plate is equal in height to a Lego plate plus baseplate, which can be pretty useful.- 16 replies

Special Pieces - Your Opinion
Space Police XVIII replied to legostarwars1425's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I used to be a purist, then I got better. There're some useful pieces out there. Brickforge makes a 1x1 round tile with clip, and a 'nightstick' piece that's a t-shaped bar...thing longer than the Lego equivalents. I've got a few 1x2 and 2x2 plates with studs on both sides, 2x2s with anti-studs, bar/antennae pieces longer than any Lego's made, other things. And of course third party weapons, armor, wings and stuff are nice for variety.- 16 replies

Lax uniform standards are just one of the concessions given to officers in the dystopian hellscape of Lego Town. The department spends too much on helicopters, every officer has to get their own uniform.

LEGO Sci-Fi 2017 Pictures and Rumors
Space Police XVIII replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Yes, they are. You purists can have your eye-searingly hideous mismatched minifigs, I'll be over here pointing and laughing. no, not really also, for anyone that cares, Gudi makes those.
