Well, that's different. I guess the idea is they pull the arms in to form wings? Really nice look on the Mustang mech, too.

Apparently the next movie started filming yesterday, is anybody else excited? I bet it'll have a death star that's bigger like a whole death PLANET no wait, been done. Maybe some guy licking a tree to show it's not on Endor?

Macy looks best with a mohawk. But then, everybody looks better with a mohawk.- 1601 replies

Great song. Great build, especially the wings. This makes me want to go shooting. -
Cute. I like it. The forward antennae are a very nice touch.

M-Tron, BlackTron, Ice Planet, Space Police - 1990s - this was the best era of Lego Space

There's at least one third party doing this. http://steindrucker.com/space-classic -
Leaving Starfire mostly out of it was a wise move. it took some time to come up with something nice to say and I am proud of the results

Aliexpress stores are starting to sell individual parts. Unfortunately they're on aliexpress and there's no such thing as standardized tags or titles; good luck finding them. Searching for blocks, moc, diy, rebrickable, that sort of thing, should work. I'm sure I had a good reason to get a couple hundred 1x1 round tiles in dark bley...

The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)

For a moment there I thought we'd got new windows in trans-yellow, and was all excited. -
Yeah. I just bought glass for all the empty frames in this set.... My wallet hurts.
-
Very spidery. I like it! Adding another leg segment might be an improvement, just eight pairs of those bar-with-claw and its opposite piece.
-
something for the Classic Space people: there's this Canadian guy on bricklink that sells custom glass in several colors and sizes. Including these. IIRC Lego only offered this part in trans dark blue. Good quality, good fit, close match to Lego's own trans yellow, they're a little pricy but not as pricy as original Lego parts.

This is a really nice build, and the green color works well for Russian gear. And it's got enemies' hands on the turret as trophies! Brutal.

Looks great. Nicely detailed and appropriately massive. Any other photos? Will there be trailers?- 7 replies

Brilliant cockpit design. I'm definitely stealing that, sometime. -
[Poll] What do you do with new sets?
Space Police XVIII replied to mocbuild101's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Voted other: build the main model, then modify it to fit the rest of my stuff. Example, Creator Drone Explorer set became a futuron vehicle. Also have gotten in the habit of knolling parts across my desk before building, it gives a nice overview of the stuff I've just bought, makes color swaps easier, adds time to the building process, it's kind of nice. -
Right, right, aren't they just unspeakably awesome? Kre-O set 38953 is worth picking up if you find one cheap. It has six of those dark gray 1x1 round bricks with holes, perfect for engine pieces or cannon muzzles, and some other useful junk. Like this weapon that looks like an oversized Skorpion. Also for anyone that cares, their light gray is a perfect match for Lego old light gray.

Excellent news.

It's set 6644 in space. The 4-wide slope in front, and number three tile, are from the original. Basically the same thing. Little red sports car thing, yellow trailer cargo attachment, black racing hoverspacebike. Inside the cockpit there's juuuust enough space for airtanks and a helmet, and I crammed in a bunch of tools, spare parts and stuff because playability reasons.
-
thanks guys. I was going to duplicate that set photo but got lazy.

Awww, it's cute!

Some Gudi sets (and Sluban, and Star Diamond, probably others since these guys copy each other constantly) come with this nice missile launcher piece, angry science elf for scale It attaches to this 2x2 plate with short pin. Stud or axle also works. Gudi uses the same plate as one half of their take on the 2x2 turntable. Two of the launcher pieces come with set 8616, and while on that subject, it's also got three of these neat bidirectional hinge bricks.
