(LDD MOC) Another T-70 X-wing
Space Police XVIII replied to YellowCorvette's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That is a very cool looking ship. The angled windshield with plates on its side looks great, I'm going to have to steal that idea.- 30 replies

Haha, that's great. The handlebars not being attached to the bike..that looks like cheating, somehow.

Lego part colors you hate.
Space Police XVIII replied to Takanuinuva's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Now that you mention it, the tan/dark tan axles are a bit annoying. I'm building monochrome Bionicle figures and here's a tan piece, here's a blue pin, here's a bit of red peeking through something or other...it would be nice to have everything in nice, old dark gray. I'm annoyed by the blues. Blue, light blue, metal blue, medium azure, Maersk blue, sky blue, blue-violet, aqua, medium blue, no Lego what are you doing stop -
Daaaaaaaaaaaamn. VERY nicely done. I take it the center bits are to rotate to mimic gravity?

I like these improvements! Nice A-Wing. And thanks for the robot closeups, off to Bricklink I go. As if I weren't broke enough.

Is anybody army building the Skulls?
Space Police XVIII replied to Thewyldman's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I've got an army of Skull Slicers. But my armies top out at 2-3 individuals, for which my wallet is grateful. -
Z 222 Coupe, modified - AKA 'Space Junk'
Space Police XVIII replied to Chase The Cop's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
That's an illegal connection, yeah. http://bramlambrecht...stress-bf06.pdf Someone call the Lego police, it's out of my jurisdiction. Even though, Lego's done this themselves, in an official set. Police car, no less. Set number 420. I am not making this up. -
Minifig parts and accessories you don't like
Space Police XVIII replied to AmperZand's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Agreed. Those things are just ugly. That huge scimitar has its use, but it's being overused right now. Zombie Pirate would be better with a regular scimitar. The stud shooter pistol is terrible if it's a pistol, but there's a variety of pieces that can be stuck on the back to make it a two-handed heavy weapon, which looks halfway decent. One thing I really can't stand are cloth bits. -
This is my take on set 6861, X-1 Patrol Craft, from 1980. All light grays with green accents..I guess that's pre-Classic Space? The missiles are from an old Tyco set. Some dark gray accents are present, because I ran out of parts. The seating is built to accommodate the new, compact life support units. A storage compartment at the rear holds an extra one of those, and a weapon for the pilot. Trans-yellow...I'm not sure about this, think I prefer green. This is one of my favorite sets from old Classic Space. I never had one, but now can build my own version, it's all good. offers a really good look at the original from all angles, if anyone's interested.

Seconding this, any chance for another photo or two? I want one like it. Nice builds, overall, my favorites would be the complicated-looking dropship and yellow/orange walker. The tower's also great.

Thank you. I should post here more often, the feedback really did improve it. I am grateful for that! I like mixing the two, but not like that... those wings don't look right in person.. You're right about the green canopy, I had to make a final version. Thanks! It's one of my top 'wanted this, never had it as a kid' sets. I love the spare, fast look, but just HAD to make it bigger.Final version, front. Minor changes made, barely worth a new post. Rear view. I'm sick of looking at it. Plus I need the parts. Rest in pieces, little fighter! Any landing you can walk away from, etcetera. The pilot walks until the alien sunrise... which may or may not be the result of me being too lazy to retake a really crappy photo.. and is met by a little rescue ship.

Z 222 Coupe, modified - AKA 'Space Junk'
Space Police XVIII replied to Chase The Cop's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Nice job, on both versions. The taillights and license plate really nail down the small civilian spacecraft look, and the Space Junk looks ..well, exactly as it says. Great greebling on that one. -
I like it. Great use of the parts separators.

Thanks! Ah, a purist! I used to be one of you guys. You know, you should relax now and then! Live a little. Come over to the Dark Side. We've got cookies! And megab...bl...blrrg no, I can't do it, there are standards Okay, you inspired the Mk.II version. More guns! Less colors! More flatness!

If you mean the individual weapon, it's a combination hose handle and lightsaber hilt. I'm divided on this set...not really a big fan of the design. I HATE the front end. The grille assembly is too wide, clashes with the rounded top of the fuselage. I narrowed it by one, mounted it using jumper plates, looks much better. The color I like, I'm very low on dark red. It's got a TON of parts I find useful. The minifigs are decent. To me, it's worth the price.

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
Space Police XVIII replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
75099, Rey's Speeder. I seem to have developed this habit of converting Star Wars sets to Classic Space.. -
[MOC] Rey's Speeder (Realistic Scale)
Space Police XVIII replied to JaydenIrwin's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Nice redesign! I bought the set today, and came here for ideas on how to improve the build. For those asking - no, the set doesn't have those wedge plates, also missing the 1x2 brick with grille pattern and maybe some other parts.- 22 replies

I like this thing. Nice design, the asymmetry and launcher remind me a little of the Summoner from Mechwarrior. The legs, too. And the arms just a little...hmmm.

So...here's a pair of combat robots, meeting a maintenance guy somewhere out in space. Yup, just slightly modified AT-AT microfighters. I meant to replace that stupid neck hinge with a ball joint and...things happened. I slipped. There was an earthquake! when I came to the chassis were widened by one, details swapped around, some other changes made.... there were supposed to be different assemblies to fit on the back, but I ended up only building one type. Here's another look at those quads, just because.

I like the gray monotony, really makes the shape stand out. That's a great idea for the grille, it took me a moment to figure out what it was. Nice use of the engine/hood scoop pieces. Nice truck, and nice collection!

That bike is fantastic. Nice use of the trike body, I've been building around them for awhile and never thought to turn it around. Nice job on the hunter, too!
-
Really nice design! Nice use of those curly plant whatsits. I can't quite make out what's behind them, is that a length of hose?
