Had exactly an hour to spare last night so set myself a quick 1 hr challenge to knock up a Home One diorama - mainly as I recently got a Tridax pod (60934) in a bricklink haul. I usually limit my dioramas to two modified 12x12 bricks (part 52040), but due to the layout of the scene, I let myself stray here. I included the little X-wing doing a fly-by just because I happen to have picked up issue 1 of the new Lego Star Wars magazine today - this was the cover mounted build. My official Shuttle Tydirium hasn't arrived yet - if I haven't taken it apart, I'll substitute the Leia and endor troopers then. Thoughts appreciated!

Picked up 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium on ebay for £60 - I suspect it originated from the recent Argos 3-for-2 sale as it came still wrapped in the Argos bag! Fresh out of the box today.

It's great - I'd definitely pick this up if it was produced, especially for the MTT!

This isn't just a shameless bump (honest)... finally got round to building my Shuttle Tydirium last night, so could substitute in the new Endor minifigs before breaking this down and wanted to get a couple of shots of the new troopers + Leia hearing the low-down from Ackbar!

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Richpepperell replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I totally agree - I did a side by side comparison of my Falcon with the image and found a lot of changes, especially around the turret as you mention. The internal structure of the front pincers is obviously very different too, as I'm guessing you need reach into one of the vents to launch the missiles. Obviously the interior is going to be a big factor, but I'm already thinking about beating the old one! -

I totally agree. The Death Star Final Duel has been my favourite set this year. I have very limited display space, and vehicles don't tend to hang around for long. When I've got location based sets out - they stay out! I tinker about with the minifigures every time I walk past. That said, lack of official location sets does give me plenty of motivation for MOCing my own dioramas. -
Hey, I've been MOCing scenes from the Star Wars movies (pretty much exclusively OT) but I've only just gotten round to posting! This is my latest - the infamous Bespin Duel. Checked loads of movie stills, but couldn't find a single view of the whole gantry, so I've taken a bit of artistic licience. The main reason it's taken so long to get round to is the lack of a Bespin Luke minifig - I've put him together from a rebel technician torso and Johnny Thunder (jungle) legs! https://flic.kr/p/wn2iaz https://flic.kr/p/wjfUPC https://flic.kr/p/w4XH5h https://flic.kr/p/vpy9y3 https://flic.kr/p/wkUu2W https://flic.kr/p/w4Xwvu https://flic.kr/p/wmzexk I couldn't resist getting Luke to throw himself off at the end! https://flic.kr/p/wn2m6V

Been meaning to get round to this for a while - the famous discovery of Leia's message. As always, I've gone for more of the general feeling of the scene rather than screen-accutrate, but I'm fairly happy with it either way. I like to try an contain my MOCs to two 12x12 plates, which seems to be the perfect size here. I've taken some liberties - obviously there is no official Leia hologram, so the Emperor is standing in. Also, the speeder that can be seen off to the left is not the one seen on screen, but is a little nod to the speeder used in Episode 2, captured in lego form in the Tusken Encounter set. Critique welcomed! I don't know what the general consensus is to adding effects to photos, but I just thought this was a nice finishing touch...

Totally agree - the game trailer has shown Sullustan and Rodian rebels - that would be so cool. -

That sounds awful! Both the Chima and ninjago comics have minifigs pretty much every month with the occasion "weapons stand" thrown in. -

Is it possible to ask what is advertised as the free build with the 3rd issue - I remember reading somewhere it was an "imperial cannon" or something along those lines. -
As a kid, I was always really jealous of a friends Kenner Imperial Troop Transport - even though it didn't appear in any Star Wars film it was a super cool toy. When the ITT then showed up in the Rebels show, it pushed my nostalgia buttons and I was even more pleased when the official battlepack was announced. I've bought up loads of the battlepacks just for the stormies but the ITT is not up to scratch, so I've had a go myself. I was going more for a general feel than screen accuracy and I was particularly pleased to get the angles at the front. The little yellow accents were added to fit in with the colour scheme of the AT-DP (the polybag version - which is supposed to be some distance away - in the photos features a microscale snowtrooper from the Battle of Hoth game!). The ITTs featured in Rebels seem to be used to transport prisoners more than troops, hence the scene. Feedback gratefully received!

Hoth attack - maybe this could be an attack by the Wampa, as glimpsed is the recent hoth video that featured the ucs echo base. There was a glimpse of a Wampa cave with different features to the last one. -
[MOC] Lars garage - help me Obi Wan Kenobi...

That's them. I first got them in 7623 Indiana Jones Temple Escape and now try and pick them up whenever I see them - they're fantastic for dioramas. -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Richpepperell replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hey - this is a general question, but also heavily related to star wars lego MOCing. What's the general opinion on using a few special effects on MOC photos? In particular, I like to use an iOS app called 'Laser Sword photo editor fx' which enables you to add lightsaber effects (like below - this one's a bit scrappy, I just did it real quick). I know this is achieving an effect with a bit of a cheat, but is it 'legal' or a bit frowned upon? -
Thanks for all the fantastic feedback - really encouraging. I've made a couple of changes and I'm just waiting for a new hairpiece for Luke to arrive then I'll post some more pics. I'm going more for the vibe of the scene rather than total screen-accuracy so I'm chuffed with the responses so far!
