Bricklinking the Lambda-Class Imperial Shuttle 10212
jhaelego replied to Spud The Viking's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That's quite the journey! You'll love the outcome. I bought an incomplete shuttle from ebay that including everything minus the minifigs, stand, and head/cockpit section for 240 and was able to bricklink the rest of the ship or about 60 bucks. I agree with Nathan though, check lego b&P for pieces that seem a bit expensive on bricklink, particularly those double convex bricks on the cockpit. Also, keep in mind that white bricks are subject to discoloring, so if you really want the shit to look uniformly clean, I'd suggest buying all new parts. Otherwise, you'll have discolored sections that really stick out. This is especially important for this ship since it's almost completely white. Best of luck though! -
Has anyone experimented with modding the U-Wing to have two pilot seats?

Picked up the FO Star Destroyer polybag from walmart.

Wow, haha. Little did we know that would be a look into a future LSW set. Let's hope the same goes for the falcon on the death star box ;)

I'm hoping for a Niima outpost gate, as well as crusher roodown with the quadjumper set.

I scaled the minifigure to a 6 foot person and got that it should be at 7 inches. A minifig is 1.5 inches, the walker is 338.53 inches. I don't think the walker should be much taller than that, even if you scale it to different heights.
-
This is phenomenal. I would love to do something like this one day.
-
The full height. I think the body is roughly the correct size, but it is definitely way too tall.

But hey, you'd probably get a Hoth Han with it. Which would totally justify the price.

Those are X-Wing uniforms though? Also, what head piece are you guys using for Biggs? The yularen looks great.

A motorized MTT is a cool idea. I think it would be crucial to include the droid dock in it somehow.
-
I did some math, and the current AT-ST is definitely too tall. A minifig scale AT-ST should be roughly 7 inches tall.

Now its build time. (Revan not pictured) by Jhaelon Edwards, on Flickr My Rogue Friday pickups.

Bricklink has their U-Wing review up and it looks phenomenal. I am particularly happy with the amount of space and headroom in the troop compartment. The reviewer says you can fit 6 figs inside.

I believe the Death Troopers in the BP will be ones without the pauldron/pockets, keeping the ones from the shuttle unique. I guess it isn't IDEAL for have that kind of distrubution of troops, but guys, we have been waiting for any sort of cheap way to get the newest OT stormtroopers for such a long time. I will embrace this with open arms.

I am optimistically hoping that the Y-Wing has a 50 dollar price point, based on the prices of other R1 sets. If it is, I will absolutely pick up two of them.

I am hoping someone has a reasonable explanation for the lack of chrome minifig because I have been puzzled by the situation for quite a while. What is stopping Lego from producing certain mini figures in chrome? For example, the force awakens c 3po from last year would have looked wonderful in chrome. This omission doesn't make sense to me, because the Tc 14 polybag from a few years earlier was in chrome. I have looked into this and found that there could be a cost issue, and an environmental impact issue. This doesn't make sense to me, because Lego mass produces MULTIPLE chrome key chains (a chrome gold brick, chrome silver brick, chrome gold minifigure. Etc.) Why skimp out on star wars mini figures?

Gread MOD! I'll def. be implementing on the hovertanks that I pick up. Rather than having a seperate hinge for the entire roof section, I think it'd be better to have the top section on jumpers so you could just pull the entire thing off. to access the interior.
-
The top hatch that lego has opens the entire top of the tank, and seems to be there purely to access the inside. We are referring to a small opening that a single figure can pop out of, as shown in that picture. You can imagine that having the current hatch open with a figure standing up wouldn't give the same aesthetic from the picture above.
-
I was just discussing this with a buddy earlier today. I think adding in the top hatch will be an easy mod. It is a little annoying that lego didn't include it though.

I really appreciate the review! The AT-ST is the set I am least interested in in this wave. anothergol's model is so nice, plus seats 2 pilots.
-
Hey Sci. Do you know whether or not the Death Troopers in the battle pack are the commander ones with pockets and pauldron, or the standard ones without those two things? I know the commanders come in the shuttle set, so it would make sense to have standards in the battle pack to keep the commanders a little exclusive.

Always nice to see 4483. Still holds up to this day. Here is some of my stuff. Most of my sets are in bags or still boxed. Just recently moved to that place so I have more space to build sets. For those who have built this thing, how did you go about generating the parts list? The LDD files don't play too nicely with the new BL importing system, as there are some parts that BL doesn't recognize.
