    Star Wars Battle Pack Contest

Okay , another couple of questions from me . First , can we have a brick-built droid as part of the build (and not as one of the 4 minifigures ) ? I don't mean a humanoid one , I mean something like a droideka . The reason I ask is because it uses more than 10 pieces ( but so does TLG's droideka ) . Also , is it ok to have a brick painted ? I do not mean anything like I design on it , just painting a white brick reddish brown , as it doesn't come in that colour ( I just thought that since we 're supposed to build a battle pack as TLG we can "produce" a new colour of an existing mold ) .

    Star Wars Battle Pack Contest

Since custom stickers are permitted on the minifigs , does that mean decals are too ( I really don't know if a decal is considered a sticker or not ) ? Also what about PAD-printed parts ( for the mini figs only of course ) ? Finally , does a more "TLG-stlye" build with many play features , often decreasing the movie accuracy of the build get a better rating than an accurate one with less or maybe no play-features at all ? In other words should we build a battle pack the Lego Group would build , or one like we would design it ? Thanks

[ MOC ] Hit me ! - The Dark Knight

Hey guys , sorry it took so long , I finally found the time to take a picture with no flash so that you can see the lights . here you go : Thanks so much for your comments Balbo , asher and Jared . Keep them up !
  10. Hello Eurobricks . This is the build I made to showcase my Batpod , as well as replicate one of my favourite scenes from "The Dark Knight" ( probably my favourite movie , along with the rest of the trilogy ) . The lamp posts (which along with the batpod are the most " tricky " parts of the build to get right ) took a while to design , as I wanted them to actually light up , and I'm not a big fan of 3d-party lighting for Lego so I had to use the PF lights . The solution came from modding the lights by removing the covering so that they get "bar" (lightsaber blade) wide , so they can fit through pins ( you can find some tutorials online but it's not necessary , you can probably figure it out by yourself ) . The lamp posts are also designed to look exactly like the ones in the film . The batpod is probably one of the best things I've ever built ( at least in my opinion ) and I think it is the very , very close to the " real thing " , at least for mining scale . I wont't talk too much about it , since there is a post just for it right here , so head there for more details about it . The "road" part of the build is simple and somewhat plain, but I like how it looks , and I believe it should be plain as it is so that it doesn't distract from the main part of the build , the two rivals . Finally , the minifigure roster includes the "Tumbler" 's Joker , as well as my custom pad printed Batman ( Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises suit ) , one of the few Lego Batmen with regular ,non-cartoony-white eyes . So , enough with the boring talk , and on with the pictures : Here is a main shot with everything . you will notice the cables leading to the lamp posts . Again , yes those are modded PF lights and do actually light up , which is barely visible on these photos , as the light they produce is nothing in comparison to the flash of the camera used . A shot of the Dark Knight running full speed for Joker , considering breaking his "one rule" . Here is the lamp post again , sorry if the shadow is a bit distracting , I tried many things to avoid a shadow that can be confused with the build , but with no success . The cables go to the back of the lamp post , and are held there by a 1x1 brick with hole . The go all the way till the pavement , and there again they are held under it with another 1x1 brick with hole . Here is the Joker , equipped with a brickarms weapon ( I can't remember the exact model ) . He is , in my opinion , the best minifigure TLG has ever produced for the Superheroes Line , he looks just like he does ain the movie , and really stands out next to any minifigure . An above shot from Batman's POV , as he heads straight for the Joker . You can get a good perspective view of the whole thing here ( except from the street lights ) . The "set" , without the minifigs and batpod . Joker stands on the stud to the right , while Bats' bike just stands on its own ( it's kinda unstable but not too much ) . Also you can see the cables coming out from under the pavement . A final shot of Bats heading straight from the camera . Thank you all guys for viewing I hope you liked it . Please leave a comment , I want to hear as many opinions and suggestions as you guys can come up with . The Caped Crusader

    Decal Wish List

Hey Guys ! Can anyone help me out ? I 'm making Arrow from the TV show , and I really need a decal for his head/ face (http://emptylighthouse.com/sites/default/files/arrowlogo_0.png) . I know what I want to do , but I don't have the photoshop skills to do it . But anyway , here is what I imagine it to be like : a lone ranger - type mask ( note : I really hate it that tog uses weird colours instead of eyes whenever a mask/headpiece is involved , like for batman , nightwing , green arrow etc , I did my batman face decals so that he has eyes but i lack the skill to do it for arrow , that's why I go for the lone ranger mask http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130213235436/lego/images/c/cc/Lone_Ranger_Front.jpg , but a different mask with normal minifig eyes would work as well ) with facial hair like the one from this head : http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=3626cpb0946 . If anyone can help , please , I beg you , I need this figure , and with the skill i see from most guys here you can make it look awesome ! Please you guys . Thanks in advance !

    The Batpod

Hello guys , my name is Labis and I'm an afol who recently came out of his late dark ages ( by late i mean long after my teen years , when most builders get their dark ages ) . For my first creation , I chose the iconic batpod, Batman's heavily armed motorcycle from the movies "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises . The vehicle is in minifig scale ( my main concern with all other lego batpods out there is that the wheels are too big so it's not in minifig scale ) and is modelled so that it looks exactly as the movie version ( obviously it's not 100% true to it as this is near impossible in such a small scale , but it's close to the closest you can get with it ). Also , I made a custom Batman minifig, with a torso which is 100% accurate to the movie version , as well as a redesigned head with eyes and the black (makeup??) that are visible under batman's cowl . ‚ÄčLet's start with some images of the batpod : The Batpod by caped_crusader, on Flickr let's compare it with the original one The Batpod by caped_crusader, on Flickr The Batpod by caped_crusader, on Flickr The Batpod by caped_crusader, on Flickr Now onto the Dark Knight himself : Batman - The Dark Knight by caped_crusader, on Flickr Riding the batpod : The Batpod by caped_crusader, on Flickr "Because he's the hero that Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now...and so we'll hunt him...because he can take it ...because he's not a hero...he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector...the Dark Knight" - James "Jim" Gordon The Batpod by caped_crusader, on Flickr

    The Batpod

Thanks for your comments guys . KCMantze I just saw what you 're talking about and while it certainly looks a lot like the original batpod , I do not believe it is as accurate as mine ( not trying to say mine is overall better as TLG's version is far more playable , just saying that mine is one of the most accurate versions ) . Accuracy is not the only point when TLG designs something ( they want to make a sturdy , compound design that kids can play with and usually include a couple of play - functions as well ) so it makes sense that they "sacrifice " accuracy to achieve that . It doesn't look that hard to replicate though , I'm sure you'll get it if you find some good reference images

    The Batpod

Thanks for your comments guys . Sir Brickalot you definitely will see more from me , I'm back for good . On to the screwdrivers , I also had an idea for a third gun above the 3L bar , using the "harpoon" piece ( http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?colorID=95&itemID=2111 ) but the only connection that worked for that without making the gun area look too big and bulky were Brickarms u-clips , and I didn't want to use any 3d party pieces as part of the bike itself ( as with all my non-minifig creations ) . Awnsering to sander , I kind of cheated by painting the droid heads ( I know it's a bad habit ) but the piece itself worked perfectly for that area , so I just HAD TO use it ... Thanks for the comments you guys , please keep them up !

    Mustafar Duel

Nicely done Lysander , I like the posing of the figs as well as the building , mainly the " over-the-lava" section . One thing you could improve is the tursken bodies on those droids ... Nevertheless it looks cool anyway , keep the good ones comin'
