Argh, I hate it when people do this. I had no idea this piece existed... now I need 17 of them!

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
MartinCliffe replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
These all look intriguing. Going to be an expensive summer (thankfully nothing I'd need to pick up multiples of)! Didn't pick up the last CTT (I was still in my dark ages when it was out, and they've been too expensive to pick up since) so I'm pleased they've brought this out. I was kinda hoping for a blue A-Wing though... and where is Ahsoka? -

Poe's X-Wing was only 3 minifigs and BB-8... it's not unheard of. -

You don't have to be on Instagram - you can search the hashtag on the website. It's a long way down now though. It's a VERY blurry image, so you can't make out wing details, but it looks quite similar. -

Depends on your tastes. I have all of them - if you've not got much Hoth stuff, the Hoth one is good (but unnecessary if you've already got a big Hoth scene). Obi-Wan's Jedi Interceptor is good but has a few flaws and a lot of stickers. If you like Rebels, Kanan's Speeder Bike is a very satisfying build (even though he can't hold the handle-bars) and comes with some great pieces. The only one I was disappointed with was the Carbon Freezing Chamber, but it was worth getting for the figures (I didn't have a Boba Fett, that version of Han Solo or of course an Ugnaut). In the UK, you're in a good situation in that they're all worth £20. Both the US and Europe seem to be much more expensive for all the sets, which makes the value seem much worse. -
REVIEW 75135 Obi Wan's Jedi Interceptor
MartinCliffe replied to Vectormatic's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Not sure if it is the same price as Anakin's in the UK or cheaper, but it's certainly no more expensive. The US / Euro pricing for these new sets is strange. Order them from Amazon in the UK - you'll save money! FWIW, I quite like this set, but I've made some minor mods - put in a control surface / display, sunk the droid socket (and the other side) in by 1 plate, and added a clip for the lightsaber, and that definitely helps. -

5 €35 sets, surely - Kanan's Speeder Bike is the same price (£20) in the UK as the other 4. Can't imagine anyone buying the Spider Droid... -
I really like the AT-AP - I had the older version as one of my only 3 sets I picked up during my Dark Ages, and I've since bought two of 75043. It's a very solid build, a little bigger but much more rugged than the old version, and the Commander Gree and Cheif Tarfful minifigures are fantastic (the battle droids are... well, battle droids). You'll want to pick up a set of Kashyyyk Troopers (75035) so you've got someone to drive it, but as one of the better battle packs in recent years, that's no bad thing.

I thought someone said the A-Wing was coming with Sabine? Which was a strange choice... but time will tell. I for one am excited about these releases, although I'll probably only be buying 1 of each (and maybe not all of them). Hopefully we will be getting both new Inquisitors, and adult Ahsoka. I was still in my Dark Ages when the last Turbo Tank came out, so I'm excited by this one. I'd like it to come with some standard P2 clones, like the Micro Fighter version did, as that's probably my favourite Clone Trooper variant. -
Spent too much, bought too much, through jetlag induced boredom. New from Amazon: Obi-Wan's Interceptor, Carbon Freezing Chamber, Battle on Takodana, Resistance Troop Transport, Hoth Attack, Droid Escape, plus a few battle packs (3 of each). From Bricklink without figures: AT-TE, Flash Speeder, Naboo Starfighter, V-Wing, FO Transporter. 5 custom 501st Clones from Clone Army Customs. Figures from Bricklink: 3 Scout Troopers, 4 Endor Troopers, 4 Hoth Troopers, Wald, 10 FO Stormtroopers, Kanjiklub Gang Member, 4 ISD Stormtroopers, 2 Clone Troopers, 2 FO Flametroopers. All kinds of parts, and then some custom weapons from CAC, BrickArms and The Little Arms Shop. Going to be like a 2nd Christmas when all this arrives! Still planning to pick up Kanan's Speeder Bike and another few FO Battle Packs.

They're just mislabelled - Battle on Takodana & Resistance Troop Transport - but it seems they don't have them in stock yet. I ordered them yesterday when they appeared. The other set they've not got yet is Kanan's Speeder Bike, which is frustrating - only available from 3rd party sellers with serious international shipping costs! -
What you think of the Star Wars EP VII Sets after watching the movie..

Isn't that the new Republic Troop Transport (75140)? -

I bought most of the first wave TFA sets during Amazon's sale at the start of November, when they were about 20% off. I'd imagine they'll do a similar sale after Christmas. -
This is so cool. It seems appropriate to link here (not sure how to embed Youtube videos).

So after a week in the UK I've picked up 3 FO battle packs, 2 Microfighter FO Snowspeeders, 1 Microfighter Resistance X-Wing, 2 Resistance battle packs, and I know my wife has got me the TFA Falcon for Christmas. Oh, and then I ordered 3 Imperial and 2 Rebellion Battlefront battle packs, Obi-Wan's Jedi Interceptor, the Droid Escape and the new Hoth set from Amazon (cheaper to ship back to HK than to get delivered in the UK, so they'll arrive about a week into January). Still planning to pick up 1 more Rebellion BP, Kanan's Speeder, the two new TFA sets and the Carbon Freezing Chamber if possible before I leave on NYE.

Amazon still doesn't seem to have listings for 75139 or 75140, and they don't have stock of 75141 yet... ordered the rest though (NOT the Spider Droid!). Looking forward to seeing what's in the next wave now :) -
Looks like they're holding off the new sets until Boxing Day in the UK. Makes sense. I'll have to pick them up on the 27th / 28th before I head back home to HK (where they'll be more expensive and probably won't appear until mid-January).

The snow speeder was clearly but only briefly seen, and never in motion. So that set wasn't very necessary. Other than that (and Kylo's shuttle wings), I think they did pretty well with the sets. -
PLEASE NO SPOILERS Episode VII. Is it good?
MartinCliffe replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Visually and sonically stunning, great character depth. The plot can be a little formulaic at times, but that doesn't detract there are some great twists. The most important thing is that IT'S A NEW STAR WARS FILM! Go and see it... then go and see it again. -
REVIEW: 75104 Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle
MartinCliffe replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This worried me too when I was building. Only 1 number 6 bag. Thankfully I built it and realised all was good before I complained to Amazon / TLG. -
Got a couple of FO Snowspeeder microfighters (£9), a couple of FO battle packs and one Resistance battlepack (£12) in The Entertainer (think that was the name) in the Arndale Centre in Manchester. No sign of anything in the Lego store though.

I'd imagine that (certainly in the UK) everywhere will have them on sale by December 26th for the start of the post-Christmas shopping boom at the latest. Dunno if Boxing Day sales are quite so big of a deal elsewhere in the world. -
It's really slow (dunno if it's their server or what) but it usually gets there. Then again, I'm in an unusual time zone compared with most of y'all :) There are a couple of Bricklink sellers that stock them too (Brick Takeover is one, from what I recall)

BrickArms makes some cool weapons, but I personally prefer the Little Arms Shop stuff... I have over 600 of them ;)

Awesome, I'll be in England from Sunday.
