[Challenge 3][Cat A][K-B06] Landing at Station 9
NuckElBerg replied to EpsilonEta's topic in AG1 Archive
Beautifully done build! I've been really busy with school and exams, but I'm trying to catch up with what's happened. The SNOT techniques used here really improves the original build (no offense Jeb ), and makes this one stand out (I also like that I'm not completely forgotten yet )! Great job! -
Hi Bob, please transfer the 1668 credits I have on me to EpsilonEta to do with as he seems fit. Hopefully I will have time to come back and reclaim them soon.
-
Hi Bob, please buy a Domination for Dummies for Koro! Thanks!
-
Great build! Reminds me of the of Episode 9, Season 2 of Sidonia no Kishi (alternatively Chapter 49 of the Manga if you were so inclined)! (Note: Considering that Sidonia no Kishi is my favourite Anime/Manga, this should be taken as a compliment. )

Yeeesss... who will I shoot? Tune in next week to find out!

You might feel sorry, but I feel honoured! However, due to my recent inactivity and Commander Turtle's overtaking of my position, Turtle is obviously the correct choice. All hail acting CEO Turtle!
-
Hi Bob, could you please buy a Domination for Dummies for Jycho Tyrus. Thanks!
-
Heh, Bob, I think you forgot to transfer credits from me to Ender and Dr. Steven Quin Livingston, so they both have negative credits now!

[K - D09] Survival Instinct and... Rats...
NuckElBerg replied to Commander Beltar's topic in AG1 Archive
(This was supposed to go all the way to font size 1, but pasting it is restricting me...) Hahahaha. Great use of text to compliment the build! -
Hi Bob, I'd like to purchase one Kawashita mark for Ender (MKJoshA) and one Domination for Dummies for Dr. Steven Quin Livingston. Thanks!

Hi Bob, please buy a Domination for Dummies for Agent Raven please. Thank you!
-
Super! I was planning on taking a break (as some might've noticed, I didn't build anything this week), but now that might be shorter than expected, so thank you on my behalf! Also, congrats to Sal! (Btw Bob, love your WAAAGH!-reference in the front-page post! )
-
Haha, thank you for referring to me as the "time expert"! Bob (and EpsilonEta) already answered though, so I think his reference deadline is the only one that matters.
-
Very true, but like with all things, it gets easier the more you use it. Haha, naah, it's not that bad once you get used to it... I give you two new ones: 3D hinges!
-
Bob, please buy a Domination for Dummies for Blackhawk! Thanks!

Well, when the easiest route is not possible, you have to come up with creative solutions... interestingly enough, it's often those solutions that are more interesting...

I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum to write this in, but it's the following segment that should be edited in the scene-file: # The default material for the plane, a nice blue shade shader { name PlaneMaterial type diffuse diff { "sRGB nonlinear" 1 1 1 } } This, for example, would produce white. 0.5 0.5 0.5 would produce grey. 0 0 0 would produce black. 1 1 0 would produce yellow. 0.4 0 0.8 would produce purple (basically go into this website: http://www.rapidtables.com/web/color/RGB_Color.htm , divide the numbers of the colour you want with 255 and put them into the above code-snip in the order R G B). Hope this helps!

To continue with Bob's line of thought here; as he implied, a lot of the connections which are possible IRL are not possible in LDD. Also, when you're doing large builds in LDD, new bricks have a tendency to clip to just about anything (including non-legal connections ), which greatly increases the time it takes to build in LDD (IRL, it's quite a lot easier to just put the brick where you want it). Free-standing things are not allowed in LDD (such as minifigures on a tile), so that can be a bit of a hassle too. Finally, and I think this is one of the most important parts, me and Turtle just recently discussed the problem with creativity. I'll just quote his answer when I brought it up, because I think it's really telling: Basically, when building in LDD, you have to have a clear idea when starting. This is probably why I'm basically hanging by a thread at the end of each deadline, because I can't seem to come up with good ideas before I really feel the pressure of the deadline coming up. Overall, there are advantages and disadvantages with LDD, but just saying that it's easier is just just plainly wrong IMO.
