    Unfinished projects?

    3 words. Shia LaBeouf it.

Can this make it around a track?

If you used blind (non-flanged) drivers for the middle two wheels, it should work. Someone can confirm as I don't have any BBB drivers around.
  3. Love the detail and the smoke. How did you manage to make it so realistic?

    Unfinished projects?

They may swivel or the whole assembly may slide.
  5. How on earth did you get the grill design on the front of the locomotive? Awesome Job!

    Girder Bridge

This is a cool idea, keeping the track level, but as Man w/ Hat said, a truss (repeating triangles) would be a lot stiffer than the rectangles. Something along these lines, perhaps? edit: typos, man... they're everywhere...

[MOC/WiP] China Railways QJ with PF!

Hey marbleman, next time you quote a huge post, mind using a "<snip>" or two so we don't have to scroll forever to see your addition? Thanks! Wow... amazing that you were able to have that many drivers with such minimal swing-out.

    Your favorite song

I bet mine (at least currently) is one none of you guys have heard of. Pictures of Bernadette by Talk Talk (Props to you if you remember this 80's B-side (which was as good as the front IMHO))

Should I rebuild what I own?

Digging through the bins is half the fun! (it also drives whoever else is in the house crazy but IDC >:) Honestly, build what you want, keep the rest in bins. I had a couple Santa Fe cars strewn throughout my bins and it took forEVER to find those 2x1 bricks for the ends, but they look so good.

Is the 4561 a good set to start on LEGO Trains?

It's what I started with. It may not be the most satysfiying build, but its a good place to start. (Plus you get that cool blue windscreen!)

    Ghent Harbour MOC WIP

Nicely done. I like all the details you managed to put in. The retaining walls around the edge of the layout look quite good as well.

    Retrofuturistic locomotive

Holy cow! Those look sweet! That yellow one looks nuclear powered! Prob my favorite. What are you using to render, if i may ask?

Texas Brick Railroad at Brick Fiesta 2015

Your show layouts seem to outdo the previous ones every time. This one is no different! How do you manage to set up it up with all those minute details? Seems like that would take a month for one show... XD

    [LDD MOC] Red-sand locomotive

Nice job! You really have a good eye for details. If you want to run it on track, you might want to replace those 3 wheel bogies with smaller 2 wheeled ones. Big ones like that tend to grind quite badly in curves.

Modding 9V to PF. worth it?

Here's the thing with PF and 9v: As people have said 9v is expensive and will only get more so. However, 9v is the best solution for Bogie-focused designs, like diesels, electrics. PF can be good for steam and more complex designs, for it has more driving options from the multitude of PF motors. It takes up quite a bit more space in your locos, though. That being said, the best option would be whatever seems the best to you. If your willing to shell out a *bit* more, go with 9v. PF is more versatile in terms of track layouts (you don't have to worry about short circuiting with track loops). I'd say go for which one seems more appealing. With modding tho, it seems to me that all you'd really be keeping is the look of the set, because you'd have to pretty much take up one of the cars for the PF gear. and mod the baseplate for the wire to the PF motor.

    Best track layout software?

As stated, not in the normal manner, but is is possible on a Mac thru other means. You definitely cannot run it on a tablet (Apple or otherwise) for it is a PC program and not an app.

How Many Trains Do You Own?

Figure I might as well actually post instead of just being a lurker. My collection has the Santa Fe engine, 2x obs./ dining/ sleeping car, 1x baggage/ mail car, 4561 Railway Express, the Hobby Train, and the holiday train. (Along with buckets of other random Lego parts, ofc. Ya gotta love digging through 3 bins just to find that one piece. ) EDIT: Typo. Probably should find a bigger keyboard where you dont hit 3 keys with every press.
  22. Wow! Wish I had the space to run all of those! You must have had a lot of those old windows lying around for those coaches.

Power functions? What motor would be better

It would be cool to see if someone can actually make one of those that is actually driven by the propeller! That would be one sweet train.

    ME Models New Rail Color

Start saving then. These are fully compatible! They just come in different radii and lengths than official Lego track.
