  1. I'm liking the Snow Trooper image. Very professional, can slay Jaden Korr anyday.

  2. I wonder if it has anything to do with a possible lack of distribution centers in Australia. The USA, for instance, is covered in them, so it's going to lower shipping costs. Australia is well-known for being an expensive place to do business. If TLG is weighing the benefits of having a base of operations there vs. the high taxation and overall low population of Australia (23 million over a huge area), then I could see why shipping is not cheap.

I'm glad this set was finally made, it's rather silly that it's taken this long to get the UCS version of the Empire's most iconic fighter. I don't mind the inaccuracy of the cockpit, it looks like a fun build and screams LEGO. I can look past it. If I decide I need a rounder shape, it's an easy enough fix. I do think at $200 it's incredibly overpriced though. Compared to the Slave I, it's nether as impressive nor has much going on in terms of features at the same price point. I also think one minifig is a disaster, they could have at least thrown in a Stormtrooper and a mechanic. I'll have to decide whether I want this at full price or to wait for an inevitable sale like the B-wing had. Now TLG, give me what I really want. UCS AT-AT and/or Falcon remake!

Hmm, sounds like we're getting a Slave I that's to scale with minifigures.

Death Star has been around since '08, it doesn't follow the same rules as the other sets. It would probably take another playset in the $400 range to retire it (Cloud City).

I'd say Shadows of the Empire is loved more. Thrawn Trilogy probably as well.

If you ignore the tank treads, it's more like 300 for a 2800 piece set. If this is UCS then I'm forced to buy it, but it's had better come with the display sticker that describes the set.

A few of us have been wanting this set for years now. Lars Homestead. Ages 4 and up. 432 pcs.

"Due to a few complaints in the LEGO Star Wars forum on Eurobricks.com, we have decided to cancel production of the new Sandcrawler." - TLG If that sounds ridiculous it's because it is. Nothing we say here will change TLG when it's this far along in production. It's coming no matter what, so please don't be silly and get angry at people who don't like the set. You're still going to be able to buy it at an inflated price, although I would suggest waiting, because this appears to be a set that will go on sale relatively quickly.

    1. No , because something else could exist in its place. They only release so many high priced sets a year. 2. It has nothing to do with being able to afford it. If they gave us the CUUSOO Sandcrawler at $1500 I would pee my pants and buy it Day 1. $300 is a ripoff here should they go with that price. 3. When did this site become a place that we are only allowed to voice positive opinions? And why would you care what others think anyway if you don't agree? Do people hating the cost ruin the enjoyment of the set for you? Be glad you like it.

I hate pretty much everything about the new Sandcrawler. The size, the switch from bricks to plates, THE PRICE...everything. Hopefully someday we'll get a UCS Sandcrawler instead of these System abominations.

Technically there hasn't been any UCS sets for a long time as that label was discontinued long ago. I like my definition though: Does it have a large display sticker with detailed information? If so, it's a UCS. If not, it's a system play set. The Death Star, Sandcrawler, and Motorized AT-AT...not UCS sets. They are for play, not just for display.

I LOVE the B-wing. Maybe the design could have been better...but TLG needs to keep releasing somewhat obscure ships / vehicles. As for the Falcon, have they EVER rereleased a set without changing anything? I think it's about guaranteed that they would redesign it; it would get a more accurate interior and/or exterior. For instance, I'm all but certain there would be a cockpit windshield this time around. I hope this time we get a RotJ version, complete with the four that were on the Falcon in the Battle of Endor. If not, then we'll most certainly get a Sequel Trilogy version as there's about a 0% chance the Falcon won't be heavily featured in the new films. Remember, TLG wants to make money above all else. Making a new Falcon is easy money, just like making a new X-wing is easy money. If you buy an obscure ship like the UCS B-wing, it will likely stay exclusive forever...but if you buy a popular UCS ship...yes, there's a good chance it won't be the last one. No need to get angry about it everyone, your ship will still be unique and still be worth a lot of money in the distant future. They've made new Star Wars action figures over 30+ years but guess which ones are worth the most money? 1st edition always holds its value over the long run.

I looked but couldn't find it, everyone there was excited/whining about the potential UCS Falcon for 2015.
