    [MOC] Modern firestation

Thank you for your feedbacks guys. Sorry for the pictures with light spots but I shot those pictures the only sunny day in Paris ! I have some few pictures of the inside. I'll post them pretty soon
  2. Hi folks, I recently purchased the Café & Bike shop 31026 since I really love the colours used in this set. I had quiete a lot of fun to build it but in the end, it wasn't a surprise to find it small compared to a modular. I decided to mod this building so it would become a modular one. Those are the requirements for the MOD : This should fit on a 32x32plate but it should also include a large café terrasse in order to place it at one end of a building row This should reuse all the great color parts of the set (especially the dark red, te dark blue and the medium blue parts) This should be a Café with an appartment on top of it This should be the same size as the Pet shop This should use only regular bricks as additional parts So i decided to identify my favorite features of the set and to keep them as they are (some window frames, pieces of furnitures, the ATM...) I parted out the rest of the set and started clicking bricks. I ended up to this. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough tiles to make a proper terrasse and sidewalk but I'll fix this ASAP. This is still a WIP but it's notthat bad. Again, the real challenge was to keep as much parts as possible from the set and to add only basic bricks. Here are some pictures. I know the red base plate is ugly but it's the only one I had ! Even if it will be covered with tiles, I'll change it for a grey one. So this is a Café (some more café tables will be added later on on the terrasse) with a 2 storries appartment on top of it. There is also what we call in Paris a "Velib" stand on the sidewalk (those are some self-service bikes you can rent with your bus card and this is VERY convenient !), some kind of roof terrasse and a bit of furnitures in the appartment (kitchen, angle couch, piece of modern art, lamps ...) Using limited parts was very challenging but also very fun. It's always cool find out solutions with creative building technics :).

Hi, Here are the first pics of the exterior of the station. The black bricks will be replaced pretty soon. Please excuse the mess in the background, pictures were shot right after I fed my twin babies !

Lego City delivered the building licence ! Here is the first picture I took this afternoon ! Some parts are missing, some other are the wrong color (black instead of dark bluish grey) but soon it will be as I wanted to be !

Awsome Job ! Simple but not simplistic. In a word, Ingenious ! Look forward to seeing you integrate it in a city !

I think it's a Scania truck indeed. Ask Lego since it's a red version of the Police truck in the 60044 set. So far, that truck doesnt fit in the garage so I think I'll modify it a bit

Thank you for your feedback. I plan to make it in bricks. I have 90% of the bricks and I'll build it around the 15th of May. Pictures of the interiori are coming. FOr the antenna, it might be a bit fragile indeed. I'll check how robutst it is with the brick model !

    [MOC] Modern firestation

Hi guys, Here is my first MOC for the city I'm building up for my kids. Indeed, they were born 3 months ago and I want them to have a nice city to play with in 5 or 6 years. Then they can extend it as well with new buildings. So the first MOC is more for my boy since it is a fire station. It's all on CAD right now but I have order all the parts (more than 3000) on bricklink and will start the building as soon as I receive everything. I wanted to make something a bit modern and I find the inspiration with this picture : I started the building and ended up with the following modular construction : As I said, it's modular so every single story is independant and can be taken off the building. I'll post some pictures of the inside later on maybe when it's built since it's so long to make those Ray Tracing rendering) The fire truck is a MOC too. The tractor itself is the same as the one in the police set 60044 and the trailer is complete MOC. Here is a closer view of it : DO note hesitate to make some remarks and to criticize this !
  9. HI I'm Mathieu, I am 31yrs old an I am Technical Director in the automotive industry. I grew up with my Lego and since I had twins (boy and girl) last January, I decided to start building up a Lego city so they can play with it and extend it when they are 5yrs old ! I started with a MOC firestation. It's all on CAD right now an I will start the building in 2 weeks. Next I will make a MOC of something more girly for my daughter (maybe a stud farm with horses or something like this)

Is Pet Shop gone for good?

Hi, I asked lego about the availability of that set and they replied yesterday that it would be back in stock on May 10th. Can't wait to order it !
