Location: F04 Illustria Tags: MANTIS, exploring Double D's log 45: At the edge of the dry side of Illustria I came across an unchartered part of our map and found what seemed to be an abandoned....something, though the building didn't look worn, just a bunch of plants starting to crowd the entrance, and I was going to find out why...hopefully.

Location: F04 Illustria Tags: MANTIS, exploring Double D's Log 44: I was sent back to F04 so MANTIS could test their fighter ground tracking. We went to a more dry spot on the planet up on some rocky plateau. I also inspected some water condensers. Nothing exciting. End log. ------------------------------------ Making the minifigs was definitely the most fun part about this week's build! Hopefully I'll get a chance to use them again! So yeah, I have tons of ideas and no lack of motivation, but since August of last year I've only been committing a small amount of time for MANTIS building (and some weeks less than others). It's actually been a bit of a challenge having to build things quickly. Though it makes my stories boring and unconnected, and to me, uninteresting. I'm glad to have been able to post a build for almost every AG "week" though. Oddly enough I've only built for the first AG challenge. Those extra "weeks" for the challenges really just turned out to be breaks for me! Still going strong here, even if small! Small and steady wins the race! And as MANTIS member Mr. Greeble put it, "Or large and steady. That works too...." Maybe I'll put a post up recapping some of my AG builds in the anniversary thread....we'll see!

Wow, your vehicles are always so awesome! Super cool designs!

Wow, that story is really cool! Fantastic micro spaceships, and the control room is also great. To top it off you even had a sweet vehicle in the mix, superb!
-
Haha, that's great! Super cool GATE drive, and the Octan version cool too, but not as cool as the MANTIS one ;) All the different foliage pieces are fantastic!

Location: F04 Illustria Tags: MANTIS, spaceship, military Double D's log 43: MANTIS has been developing some new spaceships that are fast, highly maneuverable, and perfect for scouting or space combat. I was lucky to be able to try one of the new MAN-TI Fighters. ____________________________________________________________ My photo table is currently being occupied, and I don't like how these photos look. I'll get better photos of this before I take it apart though.

That alpha wing is fantastic! Star Wars stuff looks great when they are MANTISified. The hangar too is really well done.

Location: H03 Kaalin Tags: MANTIS, exploring Double D's log 42: Well, we're right back we started a few weeks ago. Octan and MANTIS fleets pinned against each other on the coveted sector of E01. To take a break from the case, I headed down to the planet with Wheelie and see if we could spy on anything or anyone. We didn't, so I decided to just enjoy the fresh air.

That drill is fantastic! I really like those treads!

Location: F04 Illustria Tags: MANTIS, spying Double D's Log 41: I've been following this one particular Octan Special Forces operator for a second week now, and I've finally got a lead. Octan moved it's fleet in what seems like a retreat back to sector H03. I was able to hear them very clearly due to MANTIS spying technology coupled with the very expensive equipment put into my helmet. In his conversation with some Octan guards, I overheard them talking about Octan's fleet and future strategy, but no specifics were given except that "everything that you need to know is in this file, now go, before Double D catches up to you." Was this a challenge? Well then, I accept!

Ooh, sweet lighting effects and story! Great setup!

Yeah, nice lighting here! I like the layout here as well!

For those unfamiliar with the game, Age of Empires is a real-time strategy game that requires players to build up an economy, train units, and conquer other players. A few of the guys from InnovaLUG, including myself, have really enjoyed playing the game ever since Mark (Mark of Falworth) introduced the game to us when it was on sale. We play Age of Empires II HD edition on Steam. If any of you play the game, add us! Maybe we'll get a game together sometime! Anyway, enough with the background. Several members from InnovaLUG decided to do a Flash-MOC by recreating some of the buildings from the game. We hope you enjoy! Visit the article on InnovaLUG's website to see each building separately with links to the posts on Flickr.
